TWRP Backup Gone - Sprint LG Optimus G

So I've noticed that when flashing new ROMs, my old backups tend to disappear. Which is super obnoxious... Because if I need to go back to stock, I have to use a combination of LNGPST and LG Flash Tool...
Anyone else having this issue and/or know how to solve it?

When in twrp try tapping restore. Then when the next screen shows up, try tapping "Storage: Internal Storage" at the top. This has worked for me a couple times

(Req)JB backup anyone? for those that can't boot JB

Some of us Inc2 owners r having issues with JB booting and/or extreme lag(cpu maxed out).
this is asking alot. could someone post up a BACKUP from twrp(preferred) or cwm recovery of a recent cm10 from aero of dkstunna? Preferable - a clean flash with gapps and have it boot, but not setup up gmail stuff. don't want your personal stuff. then do a backup and post it up if possible. I know this time consuming and a lot to ask for but there will b many thanks and might solve our problems.

OK I'll work on it tomorrow, just remember...when installing and using 4ext, be sure all your partitions are 4 ext formatted, I made that mistake once
UPDATE: Uploading un-booted, fresh flashed CM10 11/05 build, with 4.2 GAPPS flashed in. I'll let it upload overnight (1Mbps upload) and post a link in your inbox with md5 sum in the morning.

Just unzip and put in sdcard/clockworkmod/backup. Be sure to wipe data, cache, dalvik, and system before restoring. Also just a heads up, because this is a fresh install the CPU will max out for a few minutes while android.process.media scans the phone. Good luck, i hope it works for you.

ok I'll give it a try late 2nite/2moro. even tho u say to put it in a cwm folder I'll assume 4ext uses that folder for backups. thx a bunch

Wait is there a way to fix this? On every reboot i have to let my phone just sit there, if I unlock it the phone freezes then reboots.

Not that I know of I just know that if you wipe the caches is it has to reschedule media scanning and takes a lot of CPU power on first boot

I made a nandroid backup in CWM when I was on RC1. I'm trying to do a nandroid restore but it keeps failing when it gets to system, so I figured if I go back to RC1, everything should be identical so it should work.
If not, I don't know why the nandroid restore is failing. Any ideas?

Could be a hand full of things.
Corrupt nandroid, different recovery etc
You could always flash stock and try to restore it than.
I've honestly never had that issue not sure if flashing rc1 would change anything because it overwrites the system anyway

I put the same CWM version on and I copied the nandroid backup to my computer. Is there a way to verify that the nandroid is good?
I tried advanced restore too but only the boot seems to work. System, data, and cache seem to all give an error.
Are you saying that I should flash back to stock rom and try a restore from there?

[Q] Am I trapped AOSP?

I flashed an AOSP Rom (SuperNexus) on my LGOG. Now when I try to flash a Stock (ZVB) based ROM, my phone reboots every time data connects. I tried Stock Rooted and Lifeless. The ROM's will flash onto my phone, but I can't get any data.
I tried installing LGNPST, but every time I connect my phone and open the LGNPST software I get a message that LG USB/Parallel dongle is not detected. I flashed back to Super Nex and my connection is fine.
And I am re-flashing, not restoring a backup. I ran a backup in TWRP before I flashed Super Nex so that I could get back to my Stock setup, but TWRP can't see anything to restore.
Ugh

sounds like you're having similar issues as bmp7777, have you made any changes to your storage? as in the whole sdcard0 stuff? are your backups stored in sdcard0 ? when you flash a aosp rom it changes the way your storage is set up make sure you put your important stuff on sdcard0

Hope I didn't come across as rude, wasn't my intention, just thought up the quickest way I knew would solve it
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app
This happened to me a couple months ago.
Easy solution:
Go to TWRP -> Wipe -> Advanced -> make sure you wipe all four options data, dalvik, cache, and system.
When you factory reset you only wiped data, dalvik, and cache. You forgot to wipe system, then you can go back to flashing normally.
Dont worry this wont wipe your SDcard.
Well I ****ed up. I formatted the data partition. I am now hard bricked. No recovery, no boot, nothing. glad I purchased that insurance.

