[Q] Signature issues! - Verizon HTC One (M7)

Normally I am not one to be in this position. But right now, I am desperate!
I got my HTC ONE 2 days ago. Did Rumrunner. Then I installed TWRP.
Everything went great. I even installed a rom.
Then back to TWRP. but I made the mistake of wiping everything.
Now I am stuck in FastBoot with the following
Tampered
Relocked
OS-1.10.605.10 (1.10.605.8)
I really don't know where to go at this point. Every time I try to FastBoot an RUU, I get a Signature Error!
Can someone out there in out community please help?
I considered myself good at this as I have been flashing for years. But I am in deep trouble now!
I could really use some direction Please?
Thanks!

Signed RUU showed up here.
Directions on how to flash the RUU are posted below this next instruction:
IMPORTANT: I'm going to link to a RUU restore instruction thread. For your case, STOP after quoted step below succeeds, It may fail a couple of times, just run it again. If you fall out of RUU, get back into RUU and run it again. Once it succeeds, stop. You're now back to stock.
Code:
Fastboot flash zip Rom.zip
:
Here is the thread to instructions, obviously your MD5 will differ. You'll find that MD5 on the NOSROMS site you download the RUU from.
Read it a few times and make sure you understand it. I hope this helps.

Just woke up! Had to sleep my depression away!
I am going to do this now. I'll let you know how it goes.
Many Many Thanks!!!!
My PC is running very slow right now. Long story, but I'll get back to you tonight!!!

I tried 3 times with the first file.
Same outcome.
I am downloading the one for the OS .10.
Maybe that will work.
The are 4 different files.

Hook your phone to your pc make sure your on the twrp home screen. Open your adb folder and open your command window.. Now type abd push then drag your rom zip into the command then type /data/media... That's the only way I could get a zip to take. I did the exact same thing as you a week ago.
Edit.. My bad. Missed the part where u are back to locked.

Taking long to download the file I want to try.
Will have to try flashing before work in the am.
Thanks for everyone that is helping. Tomorrow might be a good day!

Trying to recovery partially bricked phone

Okay, so a friend asks me to fix her Dinc... here's the story.
When I first got the dinc, it only powered up into FASTBOOT (HBOOT 0.92, Radio 2.15). The volume and power buttons don't work. She said it crashed when she FC a program to get more memory.
I tried to flash the phone using pb31img.zip on a newly formatted (fat32) sdcard. It scans the card and errors with older version.
Next I try to flash with RUU. That was successful and I can boot into the phone... in safe mode. In addition, if I shut down the phone and power up again, I get stuck in FASTBOOT and have to redo the RUU.
Okay, I figured with the phone booting into Froyo, all is not lost. I tried to use unrevoked to get root and poke around. That failed with error asking if firmware is too new.
I try to install z4root... that doesn't work either since safe mode seems to mean only default system programs work (I can install, but can't run). Probably why unrevoked failed also.
I'm starting to think it is a hardware issue since the RUU should have fixed everything.
Any ideas???
Thanks.

When it boots and goes into fastboot, none of the buttons are responsive. I have to pull battery.

As I mentioned, none of the buttons in fastboot seems to work, so I can't reboot, just a battery pull. Interestingly, when I have the pb31img there, it scans and tells me its an older version, but then the buttons work... reboots back into fastboot.
I'm thinking of trying the revert to 2.1 and go from there... is it safe to flash over the latest Froyo RUU with 2.15 radio with the following?

Can't get the fastboot to recognize any pb31img.zip file now... it only worked when I first got the dead phone. Now that I have flashed with RUU, the fastboot won't recognize the pb31img file.
I'm going to have to try to manually flash or root using adb... trying to get all the files now.

Any luck Woz?
Yes, Doug gave me a bunch of roms to flash. Nothing worked. The last step we did before I took a break was to get into recovery using adb. Then I wiped cache and data. That didn't seem to work. Flashed another rom using recovery. Nada.
I put the phone down for a few hours. Then I decided to crack it open to see if it was a refurb (cheap label makes me suspicious). Nothing unusual inside, I put it back together and powered on... the thing booted normally... everything worked.
Doug suspects it was the data/cache wipe, I don't know. I think it was the bug that got let out when I cracked it open.

