I order a yellow one kind of tired of black cases so hopefully it looks nice and I got the wireless charger.

I ordered the gray. I think it'll be a nice contrast with my black nexus.
I placed an order, then thought about whether spending 41.90 on a case is justified, then cancelled my order LOL xD

I did the same thing. As a full time student I cannot justify it. Hopefully Google maintains stock of it, and some knockoffs show up on eBay for cheaper.

I did and it is arriving today - I got the Gray... I have a white nexus. Can't wait!
I ordered the bright red hoping that I too will see it as more orange (as some review sites have noted) - as orange is my favorite color. I couldn't justify paying more on shipping so I will wait until tuesday to get mine...
I also couldn't justify paying for another made in china for 50 cents case - like any spigen or rengke or kayscases - since I already tried that route. All of these cases are all low quality (see the sub 3 star reviews on all of these cases on Amazon) and spending $20 on ANY of them is a complete waste of money. I only bought the Kayscase (black with kickstand) only due to all of the (what turns out to be mostly fake) positive reviews for them. Come to find out the case is ugly, feels cheap (BoM is south of 50 cents from china and a not so nice markup of $15 is complete robbery) and feels like it would cause more damage to the phone (rather than protect it) if dropped. See the spigen isn't returning any of my emails thread to see that poor qualilty (power button being forced down) and customer service are common for these less expensive cases so I figured getting the official case will 1) be of a higher quality and 2) if dropped a few feet (say 2-3) and damage to the phone occurs there's a better chance of getting a free repair using the official case.

Pretty happy with the Diztronic case, even though I was pretty fixated on the OEM case. $35 is a lot so I'll wait for some reviews and such and maybe some comparisons.

where's the option for buying more than 1? i bought the gray, thought it was too light and now i have a black in the mail
Ordered the red and I received it today. Very upset it looks more like an orange. The back is very hard and it reaches out the edges of the back.... Uncomfortable.
Also the case makes it 10x more difficult to hit the buttons. If any of you had a d3o case it's much worse.

As far as your number 2 going, have you ever heard of that working? I only ask because I had the nexus 4 in the official bumper, dropped it from three feet and broke the screen (it did hit just the corner which should have been protected by the bumper but we all know how unpredictable corner impacts can be). I imagine google would laugh at you if one asked for a free repair. However I hope I am wrong because I will contact them immediately if you have heard otherwise.
I ordered the gray when I got my N5 and it already started to discolor from being in my pocket. I'm returning the gray and ordering a black.
Gray case + white Nexus 5 = Sexy as hell. Unless you're under a really bright light, it pretty much looks white to me.
I'm loving it... I know it was overpriced, but it still says Nexus on the back, its grippy, cutouts are precise and accurate and its non-intrusive to the screen so you can actually select and touch icons that are at the extreme side. I'm happy.

Can you take pics of the black? Are the nexus letters similar to the letters on the back of the phone? (Feeling wise)
Power and Volume Buttons
I've heard that the case fits pretty tight but the volume and power buttons take some getting used to. They apparently aren't all that easy to press to get them to work. As people get theirs can you post if it loosens up as you use it more?

The nexus letters aren't engraved like the back of the phone. It's a bit embossed actually.
Aside from the power button being rigid, I like this case very much.

does it make the phone feel boxy, hence, making it feel more bulky? The thing I love about the diztronic tpu case is that it contours very nicely around the back edges, making the phone retain its sleek form feeling in your hands.

Background
I buy exensive devices, but I never want to buy expensive or large cases for my devices. I personally believe cases wreck the look and feel of a device, so if I am going to get one, I go minimalistic as possible. This is where the TPU case comes in.
TPU cases are nice because they fit tightly around the device and do not add much thickness or weight. They are better than your typical rubber, plastic, or silicone because they do not attract dust and hair and whatnot, while also being much studier.
The main thing I wanted to do was find the cheapest case I could and this one came out to $10, which is much better than paying $80 for a Zenus Prestige, or a Melko for over $100. This case was $10 and had free expedited shipping from a US seller and got here in 2 days.
Now About the Case
It comes in different colors, like white, smoke, and black. I chose the smoke so you could still see through the back a little bit. When it arrived it was in a padded envelope which was fine. It fits my Tab 10.1 quite well with all of the cutouts for buttons, headphone jack, speakers, mic, and 30 pin directly centered over where they should be. The only issue I have is that it is a tiny bit loose on the long sides, probably due to the numerous cutouts. Even with that issue it seems well made and adds some protection against dings, scratches, and drops and it doesnt attract dirt and things like that when you set it down. For $10 you really can't go wrong.
This case is for people that want to keep the same overall shape of the device, but have a little protection. This and a screen protector would keep the device protected well. It is for people that do not want to deal with the flaps and folds from the stand cases and it is also for people that are cheap like me.