Are you actually hard bricked because at this point normally I'm pretty sure you could just LGNPST back to stock? I mean I've wiped everything before to rule out dirty flashing related bugs on ROMs and I don't think TWRP actually touches any of the really critical low-level files.

I had the same issue with LGNPST. The solution is very simple. Uninstall LGNPDT completely from your computer. Go into start-computer-c drive and delete folders labeled LG electronics off of there and inside program files. Then reinstall LGNPST but right click the .exe file and select install as administrator. This will solve your issue and flash back to stock. Make sure you follow the normal process of selecting the .dll and .bin files.
Let me know if this helped.

My phone acting extremely weird HELP!!!!

So i decided to go from illusion to stockaroma v2 and once i got the phone setup it said i was running low on storage space so later on i rebooted my phone and i got android.phone has crashed blabla
Upon rebooting it kept crashing and crashing so i decided to wipe and reflash stockaroma but funny thing is everytime id wipe and start over I'd get same settings apps and stuff already preloaded as if cwm wasnt even wiping i tried couple times reflashing the rom didnt work..
So i decided to restore my backup now when i went ahead to do that o couldn't because it was saying there is no files ? And i flashed a rom i had on my sdcard but even tho i wiped i got some stuff preloaded which is not normal ? And now i got like 7 times the same directory it looks like this : sdcard/emulated/0/0/0/0 ??
Everything is messed up and down i do not want to go through odin since i have a damn slow computer which shutdowns by its own now imagine me flashing and it crashes...
So my question is how may i restore my backup ? I have like many "0" directory just not sure which one to delete as each contains different file ??
Please help me out im not a noob but this is the first time ive seen this

Sorry but Odin seems to be your best bet or go buy an external sdcard and reader (as I've advertised on all forums before). This is also why we say to update your recovery to the latest one constantly, in many threads and most OP posts of most roms. Good luck. Also always having a backup of all your contemts on memory is recommended before messing with flashing ROMs. Live and learn.

Funny thing is in 4 years never been through anything similar you're telling me live and learn like i probably never read anything before flashing which is not the case i am always careful....
My guess is i ran out of storage space and maybe thats why there was so many /0 folders now that i cleaned some junk im all set up back and running just was wondering what happened and i had the latest cwm touch recovery so i don't know how should i upgrade my recovery if an update isn't out?

I say live and learn cause you didn't have thing backed up like you should and you made a mistake. I've yet to see anyone have duplicate /0 for that reason and I'm pretty sure that wasn't the cause. Its cause you weren't on the latest or even up to date to handle 4.2.2. I never said you weren't careful but in lots of the threads including illusion my post and Ramsay's, I think, says make sure you have updated your recovery and backup your sdcard contents. Just saying and its a friendly heads up, also advised you on external sdcard. No need to be defensive, just giving pointers and helping, bud.

In TWRP there's an option to only wipe internal sd if you want to try that.
Or maybe if you Odin the stock firmware it'll kill the symlink or whatever is holding it there. Then try to delete.
Or factory reset?

Will I lose my internal memory? Meaning everything I've loaded on to the device?

Yes but you should have made a recovery file right? It's either that or no phone, weigh it.

Now, be careful of the apps that you load. One of them might have been the cause.... And.... Make backups.....

Thanks, I installed 2 root apps, GMD Auto hide Soft Keys and Smart StatusBar + last night..
I freaked out thinking I had to reinstall the apps and data but everything seems to be there.
Again, thanks to everyone that helped.

Will do. Scared to power off my Nexus 7 now lol =]
Doing a factory reset in the recovery clearly states it only wipes the userdata, cache and dalvik cache - not your internal storage. I prefer to do everything my self manually instead of using ROM Manager, GooManager, Recovery Manager, Nandroid Manager, etc which makes a mess of my internal storage.
And it happened again.. This can't be normal. Anyway, did another wipe. no worries but this seems to be happening a lot with other users..

In case there is any confusion.
Factory reset through twrp will NOT wipe your virtual sdcard (ie /data/media)
Factory reset through stock recovery WILL wipe your virtual sdcard.
Yeah, I got that now. Lol I got play with the device tonight and figure out what is causing it to boot loop.

It would be nice if you posted your findings to help others.
