You can use setCPU if you're rooted. That's what I use. Someone on here has some tweaks that some like to use too.

Landscape works everywhere except the home screen. [that's AOSP]. You can install a custom launcher like Apex, Nova, Go etc. and landscape would work on the homescreen too.
I've been using Jandycane and so far batt life has been good.
One thing I can suggest is NOT using animated wallpapers. They look awesome, but really task the CPU, which drains the battery.

I dont think hash and lithium have added cpu control yet, but twa's CM10 port has it and its a great rom so far, no bugs that i have found yet
even google now works
Jandycane has better battery? Any other advantages over hashcode's rom?

Hi guys,
Is it possible to overclock the Kindle Fire with CM10 to 1.3,1.4 or 1.5 Ghz?
Is it possible to overclock the GPU?
Thanks for viewing this thread.
Thanks for answering.
Search. CPU in play store.
You can crank it up in till it don't work no more.
Just don't set use on reboot option in till you sure.

It doesn't work
Ok.Thanks
Ive tried to install a different boot animation and installed and different rom but nothing has worked.
If you are running cm10.1 that is a known bug that you can't do anything about.
You really need to be more clear in what your problem is, and what you want to know.

ok thanks for the info, I will take that into consideration.
Just installed cm10.1 by hash code on my rooted kindle fire 2. Battery life is good, but just wondering if anybody has any suggestions on how to make it better. I tried to adjust the brightness of the screen and it does not appear to work. Anyone less having this issue? Thanks!

You can try different cpu governors or underclock the cpu

Yes, that is a possibility. But without hindering performance, is there any other ways? Has anybody else experienced the brightness setting does not work on cm10.1?

Try the sgt7 rom by PowerPoint.
It's more up to date and configurable.
Edit: I've also been using the hotplug governor lately with no noticeable performance hit and much better battery (at least for the two days I've been on it)
It mostly seems to help your second core shutdown faster when the screen is off.
