Is there any camera app that gives you absolute control over the camera?
I'd want more manual settings, like aperture speed etc. No camera app that I have tried actually gives you that.
Even Focal doesn't give any better control...

Tried it. Doesn't give manual control over aperture or shutter speed.
You can't control aperture on a sensor that doesn't have variable aperture.
Shutter speed is related to camera firmware that can't be controled by a unsigned app.

Hey, has anyone tested the Manual Camera compatibility test or the Manual Camera app itself? Or any other recent app using Camera 2 API. Footej Camera for example, does changing ISO, SS, Aperture, F stops work and etc?... I've looked through the threads and found some diverse opinions regarding its implementation on the phone =/
cheers
Manual Camera is fully supported and I can change everything.
Footej Camera does not offer any manual settings for ISO, SS... on my OP3.
Are they hidden somewhere?
F stops can't be changed because smartphones all have a fixed aperture.
You can change ISO, shutter-speed, manual focus, white balance (fixed values only).

I used f stops instead of exposure compensation, my mistake. Thanks for the response though
Regarding Footej Camera, I think they are supposed to be the yellow highlighted settings on this image: https://photos.google.com/share/AF1...?key=dnFjdWkwUmstZWxwMEQzMkZVM2FTbHVGbm96Slp3

These are not settings that can be changed.
They show you which iso and shutter speed is being used for the picture in real-time.
When you move the camera around, they change immediately.
I've been trying to use any of the cm customs roms and trying to use a camera app with shutter adjustment but none of the camera apps have working shutter adjustments. Has anyone found a camera app with it working?
Which apps did you try so far, in case others are having the same question?
Did you try manual camera?
You can test all features

The camera apps that support shutter speed (ProShot, Manual Camera, etc.) display the shutter speed but when you take a picture it doesn't actually work.

+1, and fv 5.
These cam apps (shutter speed) also don't work on stock OOS.

Manual camera with shutter speed works fine on my device running oos 3.2.2.
Just tried manual again and it doesn't work on 3.2.2.... App works but shutter speed freezes or just doesn't take a picture.

Try playing around with the iso and shutter-speeds a bit. I just now noticed that I have the same issue as you.
But, after a short time the app starts taking pictures as intended with various ISO and shutter-speed values.
I really don't know why it behaves like that and it used to work right after start with previous OOS versions.
Hi guys! Can anyone please tell me the shutter speed and ISO range available in whyred using open camera/ footej camera? I just want to ensure that the device has support for long exposure photography. Thanks in advance, screenshots are appreciated.
Yes. The phone supports the features you mentioned and I use them by downloading third party apps like Footej camera, Camera FV-5, open camera etc

I know it supports manual mode. But I need the range. For eg, the shutter speed range of Redmi Note 3 is 1/1000 to 1/2 seconds. Whereas, higher end phones can keep the shutter open for even 30 seconds. Can you please give me the range? :|

I am guessing you are using FV-5....
If so, I don't really think FV-5, or any other camera app in this case, can take photos with this device (and probably with most MIUI devices) surpassing the 'hard' max shutter time that Xiaomi imposed to the camera stack.
In fact, I've tried using 30 seconds exposures with fixed 100 ISO setting and the images were darker than using fixed 100 ISO and auto shutter.

Does anyone know which is the best camera app for Video Recording. Gcam has aggressive continuous autofocus and I didn't any option to turn it off.
Anyone here who can help?
The stock cam has the tap to focus setting which will stop the autofocus hunting.

You can check, I don't know if Moto camera is better than stock camera.
Open camera with stabilization enabled. By far the best. You can shoot bit rate and lock exposure.
Is there a camera app, possibly a modification of the stock camera Google Camera app, that allows for full-fledged manual operations and control?
I mean an app that allows you to control the camera like a DSLR. Of course without the aperture and the focal length..
Thanks in advance
Try proshot on the app store

The only 3 I can recommend at this time. Don't waste your money on camera fv-5 until the developers show they wanna keep their app you to date... hasn't been updated since Sept of last year. There's bugs and I wouldn't count on support at this point.
Also, don't waste your money on manual camera as it to is buggy and very inconsistent updates.

But isn't there a modified version of the stock camera that allows for manual controls? I want hdr+ so badly?
I have heard that the Nokia camera app is coming soon to all android phones. That would be the best manual camera app. Just wait for a bit more.
