I am thinking to get G pad 8.3 but i want to know about battery life ,screen time on how long it will take.

Around 5 hours with the screen always on. WiFi internet browsing with screen at 40%brightness.

It is for me because I use the thing everyday. My Transformer Infinity would last a couple of days on a charge because I never used it since there was so much lag. The G Pad is so good that I actually look forward to using it over my G2 whenever possible. That wasn't the case with my Infinity.

Same here! The best way I describe battery life is as follows:
Other tablets I've had: 99%, 73%, 49%, 31%, 11% Charge Battery
G Pad: 100%, 100%, 100%, 96%, 89%, 84%, 79%, 76%, 69%, 61%, 53%, 48%, 39%...etc etc etc : )
This tablets sips juice like a "fine classy lady at a cocktail party!"....(pinky raised and everything!) lol

As it stands I'm getting around 5hours screen on before it goes below 10%, well below a nexus 7 where I'm get almost 7 hours of similar use.

Amazing how the focus on android tablets is not on battery, compare this to apple products and they always aim for 10 hours.

The new iPad mini comes with a even bigger battery that the old one, reason why it is slightly thicker and heavier.
I have all sorts of tablets, iPad last longest when it comes to browsing and standby, nexus 7 use is 2 days my lg g pad is one day, I find each has their selling point and sometimes I sacrifice battery for other things.
Battery life ok
It is off course difficult to say since consumption is very dependent on use.
In my case it is the screen that uses by far most power - around 70-80% I think.
I have light on auto and 50-100% on the slider and it generaly uses 10% pr hour of use.
When I don't use the tab and wifi is off it uses virtualy nothing and I think it would run for days
And how fast it charges...
Slow as hell, 4 to 5 hours from empty to full.

Charging Time line while sitting on my desk
9am - 5% start
9:30 - 20%
10am - 44%
11am - 75%
Looks like a full charge by 11:30am. So from 5-100% in 2.5 hours.
5 hours screen on for me for GPE
I just got it, first day I got 5 hours screen on time in 24 hour period and it was down to 10% when I charged it. Then it charged about 12% in 2 hours so I unplugged it and right back in and it started charging faster after that. Once charged it seems to go from 100%-90% fairly quickly then it levels out.
I'm not complaining about idle time...
I almost always use my tablets and phones with the brightness under 25 percent of maximum; that being said, I cruised through an entire weekend with the G Pad without searching for a charge, and that’s pretty impressive.

I'm using an LTE Nexus with the official Sammy ext. Battery, yet my battery life is ****. After playing temple run for about 30min in total over a typical class day and tethering for 10min, my battery is down to less than half already. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
Running on leaked 4.0.4 with latest FrancoKernel.

Well its not great either way, but the screen on and awake time in that screenshot looks more then half an hour. Looks at an estimate to be nearer an hour and a half which is a total screen on time of about 3 hours which is fair.

That's well over 30min of screen on time, and with a bad signal at the end that drains.
Doesn't seem super out of the ordinary, honestly.
In total I'd say my phone was playing Temple Run for 30-40 mins, and then frequent on-and-off with google talk and text messaging. I don't believe what its saying for the screen on is true, because it definitely looks to be on more than 50% of the time, but in reality I haven't used it more than 50%.
Are there apps that can be running in the background that's making my Nexus think that the screen is on?

No. The screen on time will be precisely (as much as it can be) displayed in that settings menu.
Why don't you put your phone down and pay attention in class?
That seems to be a big battery issue on XDA, people complain but they refuse to put there phone down for more than 5 min.

Yup, your info shows lots of screen on time and hammering the processors with playing games.
And the LTE network takes a larger toll on the battery compared to GSM/HSPA.
The stock 1750mah hour battery is only good for maybe 5-6 hours of screen on gaming hammer time. With more modest normal voice/data usage the battery can go 24-48 hours.
USB chargers are easy to keep around. Bigger fatter 3300mah batteries are another option.

I have battery life that bad when I'm in the office, but I think it is because I have very light service...not enough service that it is totally usable, but just enough that the phone keeps trying to establish a connection...
Click on display in the battery usage to get your screen on time.
Expect 2-3 hours of screen on time with the LTE Nexus.
As others have said, check your screen on time. Just to clear something up the % listed next to the object in the battery menu tells you the percentage of the battery used, not the overall battery. For example, 50% used by Screen, and the battery level is at 30% means that the screen roughly used about 35% of the overall battery, not that the screen used 50% of the total battery.
iphone 4s dont have that kind of problem.
My maguro with the 2000 mah battery lasts all day with half a charge still left over with AOKP/Franco kernel, undervolted and hotplug mod.
I'm usually on wifi though, since I have wifi at both work and home. That definitely helps a lot.

