Quick replying on the PC - Bug? - About xda-developers.com

Hi there,
Hopefully this is in the right section!
Each time I hit quick reply on Chrome, whilst on the 2013 BETA 1024 or 2013 BETA theme - I always get directed to this message (see attached)
I've noticed this in the last 2 weeks.
Any ideas? Could be on my end, but also could be something with the server not recognising I submitted once already?
I get automatically directed to the page where I've already posted a reply - like if I had tried to press the button twice, when in reality I only pressed it once.
The reply DOES get posted - but why don't I get redirected to the post I posted and rather to this screen?
Hopefully I'm making sense! :good:

the problem was fixed recently, but has cropped up again
the workaround was to press F5 key after you posted to refresh that post to take you back to that thread.

Members, this thread is to report any found Spam.
And or hit the report button is also a great way to report the found spam, thanks in advance, for helping keep XDA clean.
Remember the Moderators are all in different time zones, and we are not able to be all over XDA even for some of us that do not have a life other than XDA, this is why we rely on those XDA Members to assist in either posting here or reporting the spam on the reporting system that goes to the Moderator Teams for those areas, and again we are all on different time zones on this World Wide Web.

1. How can I remove the posting limit, whenever I try to post it says try again in 5 minutes? Is this a temporary limit?
2. The XDA app frezes after every 5-10 minutes and then it force closes. I reinstalled it but that didn't work.
Sorry guys I don't know where to post such topics.
Please help staff.

To contact XDA staff, you don't need to make a post but just move your mouse and point to the list of moderators on top of every forum header to PM them directly also this can be done by clicking the orange triangle on every post title header on your right corner.
2) To understand posting limit , read this
5 minute restrictions, is due to some people who register on web sites ( any web site including XDA) just to advertise their product, sex trade or call girls services) they normally use bots ( spam bots, which automates their spamming) so you can have numerous threads created by a spammer in a forum or many forums within five minutes, and to try and stop them will be fruitless as they just joined to do it (spam) and quit the forum. They will register again once banned using another name and do it again, so imagine the life of moderator deleting the spam, can be hell indeeed, when this restriction is not practiced, although it will affect legitimate junior members, it cannot be helped till you are a member ( meaning proven as a credible person and valuable member of this community after the initial 10 posts)
3) regarding XDA app you need to post here read or search that thread before posting , might help you understand ho many times such issues had been reported or resolved.

[XDA Forum Error] Blank Screen everytime I start a New Thread

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to report a bug/error in Forums. Everytime, I try to Post a New Thread, when I click Submit Post, it just Redirect and shows me a Blank Screen. However, the Thread gets submitted.
But, I think that there should be a Redirection to the Thread, but it gets stuck in the Blank Screen.
This happened with me 2 times, when I tried to Post a New Thread in Android Themes section.
Happy Holidays everyone!
Best Regards,
THAKUR

XDA Rule 13 - Pling

Hello,
I have a question regarding the Pling.com if is allowed in XDA or not. According to rule XDA Rule 13 Pay-Per-Click links does not allowed, and that's true till Monday which I reported a thread for link there.
The moderator removed the thread from public view but few hours later it was back and today I got a notification that XDA is now allow Pling.com as File Host. I have nothing against the moderator but I want to be sure if it's allowed or not since I cannot find anywhere this change which XDA announces that pling.com is allowed.
Thanks.

My mistake, that thread was presented to the RD's as a source of opinion.
To answer your question: Yes, Pling is an approved file host. At some point I imagine we will have a public announcement.

Hello and good morning.
From your screenshots I see that @Funk Wizard was the acting moderator. What occured was that during the handling of the first report, the decision about pling.com was still under discussion in the responsible moderators body and as such pending, although all moderators were already aware that such a discussion was ongoing.
Then the discussion was finally made yesterday and announced to all moderators; the reason why the next, new report was now handled as done by Funk.

Just for your information: I've removed the link from the quotation in your post because it referred to a forum with limited access.

Hello Oswald,
Yes, this is what I imagined after the clarification of V0latyle.
Nothing against the moderator Funk. I just wanted to be sure because I maintain a collection & guides thread (like this) and some ROMs / Kernels are hosted there, so I can include them.
Thanks for your time looking at this and for the detailed explanation.

I'm fully aware that you didn't complain about @Funk Wizard and I'm convinced nobody read it that way. Actually, anything different had wondered me because Funk was perfectly correct with all his action.
And affirmative, at your own discretion you can certainly now add links to pling.com to your repo's, collections or guides. We highly appreciate that you keep them up to speed.

Pling now accepted on XDA. Does that mean it's no longer considered as a Pay-Per-Click link.

Affirmative, we now accept it as a filehost on XDA. If you go to opendesktop.org payout terms & conditions it's a paid-per-download site, and we're well aware. We discussed it lengthly, under consideration of multiple aspects and feedback from our recognised developers.