Thank you, this case is exactly what I want. I was unsure what it would look like, but thanks to your pics I can see that it looks great. I'm buying one now.
I went ahead and ordered the tpu case. I hope it's much better than the **** gel case I ordered a couple weeks ago. That Chinese black gel case on ebay is low quality and poor fitment.
I use the same case for my tab I got a good deal on ebay with some high quality screen protectors included.
I also use a cheap neoprene case I bought from amazon
http://www.amazon.co.uk/SAMSUNG-P71...2C/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1310663987&sr=8-11
This is useful when transporting the Tab in the boot of my car and doubles as a stand if I roll it up and prop the Tab up on it.
TPU is definately the material of choice for this kind of case and the grip pattern at each end of the case make it easier to hold the Tab.
R
Love this case. The tab feels better holding. More grip for sure.
Just got mine today from ebay, i really love this. It feel so much better than having a naked tablet i just will never let my tab touch the ground lol
I got a black version from eBay and it arrived yesterday. Very nice because it's not see-thru, it's totally black and makes the Tab very stealthy... Build quality is good considering the price of $12 with free shipping.

I do like this case and think I will go for this in the time being until incipio comes out with there silicyrilic case next month or so. How does the weight feel to it? Does it seem durable if it was dropped or banged around? I would like to be able to bring it anywhere outdoors and keep it protected fairly well.

It doesn't add too much weight and it does seem to be quite durable. I haven't really dropped my Tab yet though and I plan on not doing it.

There should be a link on the first page to an ebay auction. They all look the same just different colors. If you find the link go to his store and look at the other colors or you could just search TPU case for samsung galaxy tab 10.1.

I wanted to share these with everyone. This is the TPU Case I have. Its a little bit different design as far as the textured grip goes. The non-textured part is also clear instead of a matte finish like the case the OP has.

Sorry for the link, I didn't want to take the time to size all these.
Here is my same case next to the OP's case
Sorry for the poor quality phone pictures.
there you go, very good fit, not loose at all
Hi,
I just heard from ebay seller post3rs that they will begin selling their TPU cases for our SGSIIs on 10/19. My experience with their products for other phones I have owned has been first rate. Their cases have cutouts for the power/sleep button and volume rocker which the cheaper off shore cases do not. Highly recommended products.
Thanks
Our Matte Back Black and High Gloss Black cases should be ready to ship as soon as Wednesday. The other 4 styles, Matte Back Smoke, High Gloss Smoke, Smoke GlitterFlex and Pink GlitterFlex will be ready either later in the week or early next week. They will indeed have both power button and volume button cutouts. Our Sprint and AT&T Galaxy S II cases have been very well received but the one issue has been the volume rocker was difficult to press. This is the first time we are trying the volume button cutout and we hope it will solve the issue. In addition the Amaze 4G and Hercules cases will be the first cases released under TPU-Cases new name, Diztronic. I'll have pictures of the matte black case posted on our website soon.
Here is our Matte Back Black case. If you've purchased our Matte Back series cases before you know they had a TC on the bottom for TPU-Cases. This is our first model to have the new Diztronic symbol. We tried to make it small and subtle, and we didn't put a huge DIZTRONIC on the back like some manufacturers do. I hope you all like it.

everythings sold out. anywhere else we can get TPU case?
I'm eagerly looking forward to getting this case. I ordered last Monday, the day they were to first be available, but my first choice (gloss smoke) was already sold out, so I bought a matte black which shipped yesterday.
I didn't even know about tpu-cases/diztronic until a few days prior to that when I ordered a gloss smoke one for my wife's Bionic. We were very pleased with the quality and fitment. It looks great.
I'll probably get the smoke one down the line, but the one should be good enough for now (plus I have that free D3o from T-mo's website deal yesterday that's also en route).
If anyone else is looking for a TPU case, though, I feel that TPU-cases/Diztronic is a great choice.
Just got mine in the mail today. It's a really nice case. Only problem with it is that the bottom mic hole in the case doesn't line up with the actual mic hole. I tried to adjust it but I can't adjust it enough without the case fitting improperly. Don't know how much it affects call quality yet.
Yeah, it's not a deal breaker for me. I'm gonna keep it, just wanting to put it out there.

