I installed android 4.4 from this site.
http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/5...-nexus-i9250-android44-kitkat-update-aosp.htm
It is a AOSP build. After installed, I do not see any new features listed in 4.4 reviews. no any difference than before.
I saw some news articles say CyanogenMod has builds came out based on 4.4, but their site does not have a release not show features in each build.
Anybody can find a stable build other than the AOSP and the ones on xda ?

I'm not sure what exactly feature are missing. But the one I installed does not have launcher.
I thought 4.4 should be look like the review here.

see the screenshot of home page. no launcher. the apps shown are here separately installed, not from the ROM.
The left button show in the home screen is an android robot, suppose to be phone button. when I click on it. it says 'app isn't installed'. how can I retrieve phone function?

Not meaning offense, but you don't even know how to drag the Phone app out of the app drawer and replace the one on the dock? Then you should give up all your effort trying to mimic Nexus 5 looks and revert to a more stable ROM. Your knowledge of Android 4.x (or at least the launcher) is still lacking.

Like I said, that all is the launcher... Just search for "Google experience" launcher (not on the market ofc.) and if you don't want that launcher you can mimic the gradient status bar and navigation bar with an instruction that can be found here on the GN forum

Any chance to get the default Froyo launcher for our phone? I really don't like ADW that much but use it as it's the best option but would love to have the standard one.
Have you tried launcher pro?
Yea but I don't line the 4 icon dock at the bottom.
I like the simplicity of ADW/default but ADW eats up alot of resources.

Seems to work ok, except for the telephone button. Any way to change that?
could you post a pic of how that launcher looks?
Almost like LauncherPro when it's default, except for only 3 buttons and then dots on the side saying what page you're on.
can we install the launcher from decepticon on 2.1?

Dumb question - I assume you have to be rooted to use this?

In launcher pro you can set the dock shortcut to blank. That way you can keep as many dock shortcuts as you like. Mine has 5 so if you set the left and right ones to blank you can have 3 in the middle. Then simply change the shortcut functions to whatever you want them to be. It works for me

Hi,
is it possible to add apps on the lockscreen or the google now menu that appears when you swipe from the middle of the screen?
i used a lockscreen app on my Arc S, but if there is a way to do this without an additional app, plz let me know
thx!
There's an app called Launch Now. You can select up to seven apps to choose from. You still slide up like you would for google now but a menu just pops up instead. It's only $1 and totally worth it

The major ROMs have this feature. It's called Navbar Targets I believe. I know that AOKP has it, and I think CyanogenMod does too. Other such as CNA do as well. I'm sure that these ROMs will be ported to the Nexus 4 very soon. You configure these targets via settings, so you don't need another app.
Hello, I created this 2 apps to add copy and paste buttons to the nabvar...
What this app does is to simulate a keypress from a service when button is pressed....
Concretely sends KeyEvent.ACTION_DOWN for CTRL_LEFT(holds that key pressed), then injects C or V KeyCode event and finally it sends KeyEvent.ACTION_UP for CTRL key(releases that key).
However, not all apps are compatible with CTRL key, so this wont work properly with these apps
This app has been tried on Xylon ROM but also it SHOULD work on AOKP and derivates.
**THIS APP DOES NOT REQUIRE ROOT**
Install like a normal APK

To use this app you must sign with system signature, which can be find in its repositories

so will it work on non root stock rom?
Re: [MOD/APP][AOKP] COPY/PASTE buttons in NAVIGATION BAR!!! (Root & NON Root)
No, it doesn't work for non rooted. It installs and goes to widgets and put it on the screen and it says not installed when clicked. Plus, non rooted wouldn't be able to add those to the launcher. MAYBE 3rd party but I don't wanna do all that..

Hi.
Can you make similar buttons but with different functions?
I would like to hide navbar and use aokp pie instead but I need few buttons.
Menu
Back
Home
Recent apps
And if this is possible - forward buttons (for Internet browser)

Is there a function in there for "last app"? That's probably my favorite thing to have on the nav bar.

Tablet UI refers to Tablet User Interface, before JB 4.2 the UI for tablets did not have a notification status bar area on top, everything was at the bottom of the screen, NAV keys to the left and notification area to the right, Google decided to get rid of it with the release of JB 4.2 but some people prefer the Tablet UI over the Phablet UI which is the one we have now.
Hope it helps..