My One X Plagued With "Unfortunately The Process com.EVERYTHING Has Stopped" Messages

My One X Plagued With "Unfortunately The Process com.EVERYTHING Has Stopped" Messages
A few weeks ago my One X started giving me stopped process error messages for, well, for everything. Within 5 minutes of booting the phone up, everything would start stopping. gapps, acore, htc.bg launcher, browser, exchange...everything.
This was on my carrier's stock, ICS ROM, but, since then I've tried a custom JellyBean ROM that I found here. The problem is exactly the same, so I guess it's something deeper....
I've tried factory resets, I've tried with and without a google account linked (as I've read that can be a problem sometimes)....I've cleared cache partition and Dalvik cache....what else can I do?
Is there a "nuclear" option, that's even more intensive a wipe than a "factory reset"?
What else can I try?
Try ARHD 7.2 its basically a stock Rom were as jellybean is a ported version with not much working first I would sugguest flashing back to stock choosing the RUU from your country after your completely stock check for updates then go in bootloader and restore device factory settings don't install any apps until your sure the problem has gone if your still getting problems I would return for repair or replacement

Erk....I'm stuck.
I downloaded a zip full of stock ROMs (One_X_1.26.114.3_odexed.zip), but I don't know what to do to get just the bits I need from it.
Having done "fastboot oem readcid", I know that I need ORANG001 stock ROM, but not sure how to "cook" it. Or even if I need to.
These are the instructions I'm trying to follow, but it's the "extracted and cooked from right RUU" bit that has flummoxed me....I've looked around for the answer, but can't find a thread that doesn't assume a level of pre-knowledge (or intelligence) that I don't have
Install stock rom of your CID
-fastboot oem readcid (to know your CID)
-all roms are based on x.xx.401.xx , so you need to download the right RUU(that matches your CID) and extract rom.zip to cook a stock rom for you
-flash custom stock rom(extracted and cooked from right RUU) on custom recovery
-fastboot flash boot c:\boot.img (flash stock kernel that's inside custom stock rom boot.img file)
RElock the bootloader (you can allways unlock)
-fastboot oem lock
Right RUU file for your CID
-put your phone on fastboot (it will not boot because you have a custom rom on a locked bootloader)
-now you can run the RUU exe file and upgrade your phone

Once I've got the stock ROM bit sorted, I think I'll be okay with the rest! (famous last words)
It tells you to download stock Rom matching your cid then extract it on pc (winRAR) you should get 2 folders one is the boot.IMG and the other is the Rom copy the Rom xxxx.zip to your phone and flash in cwm recovery then fastboot boot.IMG. That's it before updating your phone check stock Rom if its fixed your issues just whack arhd or some think stock based there more reliable

Okay, thanks, I get that bit now. But I don't know how to tell which ROM matches my CID...
I've googled phrases like "ORANG001 stock RUU" etc, but every thread seems to lead to a different
Is it likely to be this (for ORANG001): RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_Orange_UK_1.28.061.9_Radio_1.1204.103.14_...?
The actual flashing, etc, I'm comfortable with...it's just finding the right thing to flash that is doing my head in.

My phone's stuck on 2.3.6, can't upgrade or root

Hi everyone. I had a long journey trying to root my phone, I originally had ICS and tried following this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044645 It was able to get my phone rooted by step 7, but then I couldn't get into recovery mode, it kept giving me:
---------------
Secure booting Error!
Cause : boot certification verify
-------------------------
------------------------------
Enter the fastboot...
Enter the fastboot...
Long time no see!
-------------------------------------------------
So I thought perhaps this doesn't matter at this stage and so I continued on with the tutorial. Eventually (long story short) something happened and now I have downgraded to Android 2.3.6 but my phone is no longer rooted (I don't have 'super user' app and root checker says I'm not rooted). I tried upgrading back to at least ICS through software update but it gives me a "you are not registered" (or something like that) and won't update.
I have no idea what to do now. I honestly just want to get ICS back and give up on this whole rooting attempt. Any ideas/help appreciated.
You should have followed this guide :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044645
It's newer and much easier. Now for the problem at hand, run the v18f exe file from the above guide. That should fix the issue you have then be able to get to any rom from there. Make sure you follow the guide precisely.

Thanks for the reply. I actually was able to just use the LG update on it's own to get ICS back, though the phone isn't rooted anymore.
At some point I did try the tutorial you sent but it wouldn't let me get into recovery mode, it gave me the error I mentioned. I'm just wondering though, if I use that tutorial again, will it work with ICS and v20f? Also, by the end of it what will i get? a rooted phone with Gingerbread? (sorry if they're stupid questions, I'm still learning).

