try restoring the nand you do before flashing. is your battery level OK? did you use caukins flash all? Make sure you are wiping data, cache, and dalvik if not using a format_all.zip. With the problems you are having, doing each twice wouldnt hurt (data, cache, dalvik, data, cache, dalvik)

Download these gapps. Boot into recovery and wipe cache and dalvik. Then flash the gapps I just uploaded and see if that helps.

I'm starting to love these threads where a newbie has a "life threatening" problem with their EVO and so they post in the wrong section, even after they've seen that it's against the rules...lol
HELP HELP HELP, I turned off my phone and now I can't see anything? WHAT SHOULD I DO.....
A) Turn it back on
B) Freak the hell out
C) Head over to XDA to act like my house is on fire and post in the wrong section
Oh and no need to answer, we all know which one the newbies pick 99.999 percent of the time...hahahaha

A simple, single and easy way to wipe and format your Android device's partitions.
Introducing SuperWipe
Many problems can occur when you flash multiple files on your device. Flashing new files from recovery only copies over the existing files, leaving all old files on your device's partitions, which takes up space and hinders the operations and performance of your Android device. Thus facing these problems, The SuperWipe idea was invented by Ohsaka at xda.
His original link for SuperWipe for the G1 can be found here!
Since then developers have ported or use the same concept of SuperWipe to completely wipe there devices. Let this be the base template for all future SuperWipe concepts.
Mission
We have been working on this project to make it simpler to port to different devices. So I have rewritten the script in edify language. This script also carries the same options as the Original SuperWipe for the G1.
SuperWipe will now read it's properties you set up. Say you only want to wipe certain partitions/files, you have the freedom of choice by editing the SuperWipe.prop file that is stored in the sdcard.
I have also made this an open source project using the GPL in hopes that you donate time, code and any ideas towards this project.

SuperWipe general information
A simple, single and easy way to wipe and format your Android device's partitions.
SuperWipe is practically a zip you flash through your recovery.
It SuperWipes your partitions so that your next rom install has minimal issues.
It also has extras!
To set up:
You must flash this once and reboot to be able to edit it from inside the rom with a file manager or using the recovery mount sdcard option to edit your SuperWipe.prop file located in sdcard/SuperWipe/SuperWipe.prop to specify what you WANT WIPED! Or you can make a folder on the root of your sdcard called SuperWipe. Then pull a copy of SuperWipe-prop-sample to that folder renaming it SuperWipe.prop with you edits.
A Sample SuperWipe properties edits:
This file is default, you must configure the file to wipe your preference!
#***wipe data/factory reset***
SuperWipe.Userdata=false
SuperWipe.Cache=false
SuperWipe.Sdcard.android_secure=true
SuperWipe.Sdcard.Android=false
#***superwipe extras***
SuperWipe.Boot=false
SuperWipe.System=false
SuperWipe.Sdcard.sdext=false

Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
Just to be clear, you use this in addition to a full wipe or instead of a full wipe?
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA Premium App
This will do it for you.
First: Flash the file through the Recovery.
Second: Once you've booted back up, go to your SDCard/SuperWipe folder, there is the SuperWipe.prop. Edit that (taking false to true) on the selections you want wiped (the next time you need to wipe).
So when you're ready to change ROMS, just flash the SuperWipe from Recovery and this time it will wipe the options you marked True.
If I want to get the same results as a fastboot wipe, what should NOT be set to true? I want to make sure I don't brick my phone here.