This is a question for the new owners of the galaxy note 2. Have you noted the "screen-on" time for battery to go from fully charged to drop dead? One of the biggest problem with the Super AMOLED devices is the (relatively) abysmal battery life when web browsing as they do quite well when playing video. Let's say if you were to primarily browse the web on the device how much screen-on time would you get?

Sorry! I don't believe Note 2 can do like that. How about your heavy meaning?
On my original Note1, I got 4 hours max of screen-on time while browsing/facebooking.
Hopefully the note2 will be an improvement over that!
I got my Note 2 today, brand new and box-fresh. At 09:30 this morning I fired it up and it had 55% battery, so I logged into my Google account, did what you do with a new Android smartphone, downloaded a bunch of Apps, really put it under some heavy load, made a few calls, SMS, plenty of multi-tasking etc. At 15:30 it was showing 6% battery life including 2h50m of screen time.
For a fresh battery and heavy use, I think that's pretty good going.

So about 6 hours of screen on time per full charge. Not bad, actually, its about a 50% improvement over the 4 hours of the note1.
I might still consider investing in an extra battery for those long days...

thats odd as phone arena tried a battery test and found they would get around 9 hours continous video playback at full brightness and they say with half brightness they would come close to razor maxx at 14 hours screen time?
but still ill wait till others have tested it properly
http://www.phonearena.com/reviews/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-II-vs-Galaxy-Note_id3136/page/4
Video playback doesn't consume much battery on AMOLEDs, web browsing is more battery-consuming due to white backgrounds. Also, phone Arena said clearly that the phone was on airplane mode.

very good battery life... for almost 2 days (I used S3, S2 before and this is a very good phone)
The mains adaptor that comes as standard with the Note II has a 5 Volt 2 Amp output that should be good at charging the battery as many existing power supplies are 1 Amp or less.
If you plan on using a car adaptor, don't buy a cheap low current one - most are only 500mAh or 750mAh.
looks like battery looking good so far from you guys..i say give it a week of cycles. still needs braking in...does the back get really warm when charging? is charge time fast?
After few more cycles the battery life is just CRAZY

How long are you guys putting this on the charger? Normally put my phone on charge when I go to bed and when I wake up it is fully charged. This phone was on the charger for 7.5 hours and went from 7%-63%. WTH????
Yesterday I charged it from 10% to 100% in about 2h30
I'm getting such bad battery drain when the screen is on its ridiculous. I've taken some screenshots from Gsam and as you can see at times I'm losing 5% battery over ten minutes of screen on time. I'm not gaming or doing anything cpu intensive and the screen brightness is set to 25%.. What sort of battery drain are others experiencing when the screen is on?

I am pretty disappointed. I had a Z2 then Z3. IMO you haven't experienced great battery life until you've used one of these phones. It's really unbelievable. I couldn't kill it in a day, period. It's really hard going backwards. I don't care how fast a battery charges or whether it's removable, there is simply no substitute for a phone you take off charge in the morning and run all day with zero thought to the battery until you plug it in at night. For me with the G4 battery is crazy bad with screen on and almost as appalling screen off. With the Z2 and 3 if I didn't use my phone much say during the morning at work it would have 90% left at lunch time. Or even streaming Pandora all day barely touched it. Same for this phone I'm already down to 70% without using it by lunch. In this reply I've lost 6% so far. I think all the comments talking about turning off WiFi, and lower brightness etc are all BS. To me, that's not using the phone. It's not making my day and my business easier if I'm constantly worried about battery life.
I've found that the avg screen time no matter what is 3-4 hours. I get 19hrs on my battery on avg and always get between 3-4 hrs of screen on time. Having that spare battery is a major help.
I miss my turbo for it had minimum 5hrs sot and over. Still getting used to this battery life on my g4
Mine has gotten better after a few cycles. The screen off drain is extremely low, which makes up for screen on drain in my case.
On my Z3v, I was amazed at screen on time - but the battery would just drain at 10%/hour pretty commonly - so even though i could get 5hrs of screen on - it would still only last for a day. With the G4, I use it all day when I need to, and then after two days I need to charge it. Not to mention I got 5hrs SOT yesterday.
I wonder if anyone will develop a 4k Mah battery that fits in roughly the same size back? I've seen 6k already... but I dont need that much. Just a bump more will help.

