[Q] camera icon in 4.4 kitkat? - Nexus 7 (2013) Q&A

Hello, I'm new to the nexus 7. I've just sideloaded 4.4 kitkat to the n7.
The problem(?) I have is that I don't see the camera icon on the lockscreen.
Is that normal or is the a setting for that?

I don't have it either. I believe it's like that on the Nexus 5.

[Q] [Jelly Bean] Nexus 7 UI on Galaxy Nexus?

Hi!
While the Nexus 7 UI is a disappointment for many people, I think it would be a great alternative for our Galaxy Nexus!
Has anyone got an idea how to get that UI on our phones (of course only with the leaked version of Jelly Bean running)?
Just changing the density doesn't work. But maybe it would work to replace the framework and SystemUI.apk with the ones from the Nexus 7 system dump?

do note.. that nexus 7 does not use the tablet UI, it uses regular phone ui. The notification bar on the nexus 7 is on the top not on the bottom i have no idea why...but that's the way it is.

u mean 192 no longer goes to tablet ui..looks like the changed the formula then...wonder what tablet mode is for n7 (theres a formulae, usually, which has the devices resolution and native DPI as the variables)

I tried 192 dpi. I think that's not the same. First Nexus 7 uses 213 dpi, that's not that small.
But a big difference is that on Nexus 7 the navigation bar always stays at the bottom as it seemed on the keynote. On my Galaxy Nexus it is always on the short side of the display. Just one difference.
The main point is that Nexus 7 runs the apps in Tablet mode.

n7 also has some important differences like notification pull down being only a portion of the full bar (which happens with Gnexus with 180 or 192 DPI), and also if you turn n7 into portrait (to be confirmed it turns 2 pane apps (like people) into 1 pane only). EVEYRTHING else works in 180DPI on Gnexus, even the new UIs for youtube etc, EXCEPT the pane switching.

[Q] how to get asus floating apps on nexus 7

The biggest feature that the Asus memo hd7 has for me over the nexus 7 is the Asus floating app bar.
Just clicking on the floating app bar icon gives you a little dock full of floating apps available for true multitasking.
Any idea how to get this feature on the new nexus 7?
Might be as simple as pushing apks... But most likely would involve some framework files... ie serious devving and porting.

[Q] Quick toggles

Hey guys, I've been using a ROM on my Nexus 5 which includes configurable toggles, which you can add or remove from the standard ones, is there a mod or APK I can install to add this to my Nexus 7 as it's one of the few but essential items I need.
So does anyone know?
thanks.

Xposed + Gravitybox. Or flash a Rom with build-in customizable Quick toggles
Can you recommend a ROM for the nexus 7, I've used cataclysm on the nexus 5 I want something as close to that but I've yet to find something close enough.

I'm in a similar boat.
Looking for an N713 ROM which is like Cataclysm on N5 - any suggestions?

[Q] How to delete screens on Nexus 7 2013

Just bought a Nexus 7 2013, but I am unable to delete extra screen. Does anyone know how to delete screens?
I have been an Android user for awhile and I always had option to manage my screen, this is the first time Im unable to manage my screen.
Any help appreciated
Thanks
If you are referring to the new KitKat launcher, then you have to remove all of the content from the screen. Annoying....very.

I have the same problem, I have removed all icons on the extra page and it is still there, anyone know a solution for that?

Give me a minute...
Edit: Strange...I removed all of the icons and the widgets from the page, and it is deleted instantly. Are you trying to remove the screen on the far right, or is it one in between?
Edit: The position of the screen doesn't seem to matter. Not sure what to problem is, guys...

There are five by default screens and you cannot remove any of them.

My bad. I never asked which launcher. I assumed that this was in reference to the GEL Launcher.
To the OP, why not use Apex or Nova launcher? It looks EXACTLY the same until you customize it, and it allows you to manage your screens. For that matter, I don't recall if the default launcher ever mellowed you to manage your screens since it's introduction in ICS.