All of the selections that are in the script are the ones you would have to do manually from Recovery in order to do a full wipe.
This app just automates it.
Thanks Richie, nice to see some new stuff for the MT4G anytime, i've been using a similar script but it can only wipe data/cache/system, yours does a more so i'll try it out. And no one should be scared to try this, it won't blow up your phone, cause a BSOD, or fix the economy, but will speed up wiping process.
Just tested everything True and it works perfectly... Thanks Richie

How I flashed was using TWRP flashed darkside super wipe 2 x .. flash Rom/Gapps/darkside cash wipe / reboot / let it sit 10 min reboot. there we go its running good . MY IN CALL AUDIO IS NOT 100% but pretty good try for yourself !!!
Flashing it now.
So...do we need update to UVLDE before flashing?
Sent from my Galaxy SII T-mobile using xda premium
No, you don't need UVLDE, but you need an ICS radio though. How's the call quality on this? any echos? speakerphone work?
Tried Flashing it, wouldnt boot. is there a procedure we need to go through for flashing?
try wiping cache and dalvik cache
Same here, can't boot, stuck on loading screen. Wiped both caches, no luck.
EDIT: Darkside superwipe fixed it, now it boots.

Have you tried derrick's darkside cache wipe, different than the superwipe, in tools. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27229625&postcount=2
Ill give that a try now.
backing up now. after that will flash
Edit: flashed ROM and love it but i still have the dang underwater sound and echo...at least when i call that automated number where you can record yourself and what not
I used TWRP to flash the ROM.
TWRP said their Recovery is good for flashing AOSP/KP builds.
I give up. Still wont boot. I tried wiping before flash, and then before and after. Sometimes i get past the loading bar, some times i dont. But i never get past the CM logo.
Maybe tomorrow.

5 reboot and sign in.

No -- Just do this
No matter what Rom u are in now
1. Go to recovery
2. Wipe cache
3. flash radio
4. Wipe dalvik cache (and fix permissions if u want)
5. Reboot into your Rom
Then...
1. Recovery
2. Wipe data & factory MANUALLY
3. Wipe cache
4. Flash DARKSIDE SUPER WIPE
5. Flash Cm9
5. Flash Gapps
5. Wipe dalvik cache (and fix permissions if u want)
6. Reboot
Then you can do your last two steps!
Hot damn! This rom is NICE! I'm a big cyanogen fan boy, and it was worth the wait! Guys don't give up on this CM9 nightly!
1) I have my precious scrolling wallpaper back!
2). Phone is totally smooth. My sgs2 can now compete with the ICS Nexus groups.
3) I'm still not able to go to certain secure websites. It must be an ICS thing.
I used Darkside Super wipe
Then flashed CM9
Then flashed Gapps (latest)
Then wiped Dalvik cash
Then fixed permissions.

This may be a stupid question, but by "darkside before and after" you mean darkside superwipe BEFORE and darkside cache wipe AFTER right? Because if you're super wiping AFTER you flash the ROM then of course it won't boot; you just wiped the ROM clean off.
Also, if you are on non touch cwm (5.0.2.7), you HAVE to flash the cache wipe after flashing the ROM before boot because that version of cwm does not wipe the cache properly on it's own and ics is particularly sensitive to it but GB doesn't care
Does this have the low call volume like the unofficial cm9 build?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
ok, maybe this is stupid but i don't know. i recently was able to get my evo hboot back down to 0.76.2000 and i'm like all excited and stuff. it works and i'm happy.
here's the potentially stupid question... when creating a backup in the mentioned recoveries, they create a backup of BOOT. does BOOT mean HBOOT?
Second question... in the backup recovery is listed. is that the recovery such as twrp, ra. cwm?
the reason i ask is i'm planning on restoring a backup and i don't want to lose my hboot. the recovery was done on hboot 2.16

I believe you will have to reflash whatever Rom or kernel you had after you recover your backup, since you changed Hboots. Usually it will not boot into the operating system, but will go directly to Hboot instead.

Not the case. Hboot has nothing to do with it. I ran a ROM on 2.18 then downgraded to 2.10 and the ROM still worked.

