Looking for XDA guy from Craigslist: I bought a Galaxy S2 from you

Hopefully this isn't against the forum rules.
I'm looking for someone, I bought a T-Mobile Galaxy S2 from you off Craigslist yesterday. We were supposed to meet up today so I could pick up the box and accessories but I realized now that you don't have a phone anymore, I don't know how to reach you. You gave me your XDA username in case I needed to reach you but I'm an idiot and forgot it.
If you see this, could you PM me so I could get the box, the case piece, the receipt, charger, and extra battery from you?

Lol, well, I paid him already.
But I do already have the phone, and the case, and the extra screen protector.
The box/receipt/extra part for the case/USB charger/extra battery seems like a weird thing to rip someone off over.
Heh, maybe I'll wait until tomorrow before I go nuts. From his XDA user name I found his Twitter and Google Plus accounts and contacted him on all of them. He's pretty active on XDA.
On the downside, he did mention when I met him yesterday he was leaving the country on Saturday....
On the other downside, he did mention on his Twitter dropping his phone and it slipping under the wheel of a car right before I bought it from him....

If there's one silver lining to my situation, I suppose it's that it seems to be bringing joy to the people of this thread.
Sadly, everything I stated is true.

Wow, this story just gets better and better. Lucky for you, you can always do a warranty exchange if something is wrong with the phone.

Even though he sold you his phone, didn't he keep his sim card? his number should be unchanged...... unless he just totally went off the radar and decided he didn't need a cell phone anymore or switched providers without porting the number.

Samsung is horrible with orders. On thursday morning I ordered a few accessories using their 19.99 next day shipping and it still hasnt been shipped. They also charged my card twice. Im calling them on weds to see whats up with my order and why Ive been charged twice.

Day/Night mode. Calling specific people when I need to... etc..
I'm hoping to be able to add blocking mode.. but apparently it's too new and app devs haven't added that functionality to their nfc tag writing apps... yet..

i broke my spen in half by not paying attention when I jumped on my bed ....
it was under a blanket ....

I've seen this situation occur on every Galaxy device I've ever owned. Vibrant, S2, different carriers, now ths Note.
I recommend when you want to donate money to a developer, ask them directly for their donation preference. Or you'll end up in a thread like this where the guy who was supposed to be in charge doesnt even know where people's money magically went.
Not accusing anyone, just stating the facts.
I remember this 12 year old kid hustling thousands out of people when the S2 came out, he used multiple accounts to "talk up" other accounts that were wannabe developers for false hope donations.
Kinda just comical at this point.

Seeing how the other Developer in these forums received his Donated Note 8.0 with no problem I highly doubt there will be an issue here.
That said, I would think it would be better to just donate to the Dev himself and let him order it. E-Bay ships all over.

Want baked? I'm considering one of these or the Sony Tablet Z, a donation could go along way towards my decision!

Not yet, last I asked the people at the post office here on Saturday, they said that it would take 15-20days, despite the priority shipping. Anyways its been around 11 days, so shouldn't be too far now.

Ignore that it says Note 10.1. I tried with my Note 2 and S3 and it worked. You might want to give it a shot with your Samsung devices and see if it works.
If you are on 4.1.2 ROMs, you can get your S/N from Settings->About Device->Status->Serial Number. Otherwise pull it from behind your battery

EDIT: GOT IT JUST TOOK OUT MY BATTERY & LOOKED THERE.

I've tried it with my Verizon s3 and att s3....it just keeps saying invalid

Remove your battery and look for the Serial behind it, that should work. As far as I know , 4.3 ROM's dont list the serial number

Is it saying the Serial is invalid or some other field is? Are you sure you took the Serial # from behind your battery?

Apparently people were able to do this unlimited times using altered serial numbers until a short while ago.

The sn on my Verizon didn't work.....I know why...cause I already registered that with Samsung when I got my phone.....then I switched to T-Mobile and my friend gave me her s3 from at&t....which is a refurb.....so the sticker on the back of the phone got switched out for a refurb sticker and the numbers on the sticker dont work. The sn that is in this phone doesn't look like any other s3 sn.

OK folks, all Samsung is wanting is for users to register their own devices, we are not going to allow users to start discussing the sharing of or other fraudulent actions in order to fool the mother ship of their program awards.
This is nothing more than the "Register for your Galaxy Perks" program, nothing really new other than there are new devices and most users probably never registered to begin with.
If it didn't or doesn't work for you, odds are you have already registered ???

Funny... I received my promo code for the Play Store credit but when I try to redeem it, it says it can't be applied in my country (I'm in Canada)...

As far as I know, Play Store credits work only in the US.

Definitely will be looking in to it,...but have to wonder, how much of a PITA will it be to get a replacement for warranty purposes.

For $300 bucks, I will get one to compliment my note 3. Hope to get invite and work on ATT LTE network.

You get to invite a friend to buy another for just a buck also if you get the invite. I will gladly smash my note 3 and get two of these for a buck each.
And if they let you choose the 64Gb version for $50, I would still take that deal.

I.........know!My thought remain the same,was discussion on OPO,i think it will be an opponent of next google device instead of Note 3

Specs aside, you have me on the fact this is made to flash custom ROMs without the manufacturer or carrier bloat.
It's about time a company says, "here is a high end device. We are going to give you some awesome features, but if you want, do with as you will... And BTW, here is how you do it."
If the phone had the same specs as the gs4 and had this idea I would buy it. Just the idea behind it is what sold it for me. I will be getting one whether or not I get it for a $1

Non replaceable battery killed it for me.

I'd prefer a SD card slot, as I carry a lot of music, and don't like cloud.
Id buy one, just to try something new, not so sure about this invite option. I'd figure any company would want to have full availability as soon as possible.