You got that error because you tried to install CWM with the ICS boot loader still installed. The link I provided has you install v18f so it can be rooted and them use the program to keep root so you can downgrade to Gingerbread so CWM can be installed.
One more thing: if all you want is root but don't care about installing another ROM use this to root v20c and stay 100% stock other than root: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460

Okay, I get it. I think I might've missed a step somewhere along the line or something. However, as you said, I really just want to root to give myself the super user ability/app since I find it helpful. I did try the link you provided before and now again but it won't work. First of all I have v20f not v20c (is that why?). Second, I choose normal mode, and then it tells me to look at my phone and click restore. My phone shows a window saying "Restore my data" and "Do not restore" but also asks for a password. Since I don't think I have a password I click on Restore my data (and leave those field blank). My phone says "Restore Starting"...then it says "Restore ended" (within a few seconds) but the Bin4ry bat file won't move on to the next step. It just stays at "Running..." Any ideas?

Ok now we are getting somewhere. First of all v20(x) doesn't matter. If it hangs on you saying "running" just close the "command" window, and try again. The couple of times I have tried it it has always done that the first time but then worked the second or third time. It is at that point the phone is supposed to reboot. Good luck.

First off, thanks for keeping up with me. Well, after like the fifth try, using a way of opening the bat file through cmd manually (not sure how it's any different) I actually got it to say "Successful" and it actually rebooted my device!!...However, it then said something like "Permission denied (are you root?)" or mount failed. So although the file said at the end that my root was successful, I realize it really wasn't and I even made sure; I don't have super user or anything and even root check doesn't say I'm rooted.
I tried it one more time after, but again, it wouldn't reboot. So I tried it again and this time after clicking Restore, I unplugged and plugged my USB. It did say "success" and rebooted my device, though again, the same "mount" error came up and my device isn't rooted.
Any ideas??
Two questions: first what version of windows? Second how are you launching the bat file?

I have Windows 7 64 bit and initially I just launched the bat file but double clicking it/opening it normally. However, as I mentioned, the one time it did work I opened the file using this method: youtube . com/ watch?v=7EpkrCq1gfM (all you do is launch the bat file 'manually' more or less by opening cmd prompt then directing it to the folder with the bat file, then running the bat file)
Okay I will thing you might try.... Copy the bat file along with the stuff folder to c:\. This is a wild stab in the dark but under Windows 7 the root folder has different permissions than sub folders and then just double click on the bat file from there.
If you are still having issues use this process: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044645
Basically you get the ICS leak v18f use the tpsparky method to root then using the keep root method to keep root while you upgrade to v20f.

Tried moving it to c:\ but same error "cannot mount" or whatever.

Does this mean you're suggesting I just do the whole guide all over again or do you mean I can just stop at some step?

You can follow the whole guide if you want to install CWM. However if you use v20f as your kdz file or any other ics kdz this will accomplish what you want.... Rooted ics. Do you have the kdz file for v20f? Or another way to look at it is the whole purpose of the before and after bat files is to maintain root when going from one rom to another. You don't have to go to Gingerbread only if you want to install CWM.
I just wish I knew why you were having to many issues.... Try this open a windows command prompt and go to the stuff folder and type the following command:
adb device
What do you get back in response?

O, okay, I see. Well ya, at this point I just want rooted ICS...which I did have before, I just couldn't get into recovery mode as mentioned. But it seems I need to get gingerbread for that...is that right? That's why I got this error before:
---------------
Secure booting Error!
Cause : boot certification verify
-------------------------
------------------------------
Enter the fastboot...
Enter the fastboot...
Long time no see!
-------------------------------------------------
It meant that even though I had it rooted, because I had ICS it couldn't go into recovery?
As for V20f kdz, I found this thread which seems to give it to you: forum.xda-developers . com/showthread.php?t=2073620 (right?)

I literraly had this exact error on my p930 2 days ago when a tried installing CWM for the first time. the only way i was able to unbrick the phone was following this guide.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1784709&page=4
if you have any questions you can ask me, i just did it on my phone so i should be able to answer unless you run into a problem i didn't
At what stage do you get the secure boot error? Is it after v18f is rooted and you are doing the before and after bat files with. KDZ file?

if his problem happened the same as mine after trying to boot into cwm for the first time you get the error, becuase lg has a secure bootloader. after this i had to follow the unbrick guide, eventually you end up with at&t stock rom, then you are able to boot into cwm and install a custom rom like CM
One thing just occurred to me you need to stop at step 18 on the unbricking guide. If the KDZ that you are using is one of the v20(x)_00.kdz variants do not use adb to push the recovery.img file this WILL brick your phone and cause the secure boot error this is used to push recovery onto v10(x)_00.kdz only.

Okay thanks, I will try this guide once I get the chance and report back to you. Just a question though, I'm assuming this guide will still give me Gingerbread at the end of it, correct?