ROMs have nothing to do with hboot, they are contained in the /system and /data partitions while hboot is located somewhere esle. The only interaction between the two is that hboot is what tells the how to start up and that is what then loads up the actual ROM on the Android VM

2.10 yes, but I've had Hboot 0.76 after downgrading from 2.10, 2.16, and 2.18 and that was the case. I always had to reflash the kernel to get it to boot into the operating system, or else it would go directly to Hboot. It's an old engineering bootloader unlike 2.10.
I use a zip called superwipe. i'll have to get back to you on where i found it, but i think it would be a good solution to your TWRP/RA dilema lol. all you do is flash in recovery the superwipe.zip, and it automatically deletes cache/dalvik cache/data, three times, then sends you back to the recovery menu, where you can just simply flash your desired rom zip. sorry if this was already mentioned... i didn't read all of the reply pages
its called ZZZVR_SUPERWIPE.ZIP, im sure google will point you to the download location
also, im running MIUI ROM and RA 2.3 recovery

Twrp factory reset/data wipe wipes 2x in one click everything except dalvik which its wipe option wipes 2x as well as a matter of fact I think every single wipe option in twrp automagically runs 2x it jist formats the partition and then reformats it again everytime you swipe the slide

Flashed per instructions with Philz 6.07.9.
GPS works great after fix.
Hotspot works great.
I was getting a lot of reboots when I first flashed, but I wiped caches and installed the Shift Kernel, and that seemed to have that fixed it for a while. But now I'm getting constant reboots. When it boots, as soon as the screen times out and dims, it reboots. Perhaps I changes some setting, or restored something with Titanium that I wasn't supposed to...
If I power off the phone with the power plugged in, I get the battery icon, and I need to pull the battery in order to reset the phone. But it also does this on the LiquidSmooth 5.01.
Otherwise, it looks great (love the boot animation) and looking forward to its maturity.

If I power off the phone with the power plugged in, I get the battery icon, and I need to pull the battery in order to reset the phone. But it also does this on the LiquidSmooth 5.01.
Otherwise, it looks great (love the boot animation) and looking forward to its maturity.

To try to help with the reboots, i have read in other 5.0 Roms when you first turn it on you need to turn on Wi-Fi before the screens goes black. You should be fine after that and can then turn off the Wi-Fi.
root
how do i get root on this? this one seems alot better then liquid smooth lollipop.but cant root?

I think you can download supersu from Google play and you should be good to go.

Having some issues with the lollipop Roms. Hope I can ask here since this is my fav. Keep having dialer force close. Tried reflashing, clearing cache etc. Was working when I first flashed but then when I flashed aicp it started. Also my sprint connection shows ! a lot of the time. What could be the reason for this? On CDMA+LTE/evdo

Just noticed I don't have root myself. Tried installing SuperSU and it said I don't have su binary installed. In philz I notice it says do u want to root when leaving recovery. I will try that to see if it kicks into play.
Edit: Tried going into philz settings and re rooting. It says install SuperSU from market. Did that and it freezes showing nothing but black screen. Maybe this is causing my other issues.

Same here with root, tried with recovery and super Su freezes.super user did nothing.I tried with Dr ketans kit and that didn't work either.after I tried all the root methods the signal started showing ! And stayed that way til I reinstalled.But not having root is my main issue.

There is no superuser built-in to the rom. Flash the link in extras.

Thanks. The link worked. Any idea why I can't use phone dialer? Force closes every time I try to use. I can't call out. Can receive calls though.

You wiped everything before install? It should work normally. I am able to send/receive/end calls without issue.

Yes it was working until I flashed aicp. Wanted to try that one but once I restored broken it happened.

You did a full wipe before restoring broken?

I did wipe data/factory reset/clean to install new ROM, cache partition and dalvik. I am going to start from scratch again and format internal/reboot recovery after wiping etc.

The total format of internal and reinstall did not work.
I notice when you have the ! for service, this is when the phone app crashes when trying to make a call.
Not sure if this is a fix but I got mine working (service and making calls).
*Settings - More (wireless&networks) - Cellular Networks
Make sure preferred network is CDMA+LTE/EVDO
Click on Carrier Settings (I clicked the bottom one at first then tried the middle one and both worked).
*When you click on Carrier Settings it will force close. But, if you notice, the service icon goes blank and then reappears.
I waited a few seconds and LTE was active.
I tried to make a call and I did not get a force close. Went through fine.
If it doesn't work right away, try this a few times. This could be a fix or I just lucked out.
