GS3 Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network. - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Hi Im having major issues with my s3 running stock rom 4.1.2. So I tried to change my imei number earlier this week and I think I messed somthinv up bigtime. Whenever I try to connect to the telus network in settigs it says your sim card does not allow a connection to this network. I already tried to restore imei with nv items reader and writer from cdma workshop but it gives me an error "failed.. phone does not answer" I tried using qpst but it didn't work either. I tried a sim swap. I used to run cyanogen mod. The funny thing is with cyanogenmod it only detected the network codes. For example 302610 but on stock rom that's telus. And Yes I know its illigal to change imei.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sim card permanently LOCK?

I got an unlock code for Galaxy S3 from TMO. I enter it and it didn't work. It said "network unlock request unsuccessful". I tried it for a couple times, wifi on, different carriers, the code still no good. Called TMO again and they said the code is correct verifying the IMEI. Anyone experience this? (It's on CM 10.2).
They also said my phone most likely permanently LOCKED the sim carrier!!! I was like WTF. I don't even know there's such thing. How is it possible the sim carrier being permanently locked. Now I'm stuck cuz they can only generate one code per IMEI (according to the rep). If I buy an unlock code online, will it work?
If you do too many unsuccessful attempts to unlock the sim then it can permanently lock it.. And did you try it with CM? With the s3 it would only work with touchwiz, try it with that

In the GENERAL section for our T999 there is a thread by "mrgodai" named "Sim Unlock".. I just did it last night and it worked. You WILL have to downgrade to 4.1.1 (I used the root66 4.1.1) via ODIN.. Then you follow the OPs instructions, then once it shows SUCCESSFUL you can go back to your backed up nandroid to whatever ROM.. I'm using CM11 4.4.2

[Q] Phone signal problems

I have got at&t unlocked phone and I haven't had any problem from above an year but I have been having signal problems from two weeks now. Messages come and go after hours, sometimes they are quick. It's like my phone is on it's own mood whether to send or not. When I try to check credits I get the error "Connection problem or inavlid MMI code". Sometimes my phone's carrier disappear too. Signals are all full. I tried porting into another carrier and found no difference at all.
I think it's related to IMEI because when I *#06# then a pop comes written "0" on it instead of showing IMEI code. Please help! Thanks!
For some reason, it looks like the folder containing your IMEI has been corrupted. Try to re-install the imei using NV writer.

Have you recently updated your rom or flashed anything? Maybe you could flash the modem files again and fix your problem?
When you go to about phone what does it say for baseband?

I think the problem occurred after I flashed leaked version of stock 4.3. Firmware was I747UCUEMJ2. I flashed CyanogenMod 10.2 hoping that it might fix the problem but it didn't made any difference.
I checked baseband version and surprisingly, it's I747UCUEMJ2. So, what do you think? Is that the problem? Also, how can I fix this? Last question, what if I restore IMEI etc then will it still be unlocked or I will need an at&t sim?

Restoring will not re-lock the phone. If your imei and baseband appear correct, I don't think you need to inject the imei.
You could use Odin to flash back to stock and see if the problem persists.

So the imei from the phone's keypad matches the imei on the phone's label?
Yes, it does.

And I still can't check how many credits I have. When I dial *124# then it's saying "Connection problem or invalid MMI code".

Sorry to disturb but I have a question. Since carriers over here doesn't provide micro-sim so we have to cut out large sims and then ready to use. So, I did that but I also noticed that my friend who has S3 got smaller sim circuit and my sim's circuit covers almost whole sim. Maybe that could be the problem? Please answer so I can then contact carrier.

I'm trying to unlock my phone, I bought used on ebay, I found found a thread here that shows you how to unlock, but can't even do the first step. when I install a different sim card, I don't get the message Unlock, the phone reads the sim as a non support sim.
the sim I'm putting in the phone doesnt have service on it, Is this the reason the unlock message doesn't come up?

I put a metro pcs sim that has service on it, but when I try to make a call, it say, not register to network, and or mobile network disconnected? Aso also tried to put the apn setting, but when I try to save the apn setting, they disappear??
Anyone have any idea?
Thanks for the reply
you can use free unlock from general http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2024514
but of course you have to do it from uvkl1. but--you can do a nandroid, and after you unlock it, restore your backup! it will stay unlocked

Seems your phone's ROM/Radio mismatched or not for MetroPCS. This exactly happened to my phone also, until I flashed a new radio for my rom(I am using TMobile, flashed new TMobile ROM but not new Radio. Then it had the problems as you have now).
New sim fixed
