Google Search - Latest Update
v3.1.8
Changes:
It officially brings Search version 3 (3.1.8 to be exact) that shipped in KitKat to all devices running 4.1+. This includes an updated UI, new refresh animation, among other things.
Because Search houses the Google Experience Launcher (GEL) inside, this update also brings GEL to all devices running Android 4.1+. All you need to do after installing Search 3.1.8 is install the launcher app from here, and voila - GEL for all, not just KitKat devices. I have it running on 4.1, 4.3, and 4.4 on both phones and tablets, and it finally looks perfect.
As I mentioned above, 3.1.8 completely fixes the wonky GEL layout on tablets. As you may have seen yesterday, several things on the Nexus 7, for example, were out of whack - the keyboard was popping when you tapped Home, the icons were old, and the Search box was off-center. All fixed.
Remember: GEL does support transparency in the navigation and status bars, but you need KitKat for that to work. And Google disabled it system-wide on the Nexus 10.
New cards:
Website update card
News topic card
What to watch card
Traffic incidents using Waze on maps.
Recurring reminders.
Real-time scores for rugby teams
See when your packages are ready for in-store pickup.
You can now bring back dismissed cards by pressing Undo.
Download
The APK is signed by Google and upgrades your existing app. The cryptographic signature guarantees that the file is safe to install and was not tampered with in any way. Rather than wait for Google to push this download to your devices, which can take days, download and install it just like any other APK.
File name: com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox-3.1.8.914827.arm.apk.
Version: 3.1.8 (Android 4.1+).

Once again, if you want GEL to work, install the launcher helper APK from here.

So far the new version only works correctly on devices with Android 5.0 (Lollipop), previous versions misfiring and closures. You have to be root and replace a system file. We have to install 4.0 and Google Google Launcher 1.1.1 Now, make a copy of libgooglehotwordjni.so file (/ system / lib) and replace it with the version that you can download here:
libgooglehotwordjni.so

Note that at the moment is an application that is fully functional but is not a final version, so that may not work properly on some devices or some specific Android versions.
only need to install our Android without more, download the application and install like any other apk.
Gmail 5.0, support for accounts on other services.
Tutorial:
-Delete your current GMail app or rename.
-Move new Gmail App /System/app changing permissions rw-r-r.
-Edit build.prop, edit the following line:
ro.build.type=user
to
ro.buid.type=userdebug
-Reboot.

Hi there,
I do not know whether it is the right place for me to ask the question, but anyways...
Recently I have bought treadmill MQ7 (look the pic).

At the start it has had it is own crappy Chinese launcher and access to the android preferences was password protected. I have managed to find out the password, installed another launcher (Nova Launcher) and set it by default. Everything is fine except two things that trouble me:
1. Sometimes system suddenly becomes unresponsive, then screen gradually turns white and system restarts and I do not know why, neither how to fix it (I have not ask the support yet, because it is clear that treadmill was not supposed to be used as an ordinary tablet, as there was this launcher). So, any suggestions before I ask support about the issue?
2. The system that installed on treadmill is Android Kitkat 4.4.4:
Kernel version
3.10.0
[email protected]#1
Build number
rk312x-eng 4.4.4 KTU84Q eng.alam.20150914.154051 test-keys
It has no Google Play, neither Google services installed and it is real pain in the a... But, the treadmill has USB port, so is there any way to make a backup of the ROM and flash another one with Google services?
The treadmill's system based on ROCKCHIP RK3126.
Thanks in advance and sorry for my English, it is not my native language.

I don't know if this has been posted before (it doesn't appear in the similar threads) but it is actually possible to have the STOCK Xperia Home 10 on your Xperia running Lollipop 5.0 or above. NO ROOT IS REQUIRED, it's a normal update of the stock Xperia Home, with a more recent version. The apks are signed by Sony indeed and share the same identical package name.
Here the instructions:
INSTALLATION
Install the Google Home Launcher and select that one (just in case).
Go to the mirror of Xperia 10.0.A.0.8 package
Download the apk
Install it as if it was a normal external apk
This will update your current Xperia Home from 8.xy.z to 10.0.A.0.8
Restart the phone
Enjoy the new Xperia Home Launcher with Icon Packs!!
TO UNINSTALL
Download ES File Explorer
Open it. Do no enable the root browser
Go to Library -> APP
Touch Xperia Home and select to uninstall it
ES will warn that the update will be removed
Click ok
You may have to reorganise your Home - If you have root you can backup the Xperia Home data with Titanium Backup or similar and restore it, losing maybe the widgets.

*Tested only on Xperia M2 D2303
BUGS(?)
Sometime the folder icon doesn't change. A phone restart fixed it the couple of times I had the issue. Otherwise applying another theme and then the theme which created the issue again.
The icons' text seems a bit blurry. Probably due to the low dpi of the Xperia M2.
If anyone finds a more recent version (not the betas. Many assets of the themes developed with Theme Creator do not show, folders in particular), please post!
And as usual: TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK. I DON'T TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY.
Xperia Home 10.0.A.0.63 is the most recent one for Android4.4+ devices

Yeah, I tested 10.0.A.0.63 and the folders, together with many other Home assets, do not get the settings from the themes. It's a beta release.
New Google Dialer and Contacts
There's nothing better than have the Google Apps on your device.
This mod switches the AOSP's dialer and contacts, by those provided by Google, bringing the new resources that only Google can give us.
Working perfectly in custom ROMs based in Marshmallow (6.x) and Nougat (7.x)

Google Assistant is a great addition to Android and it works like Siri. You can even ask it whether she likes Siri!
It was previously available only in Google smartphones but Google gradually started giving it out to many others running Marshmallow and Nougat a few months back.
Only for Android Marshmallow users!!! You can find an awesome Marshmallow 6.0.1 ROM from xxMiniWhopperxx on this forum. I'm using it too.
:good::good::good: Thanks to xxMiniWhopperxx :good::good::good:
If you're using a custom OS like CyanogenMod you can get it with the latest Open GApps Aroma package.
The software update which includes the Google Assistant is not available in many countries for the Desire Eye.
Even the marshmallow update is not available in many countries.
To have Google Assistant you phone language should be set to English (US)
Google Assistant replaces Google Now and includes a ton more features !!