What do you guys think about the quality of the case or how it fits other than the microphone being misaligned?
I like the quality of the case. Thin but provides enough protection for me. I prefer the cutouts for the volume and power buttons. Like I said, I'm keeping it even with the misaligned mic hole.

Can you or anyone with this same mic misalignment fitment issue please take a picture and post it? If I'm buying a case that is custom fitted to my particular phone model, I would expect, if not demand, that EVERYTHING is lined up perfectly ... especially something like a mic hole.
THANK YOU so much for pointing this out and please post some pics so we can all determine for ourselves if the misalignment is a DEAL BREAKER before we actually buy it.

After doing quite a bit of searching and discussing the above mentioned issues with the seller (OneStepAhead) of the case everyone is talking about, I decided to give another TPU case a shot instead.
After seeing pictures of it in post #2 of THIS THREAD I ordered it from HERE on Amazon. $5.90 total for the case and shipping. It appears to be a solid fit. I will report back once it is received.

I just got mine in the mail today, just wanted to show you guys how it looks.
The color is as depicted. Same issues: Buttons are so hard to press. I hope they loosen up over time.
As you can see in the picture i posted, the Camera lens does not match up perfectly with the cut out case. Although it will not be an issue to most of you, but I'm a nit-picky person. It's not that big of a deal, but still I think this is a manufacture flaw. It's unnoticeable though.
As for the screen protector, its horrible. I've had headache trying to put this on and this one is a fingerprint magnet.
Overall, good case, with high quality silicon and polycarbonate shell.
It looks ugly. Why did you even bother getting a blue one?

Interesting choice of color
It seems to add quite a bit of thickness to the phone. Could you maybe measure it?
I am looking for a case that will have good screen protection that will offer a bit of a rubber edge around the front of the screen, like it seems to show in the pictures? So if you drop the phone face down or place in on an object with the screen facing down. The screen would not be in contact with that surface.
Does this case offer that?
and thanks for the pics!
Cheers!

Yes. This case has bumps on the front that prevents the screen from getting in contact with the screen.
Also, the phone with the case on is about 0.75inch in height.
Just ordered one as well and it should be here any day now. Had the black one but got bored of it pretty quickly.
I think the blue looks nice but will have to see it on the phone.

No offense but why do people continue to purchase these Otterbox cases when there are known issues that aren't being fixed. The buttons are too hard to press and the cut-outs don't line up perfectly. I expect more from a case that costs more than $30. Not to mention, these cases don't look any where near as good as the ones they make for the iPhone. Also, most of the color combos are damn ugly.

The black one I have has no alignment issues. I do agree that the buttons are hard to press at first but they do get much better after a week or so. Actually like the fact that the buttons are not so easy to press, it was so annoying when watching YouTube and accidentally turn the screen off.
Not sure about the color combos vs iPhone, I think most are nice except for the green and purple ones.

Also, iPhone had been around for almost 3 years while S3 just came out so a little unfair to say they have ugly colors. I'm sure more colors will be available in the future.

i love otterbox cases. i have them since DHD, Incredible S, Sensation XE and now with Galaxy S III.
with regards to buttons being hard to press it's relative. although i did experience it was easier with my Incredible S and Sensation XE, but i have no complaints (major) on my SGS3

Yes, I personally would not go for the black or blue on a white S3 since they have a nice white/Grey case that would look much nicer. I choose the blue becuase I think it would look good on my blue S3. I do wish the back had a bit more texture for grip but it'll be protected if it slips out of your hands.

I've had my Otterbox Commuter for almost a month. When I first put it on, the camera didn't line up so I played around with the silicone part and it lined up. The buttons, in my experience anyway, don't get easier to press. You do get used to pressing a little harder though.
While I feel like my Commuter offers good enough protection, I think I'll wind up getting a Defender. The Commuter is just too thin. In my line of work I need something that, if I fall on it or if it gets knocked off of the counters, it won't be damaged. My previous $3 case offered extreme protection with a kickstand.

