So what do you guys think of this?

I think it's very convenient. Even if you're looking to flash another ROM other than cyanogenmod. However, after watching Qbking77's YouTube video, it seems to take quite a while longer than my usual process.

I agree. It's much easier and faster to just use a custom recovery. I guess it's great for people new to flashing roms though. I'm pretty surprised that Google themselves are allowing this in the play store but it's no worse than letting supersu or any other root required app get supported either. This actually roots your phone though and there doesn't seem to be too many disclosures regarding that fact.

So this has been going on for a while and I've just ignored it, tried to search up a fix
But couldn't find anything.
Anyone else had this problem?

Sorry. I use Chrome and dolphin.
Also I'm not rooted either.
I know there was a small update a while back but if I remember correctly it didn't start right after that

I had this happen a while ago. The clipboard was corrupted. There is a procedure to clear it. I will look for it.
Edit:
Take a look at what I posted over here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32659083
Let me know (and click thanks) if this fixes your problem.

Are you rooted? You can clear it without a reset if you are rooted.
Edit: Just saw your later post that you are not rooted. Some have reported that they could clear the clipboard by deleting items using Polaris Office. You might try that but it did not work for me.
Another thread on the issue can be found here.
I've been looking around for quite some time for my first rom flash on the S3. Before this device I had the Epic 4G Touch, and one of my favorite features on roms was the CRT Off animation when I locked it. I haven't been able to find any roms(TW based) that include it. Are there any non-heavily themed roms that include it, or would there be a way to enable it on another rom? I plan on flashing Team Sonic's FreeGS3, and would love that added feature on it.

There is currently no way to enable it.
Just search next time.

I had done a bit of Googling but found nothing helpful. And I couldn't search XDA cause I'm on mobile and then search on the app is absolutely horrible. Sorry though.

If you need to search xda while mobile just Google what you're looking for and add xda at the end, ie: "cm10 sprint galaxy s3 xda" works like a charm

I don't know anything about coding, but it is possible on this phone as it works on AOSP roms. It just requires a bit of knowledge on decompling framework, adjusting, then adding that back into your current rom. There is no current quick zip flash method to enable or disable though.

It drives me insane when I'm using the device one-handed and trigger this "feature" when I scroll near the edge of the screen...
Same here especially when trying to bring up the quick controls.
Same here on international version

There seems to be no option. The browser itself is one of the best stock browsers I've ever used. But I want to punch sammy in the throat at times for not allowing that to be turned off.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
I agree I would also like it to be disabled. The other big annoyance in the stock browser is the double tap to zoom doesn't work (over zooms every time - naturally you have to be in desktop view to see this). There is a setting to alter it but it doesn't help. Firefox works correctly but I end up using the stock browser most of the time and just pinching.
I no longer have this problem. I was stock AT&T, then rooted, then running International ROM with a stock browser that doesn't have the edge zooming. Yes, it did annoy me when I had it.
Wow! You're right! I also changed to a different rom a while back but kind of forgot about the problem. I thought I was being more careful I guess. No! I forgot only because the problem was gone and didn't notice! Yet another reason to get off stock! Great info, big

No movement on this topic I guess. This feature drives me nuts as well but I don't want to go to a different rom to resolve it.

so the other day i saw a new app called magna carta and checked it out. for those of you that dont know what it is: http://www.droid-life.com/2013/06/2...tall-to-be-the-first-to-get-jay-zs-new-album/
now according to the article it would say your phone is not compatible when trying to install it, but when i did it went through the install and everything and said i would receive the album. im wondering if this is because i am on rootbox and the build is changed and it makes it compatible with the app.
what id like is for someone who is completely stock to try install the apps and post results. my theory is that if it wont let you install we could change the build.prop and trick it to think it was samsung thus letting any rooted android user have access to getting the album free.
funniest part is im not a rap fan nor a jay-z fan but i think this would be cool for those who are and dont have a galaxy.
I'm stock and rooted and unlocked but this is what i get.

I'm on AOKP and I was able to download it, so I'm wondering if you have 4.2.2 on your phone you can get it.
If this was the case than someone with a nexus could get it.

I checked the build prop on this rom and it hasn't been changed, so I'm not sure how I was able to get it, I was expecting to get the "not compitable with your device" message, but it gave me the install option.
I was able to download the album as well. I know a lot of s4 owners had problems with the app. Also I'm using Banks minimal gapps, so not sure if thats the reason why I was able to get it.
How do I prevent apps from running constantly in the background? And by apps I mean Samsing link, S Health, Samsung Watch On, and Samsung Apps
I'm not rooted, but when I was rooted I used greenify to disable them but now I can't. I'm on 4.3. Also, I'm not looking to uninstall or disable the app, just prevent it from running in the background.
Thanks in advance

Rooting simply allows you to gain super user and control every single aspect of your phone. You can disable battery hogging services to removing preinstalled apps to customizing everything about your phone. Think of your phone as a demo app and root is the premium key that unlocks all the features of the full retail version. ^.^

This.
You can also uninstall SuperUser really easily (there is literally a button in the app settings to do just that). That will unroot your phone and let you get OTA's again in seconds. Then just just have to re-root when you're done the OTA.
This, of course, is if you JUST have the SuperUser app installed as part of your root package. If you have a custom recovery installed that's a different story. You'd have to remove that too.
But if you just root with a method like Chainfire's Auto Root, you will have the stock rom, stock recovery, and can easily ditch the SUperuser app so you can get an OTA whenever it comes out. Since they dont' come out super often, it's not in the way at all. It's not like you'd have to do that every week.
Just some suggestions! Hope they are useful.

Whatever happened around here? I would have thought someone would have informed the OP that those apps are not "running". Yes they are taking up RAM but this isn't Windows either. The way m we memory is handled is vastly different and in some ways, opposite of conventional Windows thinking. They are not using power either.
I never freeze an app or force kill it unless it causes an issue. If I don't use it - root, uninstall, be happy. I only say all of that so the OP didn't pickup the bad habit of killing apps to regain RAM. Its unnecessary to say the least.

Another thing is that some apps will, by default, execute when opening certain web based applications (FF, Chrome, Internet). Same goes when enabling Wifi.
It does get tedious disabling them all the time if you're someone who wishes to have your device quiet and clean.
I just decided to uninstall them all via Titanium backup...Most of them you can download via Play if you ever wanted them back.
