Hi guys, I am wondering why there is no google now on the tablet? I do find the google search, but can't find the google now. Am I doing something wrong?

You have to hit Google with mic on the bottom left from the home screen and when it opens search, it tells you to start Google now in blue. Just click it and set it up.

Thank you for the reply. I am aware of the google search on the bottom left corner and there I was searching the google now. When I open the search I do see only the search line. There is nothing else. I've also tried google now widget and it says google now is not available.

Hold down the home button and hit the google button on the bottom and it should open google now, if you dont have it, maybe you hit not now and you have to go into the google search settings to enable it again
Issue solved. I had to uninstall the update, then the google now appeared and then update again. Thanks everyone

I removed it from the launcher settings in cm9 I think? If I remember (which my memory is fried) I couldn't find a place to remove it from CM10 either.. If you do find it, please post results so I can get it off there too
This is simply a tutorial on how to replace Samsung's crappy s-voice with the amazing Google Now voice search!
In order to follow this guide you must be rooted, if you are not and wish to do so, follow the guide here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426 If you are already rooted, then continue with the guide!
Step 1: Installing Google Now:
1.)Download the Google now flashable zip here (download the one entitled mikey7 online/offline voice) XDA Google Now Download Thread
2.)Make sure they are on your internal SD card and reboot into recovery
3.)choose install zip file and navigate to wherever the file is (if you are unsure then there is a good chance that it is filed under downloads/mikey7_offline.zip)
4.)once you are done with this, turn your device back on and verify that the app "Google" is in your app drawer
5.)If so then continue with the tutorial, if not then retry and if that does not resolve the issue then post questions in this forum.
Step 2: Activating Google Now
1.)Make sure you have Google latitude installed and have set up your account for latitude before continuing just to be safe.
2.)Launch the Google Now app and go through the setup until you click the "Yes, I'm in." option and your cards appear
3.)Continue to the next and final step or, if you are happy with not being able to launch Now via double tapping the home button, stop here and have a nice day!
Step 3: Replacing S-Voice
1.)Go into S-voice settings and uncheck the option "Launch S-Voice"
2.)Download a free app from the market called "home2 shortcut" (or link here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eikatou0.appspot.home2shortcut ..)
3.)Set the double tap home option (Home> Home) to launch "Voice Search" from installed applications. (make sure it displays a blue microphone when you do this)
4.)Continue with the instructions for the app and close the app.
5.)Test it out, if it doesn't launch directly into the voice search after doing the double home then follow the next few steps, if it does then skip to step 8.
6.)Open the Google Now app (it will be listed as "Google" in your app drawer)
7.)Press menu>refresh.
8.)Reboot
9.)Enjoy having Google Now on your Ice cream sandwich Samsung Galaxy S3!
Don't Forget to hit the thanks button if this helped you!
Credits go to:
SilentStormer - kept the Google Now for ICS thread up to date

Google- For making this awesome Program
Samsung- For the hardware!
Thanks this worked perfectly!
Great post! Thanks!
Thanks for this...is there a way to set this up so that a single press while in my launcher (Nova Launcher) returns to the default screen? Single presses in the launcher do not currently do anything.

You maybe can go into gestures settings in nova and set up the double tap for voice search in nova. However, you may have to triple press. This was actually my work around for a small time. You may have to buy the premium nova in order to use gestures though. Hope this works!

the manual search is working perfectlly on my tab 10.1 running 4.0.4.
but the voice function is not. the message of "shell has been granted in su perm" kept appering for tens of times. then the app get forced to close.
thanks for the great effort...

Is it the same?

Is there a way to change the long press of the menu button to open Google Now instead of S-Finder? Perhaps in the form of a module for Xposed Framework?

Mine does... but I have Google Now turned off so it ends up at a search like page with a link at the bottom that says Get Google Now. If it wasn't turned off it would be displaying.

I just tried that, and now nothing opens when I long press menu.
I use Nova Prime launcher and it opens Google Now/Search instead of S Finder. Don't know if there's an option somewhere.

I installed the new Google Search and the new Play Services in the hopes of getting the new always on OK GOOGLE to work, but so far no go. I know it has to be turned on from Googles side, but has anyone have it not work, then start working?
EDIT-I think I figured out how to make it work:
For those who dont have it activated yet, I think I figured out how to turn it on.
Google search>menu>Settings>Voice>OK Google detection>Menu button>Help & Feedback>scroll down and hit Audio History>Touch the plus next to See Your Audio History. At this point you should have to sign in to Google to turn on Audio History. Go back in to settings>voice and make sure Audio History is on.
After I did this the options appeared in OK Google Detection to use the hotword OK GOOGLE from any screen and from lock screen.
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SEARCH 3.5.15 AND PLAY SERVICES 5.0 FOR THIS TO WORK
There's an Xposed module called Ok Google for 3rd party activities that will allow you to call out Ok Google from the home screens.

Yeah, I only enabled it to test and it worked while I was typing the last post. I'm on viper rom btw if that makes a difference.
Wow,... Your in the minority, from what I've read. It hasn't been turned on yet for my account by Google. Search 3.5.15 came out today and I was hoping, but not yet. I still don't have the options yet in my settings.
Have to click the search bar first, but works for me.(in u.s.a. with stock launcher)

There's a new Google search that has to be turned on by Google for it to work correctly. But after they do you can just say OK Google, even in a game, and it will work. But Google is slow so far activating it to everyone.

Then it doesn't work as I am explaining it. Once Google turns it on for your account you can just say OK Google, anywhere including the lock screen and screen off while charging, and have it work. No need to touch anything.
Basically just like the Moto X.
I forgot to mention that my search was updated yesterday to 3.5.15, newer than what came out last week with the new always on search, but it still hasnt been turned on by Google for me.

I haven't been to these forums in a while (been bogged down with life crap), but I'm glad I came here today! This is the first I'm hearing about this. I've been envious of this feature ever since I read about the Moto X.
The options were there on my HTC One, and it's working. Now I just have to be careful not to talk about anything the NSA might be interested in! Ha ha.
