Ever since I got my Nexus 5, I have not been able to get Zooper Widgets and Media Utilities to work right. When I use a media player widget skin, the title, song and artist sections do not update! These worked for me before on my HTC One, so I'm thinking this could be an issue with 4.4 KitKat. Is there a fix for this?

Wait for the 4.4 compatible update of MU. The dev said he is working on it and it should be released in the coming weeks.

There's an update now in the Play store that adds support for 4.4. I just did a quick test and it works. It does require a lot more permissions than the previous version and Notification Access needs to be enabled for it to work properly.

Its an alpha rom and gallery issues are one of the known bugs there wont be a fix til an update for the rom is released or someone finds a work around one way is to try a different gallery app from the market besides the stock one and scrolling wont be fixes until the rom is updated it someone builds a fix for it

trying to push my music from my phone to a sonos player also will not work with the yamaha app music shows up hangs and moves to next track with any player i try pls help would love for this to work again

Like I said ALL ICS ROMS ARE IN ALPHA STAGES THINGS ARE GONNA BE BROKEN some things will work sometimes and not work others some things wont work at all until they are fixed or new drivers are coded and compiled these ics ROMs are being built from the ground up for the evo there are no official drivers for this phone and never will be as we aren't getting the update officially its going to take time coding software doesn't occur over night it takes anywhere from a few hours to months to get stuff working on hardware that isn't officially supported
I've been running an alternate launcher called "Nova". Instructions on how to install are on the thread. I find this launcher to be more stable plus it has more options available right now, including centered scrolling wallpaper. Just search Nova Launcher if this tag doesn't work...I'm a greenhorn..

Hi to all. I have problem with xbmc and my nexus 7 2013. After update of kitkat it seems that the only working versions are the latest night builds of gotham xbmc. But almost all addons are incompatible or videos not working. Is there any pached froyo or gotham version working with addons?

I am going to try to find a working version tonight. I can tell you about Gotham that when it says things are broken in repository, its not really true. The addons just have not been updated to reflect gotham, but when it asks you if you want to disable the addon, just say no, most will still work. Use the xbmchub wizard to make things easier.

if addon is not compatible i can't even install it! Broken is different case.With last updates in nightly builds almost all addons are incompatible, not broken. When you make your tests too please inform me.
xbmchub gives the same or worst results...
I have a Gotham xbmc version that works on my nexus 5. Nightly yes, but it stool works OK. It is named xbmc-2013114-nexus5-master-armeabi-v7a

That nightly is the 11/14 or 11/15 nightly. My tablet died and I got busy with an emergency right now so I don't know what nightly I have on my nexus 7 but was able to use video add ons before with no issue. The program NaviX was force closing on me when I picked a play list. I get the messages that addons are incompatible, do you want to disable them, I choose no and they still work fine.

they changed something i xbmc development and almost all addons are off and i can't install them. Also xbmc subtitles addon is not in the repos!
I also can't find a decent one that doesn't begin telling me everything is broke or not working/compatible. They say they will have a working version for all android platfoms soon. I doubt it.
it seems that xbmc support is too poor! how to test their alpha images if we have not working addons? let's wait...
Any updates on this? I just got the nightly working, but every (most) plugin is incompatible and won't let me install them.

I'm using the latest nightly (xbmc-20131211-210cf9f-master-armeabi-v7a.apk) from the 11 December from http://ftp.heanet.ie/mirrors/xbmc/nightlies/android/arm/
Most of the add-ons do not work but I haven't had any issues with sound on video playback like most of the other versions.
One I've found was DEC 6 nightly build. Doesn't force close every two minutes maybe once or twice a day. When you get the not working errors just cancel them. Everything works fine from my end. Not moving from this build. Most stable I found.

Same issue here.
Official answer is to use Nightlies, but XBMC automatically marks ALL addons on nightlies as incompatible whether or not it is actually true. Makes nightlies pretty goddamned worthless, and they won't vary from their "monthly" release schedule even for a major compatibility fix.
So basically if you use XBMC... don't ever upgrade your OS version.
One way to get various addons to work is to use the xbmchub wizard from xbmchub.com. When XBMC tells you addons are marked as broken, do you want to disable, just say no to each one. Annoying, but so far other than Navi X I can use my addons without issue.