Recharge cycles, letting it get low enough that It needs to shut down and then charging it back up with the stock charger.
Others have reported similar, and others have also mentioned doing a factory reset if you haven't tried that.
Overall I agree with the barely average life. Especially with this phone - I'd rather they make it .5mm thicker and put a bigger batter to allow for real all day phone use of calls, email, etc.

On pace for over 8 hours SOT. This phone is a beast!
I had a much better one two days ago, but I didn't get a screen shot.
I average well over a full work day with more than 7+ hours of SOT.
I don't use a dark theme, but it's not a bright theme either. No power save use ever. I use bluetooth and headphones to listen to music throughout the day. Plenty of web surfing and media related tasks. I don't play games.
I believe I get better battery performance following charging via wireless instead of the Rapid Charger. It's just been my overall experience so far.

This version of the Note has me the most disappointed. I got less than 12 hours of use out of the phone, with it in ultra power saving mode for more that 50% of that time, just texting. I had my Note 4 with me as well, using that to listen to music, watch Netflix, and read on the Nook app, with wi-fi turned on but no cellular, bluetooth, or gps turned on, but I had over 50% battery left when the Note 5 died.

AT&T never actually stopped using Carrier IQ. They were just doing a better job hiding it (or getting the phone manufacturer to bury it so deep that it's nearly impossible to remove.)
FML and I can't root my phone and get rid of it.. IT's causing my Android System to go nuts and always consume the most battery... This is disappointing.

AT&T has a 14 day return policy. If you are still within it, why not return the phone and get something else?
Yeah I'm within the 14 day return policy but nothing on the market is better than the Note 5 in terms of overall package. Guess I'll just ride it out. I like the Note 5 a lot and I guess if I can get a full day of use that's good enough.. Plus Marshmallow should fix a lot of issues that plague Lollipop. Here's to hoping we actually see M before the Note 6 is released..

Samsung isn't terrible when it comes to updating. Especially when you consider the amount of work involved in getting TW ported, and the high number of devices they have.
AT&T, on the other hand, might not accept that update from Samsung until 2017 or later.
I'm very serious when I say that if you keep this phone, accept it how it is today. Assume no bug fixes, no updates and no root. This way, you're prepared for one possible outcome and can only be pleasantly surprised.
(Yes, I'm having to do the same math. You can't imagine how hard it is for me to accept a phone with no root... but it's a good device...)

So all this talk about battery... Some early reviews said 5 to 6 hours battery life. While that is good, it isn't outstanding or anything. Sony been doing that for years and the S7 with the same processor, same battery and crazy amounts of bloat gets the same amount. Anyone have anything to share?
Will check battery life as soon as I got my device. Let's wait and see how it'll do the job.

should help give some light about the battery, for me looks good enough!
Forget about the "rundown tests" as those dont show real use. Pocketnow said 4.5 hours of SOT in a day. Thats horrible for a battery of this size.

Honestly, I am not worried about battery life that much as long as the phone has fast charging feature. I have fast charging charger in office and home and heck, I can even get another for car if I want to. As long as battery life is okay, I am fine with it. Now, if I was to buy a phone without fast charging feature like iphone, that will be a completely different story.

I think the QHD Display is the Biggest Battery Drain. On my G3 I get also 4-5 SOT. Although I like the HTC 10 but I would like to get a better Battery life on a New phone as on my old one....
any updates on battery life?

Well doh, there's your problem.
WiFi + LTE at the same time is quite taxing and not even talking about the SoC load of the phone acting as a router.

I saw a review saying it equals Note 5 battery life, of 5 to 6 hrs Screen On time.

thats not good at all considering the Note 5 have a higher brightness threshold...matter of fact, HTC 10 got the lowest brightness nit I recently remember. seems like thats how HTC trying to save battery.
I've only got past 3 hours SOT on my MXP a few times, it averages at around 2.5 so this is great news for me hah.
With my usage I'm having 4h of sot

5-6 hours of SOT time isn't good at all?
The only phone I've had that was able to pull off a consistent 5-6 hrs of SOT time while lasting 24 hrs was the Note 2. I'll happily take 5-6 hrs of SOT and a full day of usage all day everyday.
Better not be 5-6 hours average... S7e for me if that happens.
Crappy untweaked M8 with everything running gives me that for years.