Um, you mean stop at step 18 of the original guide you linked me or the one that KronicSkillz is suggesting? I honestly just use whatever the guide says/provides, I don't bring in any outside files. Previously I mentioned I might use another one because you suggested it would work well for me by keeping ICS. But originally I just follow the guides step by step.

At the end you'll end up with AT&T stock gingerbread. in the middle you'll be running a stock korean rom, but that is temporary.
as per your 2nd comment if you resintall stock ICS that will rebrick your recovery and CWM will cause another error if you ever try to run it.
this is the reason your phone had the errors you posted
Secure booting Error!
Cause : boot certification verify
-------------------------
------------------------------
Enter the fastboot...

If the whole purpose behind this is you just want ICS why didn't you just run the LG update tool, STOCK ICS can be updated with their stock PC usb tool.
anyways its too late for that.
to save your phone you have to follow that guide to restore it to original AT&T Gingerbread. then you perform a backup with CWM and THEN you can flash whatever ROM you want on your phone be it custom or Stock ICS. I have a feeling flashing the stock ics might rebrick your recovery though. not 100% sure on if it will or not.
---------- Post added at 01:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:22 PM ----------
as per your question about which guide, i think we both linked you the same guide, except the one i linked was the Sticky version that was a little more detailed (i think) but in either case you should pick one guide and stick to it don't read both of them and go back and fourth you could get easily confused even though like i said i think they are the same guide/method of unbricking. There is a reason though that the guide i linked is the TOP STICKY on the forums for this phone. Because it is the solution to unbrick all p930s who have gotten bricked, which is almost anyone who updated their phone since they bought it, a few ppl got lucky and had Roms old enough that LG hadn't locked their recovery yet and they didn't get the error you were seeing.
The only reason I suggested stopping at step 18 was because it seemed like the v20f kdz file was being installed instead of the v10f because of the secure boot error. V20f is ICS, there is no logical reason why v10f is generating the error. Which kdz file are you flashing during that step in the guide?

[Q] Stuck in RUU

TL;DR tried to use the RUU that was just posted and it wasn't zipped properly or something. The system.img fails to flash properly. Now my phone's stuck in RUU and I can't get out of it. Trying to flash a system.img from one of the previous threads yields a:
"load_file: could not allocate -1946158080 bytes"
I kinda need my phone tomorrow so if anyone knows what I should do it would be greatly appreciated!
EDIT: Took a few hours, but fixed.

glad it's fixed brother!!
would hate to see you S-OFFing all these phones and yours is out of the game.
mind sharing the fix?
Had to edit that zip and add the system.IMG from the GPE conversion guide. Flashed everything (phone bootloops). Flashed TWRP and handled everything from there.

Well if you're s-on, the phone wont flash the RUU because if the hash doesnt match (and signatures are broken) it wont flash at all.
I tried re-encrypting it and it yielded the same thing.

CM11 Stuck in HTC Boot image

Hi guys, I had My HTC one verizon working on CM11 smoothly.
Then cyanogenmod sent out a new update and after reboot, My phone was stuck in the blue circle boot screen.
I can't get adb to recognize my device to push a ROM to the phone for recovery. And from what i understand there is no other way to push a zip to the phone.
Fastboot doesn't flash the zip.
EDIT: For future reference: Find the RUU from this page: Guru flash it via fastboot. It will return phone to stock.
Ignore the rest
I wiped all caches, factory reset, wiped dalvik, and did everthing i could, but after hours of trying I haven't accomplished anything.
I can get into recover (i'm using clockworkmod). Bootloader is unlocked, s-off, rooted.... Don't know what else to say
I can't enable debug mode since I can't even boot, and from what I understand that's why adb won't work... But that doesn't make sense since i don't have a system on it. (i wiped everything)
Do you have a nandroid you can restore?

No i do not. I just went over from the stock sense 5, to cm11.
Once i saw everything working i deleted all backups of any type...
Then forgot to back up before updating to the nightly.
So no, no nandroid.
Do you have fastboot working? If so, I would suggest an ruu.

Fastboot working.
Explain please.
I saw RUU phrase used in multiple places but can't figure out what it fully means.

Go to the ruu thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2437436, grab the ruu. Go into fastboot, type fastboot oem rebootRUU...(search before you do though...I'm not100% on phrasing of commands), then when it boots to a black HTC, fastboot flash zip name.zip.
Please search before you do this though...I don't want to give you bad commands. But this should point you in the right direction. Good luck.

Alright, I will look into this once I get home! I was thinking it was something very difficult and time consuming... Didn't realize it could be so simple.
I'll research it. Let you know how it goes!
