On rebooting device 'ANDROID IS UPGRADING' - Galaxy Grand Duos i9082 Themes and Apps

Whenever I reboot my device after the samsung logo animation my screen always displays" ANDROID IS UPGRADING-starting apps "!
which is quite a bit irritating.Pls someone help.I dont want that thing.

If you're on CM based rom then you see this message after boot & its normal thing.
when you add some mods / clear catch / did something with your CWM / any recovery then this message popup after boot,
this means its rechecking all updated apps & preparing your device for use.

The tweaks that you might have flashed through recovery might be causing this.
Some tweak scripts zipalign on every boot and others edit and apply values into your system on each boot. This would make your phone say "Android is upgrading" on each boot

I think you needa delete dalvik cache

i found out that a setting in Link2SD can reproduce that problem, it's Relink dex files at boot. If it is checked it will show android is upgrading every boot but if unchecked it does not show. i hope this helps

clr cache n dalvic cache
i could work

I was scouring xda for a fix to my problem for days.... I had recently deodexed my stock ROM on Sony Xperia T2 Ultra, and my link2sd had that checked ... so I had that frustrating problem. Thanks a ton

Easiest way imo would be to reflash with the stock rom. use flashtool http://androxyde.github.com/

I have the same issue, but I am running cm10 146a with gapps from android 4.2. After I installed gapps it begun to do this every boot. But I didn't noticed any problems.
Have you guys cleared cache/dalvik cache? That's like rule number one after flashing

its the mod you have installed
I Hav Been Using This Mod From 2 Months It Never Happened Before.. Actually I Reinstalled The Same Mod And From That Time Its Happening .. But I Dnt Think So This All Happened Becoz Of That Mod..
Or May Be This Mod Has Done Somethng Wrong With Other Thing Which Is Clearing The Cache On Every Boot..
And Yes I Cleared The Dalvik Cache But Its The Same..

I think it has to do with the init.d scripts.
Did you add init.d support, then probably the script pertaining to dalvik is the culprit. Remove it and all will be ok.

[Q] "Android is upgrading" every boot

hi all,
every time i boot up my phone i get the "android is upgrading" message...
i already searched the forum for a solution but non worked...
- re installed titanium backup - didn't work
- wiped dalvik and cache and fixed permission - didnt work
- some people suggested deleting titanium's odex file - i cant seem to find it in /data/app (the one which is on root level)
- even full wipe wont help, it'll work fine on 1st boot but after the phone is setup i'll get the message again
i could really use some help >.<

its rebuilding your dalvik at every boot. did you flash any mod? it could also be your rom/kernel if it has a dalvik wipe script included. some devs like to trick you into believing that their mod/rom/kernel is the fastest, so they delete you dalvik on every boot. this makes it appear, yes only appear, like their stuff is extra fast. but in reality, its just a clean dalvik. also, check your init.d folder such scripts.

it should happen after flashing a new rom, or when you clear your dalvik. check if there is a init.d folder with such a script. a wipe doesnt get rid of the init.d folder, just user data.

you are using a 4.1.x rom and kernel? i just talked to Francisco Franco, he said his older kernels used to wipe dalvik upon boot.
I have similar problem. I wiped dalvik, and now it gives me Starting apps message every time it's loading. I know it's normal for apps to start lol, but I never had constant notification for it :/

Hmm using Franco 283...
But when I do a full wipe the kernel is wiped as well isn't it?

maybe a rom/cpu control app with a wipe dalvik option?
Again, full wiping would delete these apps...
Maybe tomorrow I'll try installing an older version of the Rom... I hope it'll work cause this is starting to get frustrating

Do a factory reset and dalvik and system wipe from recovery.
Then flash stock rom.

I think there's a command line to input through ADB on your pc to your phone, search it. Your best bet is to use toolkit 3.0 for note 2.

X crashes all processes upon startup

Hi Xda,
I was working on putting a custom ROM on my one x as a result of it being slow.
everything started out fine, bootloader was unlocked fairly easy, gaining perm root as well.
however after a couple of tries I haven't been able to get a custom rom working properly. it will start up the system, passed the startup, then as soon as the first start screen opens up, every possible process starts crashing. (the only really visible crash is com.android.phone, however as soon as I click "ok" it will pop-up again within a second)
I've done the following:
Remove lock,
gain root access,
install CWM
downloaded ROM and Gapps (put it on the SD card)
performed a full wipe (Dalvik Cache, factory Reset)
install ROM and Gapps.
after this the problems started occurring.
a few solutions i tried:
1. I've retried the above process and included the boot.img loading using fastboot, then clearing the cache again.
2. I've wiped all possible data using the "superwipescript"
3. tried a different ROM which gave me the exact same errors.
atm i'm getting desperate because I've run out of options.
Is there a workaround for this problem?
Thanks in Advance!

[Q] Phone was fine, ran out of battery, now "System Ui Has stopped" every few seconds
Hey,
Note 2 running PACMAN rom, android 4.3.
I woke up and checked it at 8am, no problems at all. Went to use it at 1pm and it had run out of battery. I plugged it into my computer to charge it, turned it on and it said "System UI has stopped. Blame Tyler" - and continues to do this every time you press OK, with about a 3 second gap in between each one.
I restart my phone quite regularly and I don't think I've installed anything that could be causing this. I've disabled XPosed but same problem. Any other ideas? Otherwise I'll have to just wipe it and start again, perhaps with CM. I need a working phone for tomorrow though!
Cheers

This seems quite sinisiter - thanks for the suggestion but it hasn't worked, and it's unearthed something more concerning about the state of my phone (the TWRP messages, see below). Can't believe I didn't think to do that myself though! (I haven't messed around with ROMs for quite a while so am out of practice, I've had this one for a few months).
Delvik cache completed, then said something like "updating partition details. E: Error opening '/data/system/...." I/O Error" and various APKs - one of which was system UI. Wiping the cache again told me done, but loads of errors of similar APKs (This time in /data/data/ though). This sounds incredibly ominous though and I've never seen that error before in any of the wipes or anything I've done.
Restarted it but the system UI error messages persist. I want to wipe and install a fresh ROM but I'm worried I'm going to be left with a totally useless phone if things won't wipe or flash properly. Any ideas would be great.