I have no sound through the speakers on all apps wen xbmc is installed only have sound with headphones

so in my brief time with the galaxy s5, I saw how Samsung decided to remove lock screen widgets which irked me. I see they're continuing their antics with the tab s series.
this makes things like Google music and Netflix useless when using chromecast etc because it removes the easy way to just pause and skip via the lockscreen.
I installed xposed and installed a Galaxy S5 mod that was supposed to enable lock screen widgets again, which I'm sure it did for the s5 users but it doesn't work on the tab.
does anyone have any idea or solution as to the best way to do this? there has to be a way.

Same here, have you found a work around? I mean just listening to music makes it harder to just pause and restart. Always need to make pattern, very annoying!

Lockscreen Widgets for rooted Users
Guys, do we have a solution in the meantime or still have to install an alternate launcher ? I am on SkyHigh ROM 4.4.2. and want to stay there for the next months...
I thought @THEDEVIOUS1 (he did it on his ROM) and maybe @Goldie (he did it on the s5 I think) might have a solution for us ?

I try to use zooper widget pro with media utilities and if i check USE ALTERNATIVE DATA COLLECTION i have the name of the artist and the name of the song working but not the cover art! If i uncheck it, the cover art is displayed but the name of the artist and the song are not refresh anymore............. is there someone who knows how to solve it?
I'm on Lolipop with a nexus 5, and i try to make it work with google music but it's the same with poweramp

MU and Lollipop don't go so well together as I heard from multiple sources and the problems between MU and Poweramp are older than that.

When i use themer launcher, everything works fine so it's a bug related to MU for me

Not that I know of. I'm not on Lollipop yet myself, so I don't have any first-hand experience. MU probably needs to be adapted to the newer APIs on Lollipop but as the updates have crawled to a halt (for the standalone MU at least), I don't know if we can ever expect that update to come.

Too bad First time i try zooper and music widget is broken
I've found where the problem is, but unfortunatelly i can't resolve it
It's working when the music is ON my phone with google music, but it doesn't work when the music is streamed from internet with google music.... Too bad
The latest update to Chrome (webview) on March 6th breaks the HTC Mail app. It will FC or crash when trying to reply or compose. The app's reviews are taking a beating in the app store over it because folks are not associating it to the Chrome update but rather think HTC broke it somehow. To fix - roll back (Uninstall) Chrome. I hope this helps a few folks.

Thank you soooo much for this info! I was getting desperate. I uninstalled Chrome updates, turned off auto-update, then rebooted. HTC Mail reply/reply all function now working again. For clarity, this is for an unlocked HTC-10 with the lastest Android 8.0 update package. Although the Android update was performed at least three weeks ago, the mail app only started to crash yesterday (at least as far as the first time I detected the crash behavior). This is the first real root cause solution I've found. Thanks again!

Just use Gmail app guys. It is decent and, most importantly, stays up-to-date.
Still present in Chrome Beta 66.0.3359.30 selecting it as the webview handler in developer options.
If HTC are expecting Google to revert whatever they have done, will be a long wait. Fortunately they tend to release new versions with new devices so we will hopefully only have to wait that long.

I don't use HTC Mail app, or I'd test it myself.

Uninstalled updates for Chrome, and installed this version manually https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/chrome/chrome-64-0-3282-137-release/
That's the version just prior to the breaking one. Everything seems to be working fine. Disabled auto-update as well.

Also still broken with 10.80 but thats also older than this Chrome update, truly do hope HTC are on the case with it tho!
I can see a suggestion this is fixed in Chrome 66.0.3359.33 and beyond:

So will be fixed at some point at least!
So the issue is gone with both the latest beta and canary versions but as I understand it, this is a workaround by Google and something HTC still need to fix.
If I use an API in my application and the API changes, I need to change my application and not wait for the API to change back (will not happen)...
HTC needs to fix this, not Google. They could even push code to the Chromium project, but it would be better if they took a look at HTC Mail first...
Also it is NOT an option to uninstall updates, ever. Updates are there for a reason
