you sure that you've tried SVHD but still nothing HTC apps..?
coz what i know SVHD rom is already include all HTC apps..but have a second option to running MOD pack installer after installing the rom it self..and in this step of the installation is have one option to remove apps that you don't needed including the HTC apps it self...are you sure you don't select all apps to remove all apps in this step..?
I reflashed venom rom and everything is working now...only issue is VENOM HUB isnt working
Might get some more succes asking in the ROM thread itself. As it seems to be a ROM related issue.

I don't think the dev's have updated their servers for VenomHub. A lot of users are facing the same problem.
Other than that, everything else should work :good:

Hi,
My DHD was working fine with Miui - then i loaded on C7 with no probs.. One of my friends told me to try Android Revolution....
Installed via CWM and when i rebooted my phone it just hangs at the Intial White background HTC logo..
Any idea's ?
Did you flashed it after flashed ROM? You know, 1st flash ROM, reboot, settings, then flash this.
Well !
Flashed the Android_Revolution_Super_Wipe then flashed the Android_Revolution_HD-4G_6.1.2.zip, then reboot and left the phone for about 20mins - Still stuck at White HTC screen.
Thought it may be a problem with the rom so i tried LeeDroid V4.0 and same thing...
I had a Old LeeDroid Rom lying around and flashed that and no problems at all...
cwm
when flashing Android revolution it says clearly NOT to use CWM and to only use Ext4. This may be why this is happening.
sorry for the noob question:
When i installed Andoird Revo. it installed EXT4...
How can i change from CWM to EXT4 ?

Uninstall CWM. the change is automatic when you flash android revolutions. you then either pay and install the EXT4 app. or you can down the apk file form the internet. Not saying you should download it from the internet. *wink* *wink*

Why change? Or do you mean change back to CWM? Both are equally as good IMO.

Still trying to get Android Rev. to install...
I have installed EXT4 Recovery - Tried installing from that and still the same issues.
I have formated my SD Card and then flushed all the Data on the Phone and it is still not working...
But LeeDroid v3.3, MIUI, CM7 works fine ?!?!?!
It could be a bad download. Have you checked the md5 sum?

Hi,
I recently purchased the HTC Wildfire S from Virgin Mobile and would like to root it. After reading some great tutorials put out by you guys, I'm fairly confident I can successfully root my device. How ever I have a few concerns:
1. Is my device the HTC marvel, marvelc, or marvelct?
2. Are there custom ROMs for my device?
3. Can I remove the bloatware/re-partition the internal memory without a new ROM?
Thanks ahead of time to those that help, and sorry for taking up your time with n00bie questions
EDIT: Also do I need to do anything to my bootloader just to root? My understanding is that its only necessary for changing ROMs.
Marvelc or a510c, there are custom roms and modified roms and roms that are being built like cm7 for the marvelc, check out the development forum and see whats crackin
HTC Wildfire S (VM) "s-off" "rooted" Stock Rom
Thanks I will take a look over there. When I started looking I saw a lot of people saying there are only ROMs for the marvel
No theres ssrom, simonstock rom that rom is sweet! Check it out
HTC Wildfire S (VM) "s-off" "rooted" Stock Rom
Can I get links to these? I think I found the SSROM already but glanced over it. I will revisit that one. As of now SS may be the only ROM I have found for the marvelc.
Thanks again guys
Just wait a little bit, some are being built

I have the HTC Wildfire S from VM, rooted, CWM 5.0.2.6, S-off, and when i try to install any custom rom, it will install fine then ill boot it up and it will be at different points during the bootup process animation screen where it will freeze and restart over and over. Sometimes it will get to the lockscreen and freeze there. The only rom that hasnt done that so far is the CM7 alpha. I have tried to install: .sense, jmz, and team marvelUS rom for the marvelc, and still not able to do anything. Has anyone encountered this problem and fixed it, anyone can give me anything extra to try? i have wiped data/factory reset, wiped cache/dalvik, and battery stats, also tried not wiping any of those. The custom stock rom still works fine if i install it.

