Belt case with magnetic + phone compass = disaster?

I was wondering if a case with a magnetic to keep it closed instead velcro would damage the phone compass/gyro.
I remember when I had my G1 magnetic cases were a big no-no.

I just ordered one with a magnetic flap. I have used one with a magnet on my 3GS without issue.

I actually purchased a leather pouch last night for my captivate. It has 2 magnetic clips on it. The case has a flip down front so you can see who is calling without taking the phone actually out of the holster.
Really cool, will see if I can find some pics.

I used my old Blackberry Bold 9000 stock holster, which is magnetic (flap and outside of case have magnets). I didn't notice any problems at all, unlike with my Milestone which went into Car or Home Dock modes if it came too close to a magnet.

lol epic fail in the design

if you guys have a store (chain) called Dollar General they have leather cases that the captivate fits, yes it is a magnet flip lid but it was only 6 bucks

Thinking about the Case-Mate barely there and the OEM car dock, have questions!

I just sold my HTC EVO 4G for almost $200 dollars (launch day phone) on eBay!
Going to use some of that money to buy some accessories. I've already ordered 3 spare batteries and a wall charger.
I'm looking for a good style'ish case. I'm thinking the Case-Mate barely there aluminum case. How easy do these come on and off if I want to swap batteries OR use it with the Samsung factory card dock?
Which brings up the car dock, how are you guys/gals who have those liking them? I miss having a Garmin GPS, thinking about buying the OEM Samsung dock. I think the screen on my Epic Touch 4G is actually bigger then my GPS anyway! Might make a good in-car GPS unit.
Anyway I mostly want to know about the Case-Mate case, thanks!
Oh, and does anyone have any GOOD pictures of the Case-Mate installed?

I strongly suggest the steinheil ultra crystal screen protector, the matte black tpu case (or smoke grey) and the samsung branded stand/dock that charges a spare battery (and comes with a stock samsung battery as well) for home or office use. I have seen the case mate and IMO it is bulky compared to the tpu - it also weighs more.
The Phone, with the tpu case on, still sits in the samsung home dock perfectly, so no need to take it off to rest the phone there, and if you want to charge the phone and the battery at the same time put the phone in horizontally, and plug a spare (or the stock charger) charger into the phone. Horizontally obviously so you have access to the charging port...

I agree. I have a matte black (matte b/c glossy will show prints and smudges) tpu case that cost $10 incl. shipping. Easy and quick to put on/take off. Plus it won't scratch the phone since it's not hard plastic. OEM cardock is a def. recommended. Had one with my old SGS4G, super conventient especially w/ CarHome Ultra, PowerAmp, and Vlingo/Google Voice Search.**** CHEAPEST place I've found the car mount and desktop dock for $75 combined was @ this site: thecellguru.com/Phones/Samsung/Epic_4G_Touch

How multiple battery friendly is the TPU case? I have 4 batteries. I want to be able to swap them as needed.
Will the TPU case hold up to being removed and put back on a lot like the Case-Mate will? Also, what is the TPU case covered with? I have a slip on silicone case for my phone now and it SUCKS. Everything sticks to it. Lint, hair, dust, dirt, seamen, sand, you name it, it sticks! =D
I sorta liked the idea of the Case-Mate because I was hoping stuff wouldn't stick. I know nothing of the TPU case but it does look like a case Sprint stocks locally. They had this case that said TC on the back of it at a local 3rd party Sprint store.

Anybody know where i can find a case that actually fits like a charm instead of looking like a t-shirt two sizes too big???

I bought an original. SAMSUNG Book Cover Case from eBay. They are a bit pricey but quality is great and it fits like a glove!

Î checked out a lot of cases. The official Samsung one is pricey (watch for fakes... see the other active thread about this case). It is over priced, but I think it's worth it. The fit and finish is very good.

Cheap Flip Case

Ordered a black and a white last week. Lets see how they are, not too bad for a few bucks though.

The original flip case is a back cover replacement but these are shells that you add to the back so it makes the phone feel thicker. Also, something to note is that when you flip the cover around you are going to cover your camera. And also when its closed you cant see the notification light.
I bought the original from best buy, but didnt realize those issues and returned the cover the next day. ALSO. For those who actually buy the original samsung flip cover, once you install it its VERY VERY HARD TO REMOVE, I had to work hard not to scratch my phone trying to get that thing off. Very disappointed with it.
And on another note, I hear that the wireless charging will be a battery cover replacement accessory, so such large back shells may interfere with the charging. I'm going to hold out till the wireless charging is released.

Smart Cover Auto Wake up casing?

Apart from the LG QuickCover which is rather expensive, is there any other casing that has similar build and feature? I saw this in ebay and it seems to be supporting the auto wake up when flipping open the case. Not 100% sure though :S

I ordered the one you linked and it'll be here sometime later this month/early next month. I had a Nillkin slim case on my N4 that I was happy with so I'm hoping I'll have similar luck with the flip case. I'm just going to use a hole-punch for the notification LED.

I have a cruzerlite wallet type case and has the feature. I don't care much for it though. Got it in 4 days and that's pretty fast compared to ebay/china shiptimes which usually last about 10 biz days.

Works well and protects the phone.
My Nexus 5 fell out of my pocket last night and landed on a concrete floor. Slight scuff on the case. N5 is fine no marks or damage

I have that Nillkin Flip case and I really like it. It stays neatly closed at all times and there is a wake magnet. It took 3 weeks to receive in the mail tho. (I payed 7$ all in).