I can't seem to get the black one to line up either. And the power button gets easier to press over time (2 weeks for me), or I just got used to it. My biggest complaint is the home button is annoying to press with one hand and sometimes even with two. If I'm not mistaken, the Seidio cases follow the outline of the home button, making it easier to press.

Dean you better come this friday.
i'm not a big fan of the blue otterbox nightsky... this is the case i have(with my white gs3). It looks pretty nice.. Picked it up in the sprint store for a decent price compared to online.
i'd paste the image here but it's against XDA's TOS because i'm not at 10 posts yet.. apparently i'm not cool enough yet so i attatched the image here.
Grey and white ftw! :good:
I ordered the atomic case. Will post pics. Should be here today.

Hey, just wanted to give you guys a quick look of this case I purchased recently- in case there are some of you who might be in the market for a decent looking yet inexpensive case.

Front and Back shots of the case's design. The S-Line is what separates the 2 texture/materials. BTW, I have the GSM nexus, not sure how it will fit for CDMA/LTE/ETC.
The material on the sides of the case is a bumpy rubber, allowing a more firm grip. The case material layers over the POWER and VOLUME buttons, the VOLUME side has 2 different bumps that are separated into + and - resulting in a more natural feel. The POWER button layover however, doesn't really return a tactile response when you press it, not a huge issue- more of a personal pet peeve i guess.
There is a slight lip that surrounds the front of the phone so you won't have to worry about scratching your screen if you lay it face down. The lip won't provide rock hard protection but it is better than nothing and it should be able to absorb some of the shock if it were to fall face first.
All the areas of the phone have proper cutouts
pogo pins
headphone jack
bottom mic
micro-usb slot
speaker
camera
top mic
not sure what that 2-hole area is below the speaker is, maybe its for attaching those string phone key-chains or whatever.
Overall, for the price I feel that this case isn't too bad, besides the PWR button pet peeve I have, I would recommend this case. I can't compare it to other cases yet, but maybe I will once I get the urge to purchase more cases. it can happen.
I got it off amazon for about $11 USD ...

Looks pretty sweet! I'm using (and have been using) the otterbox case for a year now and I'm looking for something different. Something that looks nice even though it may not provide as much protection as the otterbox. Unfortunately I was using a different case for about a week or so and my phone fell face first onto the street. The screen was fine, however there are some noticeable nicks on the top and sides now, so I'm looking for a cover that goes around the whole phone.
How long did it take to arrive? Does it only come in black? I see the other colors on the amazon page but it doesn't give the option to choose a different color when you try to buy, unless I missed it.
Thanks for the review!

Nice! I used to have Prime, but it expired and I don't really want to spend $39 right now to renew, so I think I'd have to do $5 extra for shipping, but i think it' worth it since Verizon charges like $25 for a plain old cover.
Thanks for adding the new colors btw! I can't decide which color to choose, lol.
These are only about a dollar on ebay.

good find but tbh not everybody uses ebay.
Just wanted to post and say that I got this case! I'd do my own review, but honestly the OP's review is spot on. The only "issue" I would bring up (as did the OP) is the power button response. Sometimes I'm not sure if I hit the power button or not, but it's really not as big of a deal as it sounds. I'd give it a 8.5/10 and it's worth a purchase if you need a case.
I also got the same color as the one in the pictures above, so I can't comment on the other colors, but you can't go wrong with any imo.
I have a similar case and looking for one for my daughter. I think I will get her this one as she wants to keep it as slim as possible and I believe they will work with the extended battery, just a bit snugger is all. Now to find a screen protector, augh, so many choices...

Why not? $1 ebay vs $11 amazon? Looks the same item. Or is it?

Was anyone else able to purchase a Nexus 5 bumper case? When I ordered my phone from the play store all of the cases EXCEPT the gray bumper said "coming soon". I assumed it was a glitch on googles website so I purchased the gray bumper to see what would happen (expected a "sorry this is backordered email").
But! Sure enough I just received my shipping confirmation email for both the phone and bumper case. Am I the only one? Just curious if this happened for anyone else?
How are you able to purchase the bumper when it says coming soon? How did you add to cart?