FYI, I currently am using SPB Shell, which has a table mode/UI, which I like, since it virtually doubles the amount of Application Icons on the screen. To change to table mode you (also shown in www.feelc.org/SPB3DShellTabletMode.pps) ...
1. Load SPB 3D Shell ... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spb.shell3d
2. Touch "Center screen button", which is at the bottom center of the screen
3. Touch the settings button on the screen that looks like a gear and is at the bottom left of the screen.
4. Select Experimental Settings
5. Change Interface Mode from Smart Phone to Table mode

With the introduction of Android 11, Task Changer no longer functions. I despise Android's native iOS-style task switcher. If I wanted my phone to function like an iPhone with iOS gesture garbage and UI copycats I would have bought an iPhone. It's especially annoying when I open the switcher to swipe away the current app only to realize it automatically scrolled to an app beside it and I've instead swiped away the app I wanted to switch to instead closing the current one. Not only does this do the exact opposite of what I wanted, it makes things even worse because I now have to reopen the app I wanted to switch to. Depending on what that is, text fields, progress, etc can be lost and require several minutes to restore. Blah blah you get the picture. It sucks. Many people must agree with me or Task Changer wouldn't exist as a first party app, let alone at all.
Tl;dr and the actual question, Is there anything out there that can be used to substitute the functions of Good Lock's Task Changer until Samsung updates it to work with the latest software? I've looked but I haven't been able to find anything. In addition to this question I've noticed that the navigation gestures don't work at all 70% of the time and require the gesture hint lines to be enabled in order for them to work reliably. Is this related to Good Lock not being updated which would otherwise smooth that out, or is it a general software bug? I only ask because I've had Good Lock's Task Changer active ever since the S8+ Pie update, which was two phones ago, so I've avoided the stock task switcher like the plague until now.
Wait a bit as Samsung should update it soon.
Any more I don't update any OS I like and if I do it's only after lots of positive feedback exists.
Still happily running Pie and W7X64, lol.

I used to rock the same boat. I have no idea why I strayed from that methodology this one time but I regret it. Maybe it was the notification history feature, but that's definitely not worth it considering a lot of things are now broken. Honestly with everything that's wrong with it it feels like I was given a beta version of the OS someone marked as stable only because it doesn't kernel panic. Not being able to reliably use the iOS-style navigation gestures that were forced upon me is a pretty big deal. You'd think people testing the software would realize that the single most used - and arguably most important - thing in the OS (back, home, and task switcher swipe-up gesture) doesn't work properly.

Try One Handed Operation+, lol if it loads the new OS that is. It's gestures are reliable.
Low battery, resources use and rock solid stable.
I'm also very frustrated.
When bringing up the app switcher there is no longer an "apps" button that pops up a list of my installed app icons which I can then long press on and drag to open them in split screen, pop up view, or just open them regularly. It's just a blank screen now with only the apps I have open on it. Was that a feature of Good Lock's Task Changer too? I absolutely need that back. Multitasking is a nightmare and a half without it.

No, that was a feature of the normal app switcher. I personally don't like the goodlock one. I'm glad I'm on an S10 and still get options lol.
I couldn't agree more with OP. I get that some people want this unproductive annoying deck of card recent apps design, but why on earth isn't there more layouts to choose from in the settings somewhere. I've usually used custom ROMs, and most of them had these settings (I mostly used slim recents and I loved it), but not recently due to some apps' aggressive anti root, anti custom rom policies like banking apps, f***Ing snapchat, etc. I was so happy when I found out about Nice Lock, but then Sammy nagged about updating and I did it to my not-so-big surprise it messed up everything. Sorry I have no good answer here, just had to agree and ventilate.

Seems like a error "fix" to task changer.
I downloaded Home up, from apkmirror website Saw 2 x versions available, with today's date.
Installed second update (Version: 2.0.01.11 (200100011)... as it stated there was a fix for Task changer that was force closing.
Big disappointment, as there is only really 2 new options. The normal list one, and the extra ones
Grid and Stack.
Good luck.

This worked, but as someone pointed out earlier there are only three options for the task changer which don't even change the layout at all. Unfortunately this isn't useful, as it only moves the recent apps closer together or shrinks them. For now I guess it's back to waiting for the task changer app itself to be updated.