Did u make a partition before trying jmz and teammarvelusc? I haven't tried .sense yet but I know that at least on jmz u need at least a 512mb partition or u may encounter some problems. Also, what hboot do u have? U could also try formatting /boot to see if that helps. Could also be too high of a CPU oc. Cm7 alpha is set at 600mhz, jmz and teamusc have their kernels oc'd to 806 by default if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks for your quick reply! I did try the partition of 512mb and just in case a swap of something too haha. My hboot version is 1.06. And on the processor speed that makes sense. Is there a way to change that in the rom before I load it or do I have to luckily catch my phone before it freezes?
There may be a flashable stock kernel out there for marvelc, if anyone would know it would be Simon or insink. There should be one around this forum somewhere I would think.
You could also try m1ndh4xr8's kernel, its oc by default but I've had good luck with it.
Sent from my HTC_A510c using xda premium
Well I did install that kernel and it actually worked with stock rom, but my wifi now says error haha any ideas. Btw thanks for the clues on the kernel I may just use that one with other roms and see if that works. But any clues on the wifi?

Try this its made especially for marvelc

Or check out ROM Manager for flawless ROMs
Well problem with jmz is that it keeps my phone on a reboot loop. And rom manager I tried but it never worked for me on any of my phones for installing roms haha but I did download the rom and installed on cwm.
help
does anyone know where too get the offical img files for virgin mobile usa. like kernel, recovery, system and so on.
No I couldn't find them from VM I found the stock rom on the forum I believe but don't remember where. I still got it do u need it? The rom has the stock kernel in it obviously lol

Ya i remember encountering that problem back when there wasn't really any support for marvelc. I attached the 2 kernels i have on my sdcard that i know for sure work completely with no errors. Copy them to your sdcard, then the first thing i would try is boot into cwm, wipe cache and dalvik cache. then flash the attached m2ndh4x8r kernel, as thats the one i currently use. See if that fixes your wifi problem. If it doesn't, then do the same for the attached jmz kernel. If neither of those are fixing the wifi issue, then u will need to install a different rom. When i first bought my phone and was on stock, the wifi didn't even work at all, till i rooted and went custom.

Use the virgin mobile ruu if you want to go back to stock. This will basically do everything except make u s-on.

Did the phone come with that ROM or did you flash it yourself? If you flashed it yourself, where did you get it?
I would say just full wipe (make sure you wipe system, data, and cache) and flash a new ROM, since you were planning to anyway. (Remember to back up your apps and settings with Titanium Backup or something similar if you want to save anything.) aospX in the Inspire 4G dev forums (which are compatible with Desire HDs) is a good stable ICS ROM. IceColdSandwich is a more customizable one from the DHD dev forums. If the new ROM still has problems then post again.
I had to get the mobo on my device changed for some reason and this new one had all of this already pre installed.
so i did a complete wipe using a script and after that installed blackout ics 4.0.4 with sense 3.6. it installed successfully and now The phone restarts after the boot is complete again and again, the same used to happen on the previous rom. I removed the simcard and it works just fine.

Which wipe script? This does matter; some scripts can reformat your partitions incorrectly.
EDIT: and just to clarify. This phone came to you with S-OFF and CM7.1. It had bootloops. You then flashed Blackout. Still bootloops. You then removed the SIM card. It now boots properly. Is that accurate?

Android Revolution HD Super Wipe Desire HD.zip. But the simcard issue existed since the previous rom. The phone would restart after booting up instantly, i remove the simcard and voila its working normally.

What I would do is, try full wiping and flashing a stock ROM. Or you could try ARHD, which is close. If the issue is still present on stock, it could very well be a hardware issue.
Okay i can try that.. Quick question. after i do a full wipe how do i install a stock rom?

You can use SuperWipe (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=840040) or EXT4 wipe (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=868720) scripts.
I use ext4 wipe scripts to wipe my Ace.

Also try replacing the SIM. Sim can be a problem.

I rooted my One X and flashed the AOSP 4.2.2 ROM. It works flawlessly, except for the phone app. When I am making a call, the screen will lock until the other person hangs up or I hard reset my phone. How can I fix this problem?
Try a different rom, check if it has the same flaw

So far, I've tried to install CyanogenMod 10.1 RC5 and Viper X 2.6.0. I cannot get any cellular service when using Cyanogenmod, and the touchscreen doesn't work with Viper X.
Sounds like you are not flashing the boot image, or not fastboot erasing cache after flash
Sent from a pile of cabbage with XDA Premiumiumium
And when you flash viper, flash the 3.7.2 and not the old ICS one. That's why touch doesn't work