I find it odd that they're calling it a "bumper" case - I went to check it out because I hadn't already and it's a full body minus the display cover, when the concept of a "bumper" case means it's just "a big rubber band" of sorts that covers the edges of the phone.
I see it, I find it interesting in a way I suppose, but for $35 I'd spend my money on one of those Spigen Slim Armor cases myself - their Neo Hybrid one is pretty nice as well and still cheaper than the bumper from Google.
It's amazing just how much money these companies are making from these cases nowadays... few cents worth of raw materials, some CAD work to design 'em, few bucks for fabrication and packaging costs, wham bam profits man!
Also: that "red" one ain't red, that's orange... weird.

When I first went to the page. The gray one said "in stock - ships in 1/2 days". I assumed it was a hiccup since the other colors said "coming soon". But I purchased it anyways... And I just received my shipping info for both the case and phone... Weirrrrd. I feel like I'm the only one? Hah

The bumper case is actually a hybrid case with a hard shell on the outside. I think they call it a "bumper" because the back is plastic and the edges are rubber inside... Either way I'm hoping its quality. I guess we'll see when it arrives Tuesday with the phone.

So basically it's a copycat of something from Diztronic like this:
http://tpu-cases.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=46_99&products_id=368
$35 for the Google bumper or... $10 (or less on Amazon) for the Diztronic, I wonder, I wonder. I could understand and deal with $19.99 for the Google one, but $35? Man, they must be learning from Apple nowadays or something.
I ordered one of these a few days ago, should be here on Tuesday:
http://www.amazon.com/SUPCASE-Google-Unicorn-Premium-Protective/dp/B00FN13EJK
Had one for my Galaxy S4 Active and loved it, it's such an awesome case, perfect tight fit, not loose anywhere at all. And it's a hard plastic shell (the yellow portion) merged with the TPU material (dark grey).

That appears to be a plain old TPU case... I have a diztronic tpu case for my N4. Googles bumper is hard plastic and rubber. A bit different. Doesn't justify the price... You definitely pay for the brand "Google". But hey... I'm a fanboy. I was just curious who was able to purchase one.

I was also able to order one as well. Shipped out at the same time as my Nexus 5.
I managed to order at 11:06pst, but then saw the bumper was available. So I ordered again at 11:13am with the bumper to save on shipping.
I also got the gray case, it shipped at the same time as the phone but with a separate tracking number. I know it's expensive but the LG bumper for the Nexus 4 was so sweet and kept my N4 in perfect condition through much abuse. So if this one is as good, it's worth it in my opinion

Same tracking number for me.
If I'm ordering an accessory without any reviews it will be a first party accessory.
Both should be here Tuesday or Wednesday. My new micro sim from StraightTalk won't be here until Tuesday so I'm not in a huge rush.
I tried and it was greyed out darn it. I'll buy one from someone if they don't like it

Looking foward to some more reviews. AC has the first one up:
http://www.androidcentral.com/nexus-5-bumper-case
hmm from looking at the AC images... kind of wish I'd waited for the black one, instead of getting the gray one. oh well, looks pretty sturdy and protective
I don't know why they aren't released yet. However, I will get the black one when I can. Yes it is a lot but I'm also a Google fanboy lmao
I wish they made a true bumper like they did for the nexus 4. It was such a great fit and made with quality, that will be hard to find in 3rd party cases.
My N5 and gray bumper showed up today. The bumper is great! the back is hard plastic and the sides are soft rubber... hence the name "bumper" im assuming.

mine came today also. though the case has grown on me, it does add some bulk. the back does not taper to the curves of the nexus. has a very slight trapeziodial-like shape. it seems that google was going for a simple block look. seems that it will protect from falls. buttons don't have the feedback that i look for though they're easy to press.
edit: the case is a snug fit and does had some grip that's missing from the panda nex.
can recommend this case.

I'm really loving the case as well. May seem over priced... however it fits really well and the materials feel top quality. headphone hole is a good size, adds a lot of grip. and its nice looking! The gray color almost comes off white... which is actually a pleasant surprise for me.
Heres some pics of the N5 in the Bumper for anyone interested. (not the greatest quality... taken with my Nexus 4)
