HTC ONE removes app functionality shortly after flashing new Rom.. - Verizon HTC One (M7)

I've been flashing new ROMs here and there done I've been S-Off and Unlocked, but for these past couple times, I lose functionality of the settings button and "add a new message" button inside the messaging app.. and the same thing with the TV app.. the top soft buttons stop working. For adding a remote and the button settings stops working.. .. any ideas on what happened??

Sounds like you are turning off transition animations on sense 5.5.
That's a known side effect.

Thank you.
I don't have that, or anything, under accessibility settings.
AFAIK, only CyanogenMod (and CM-based ROMs) will carry that setting. I haven't seen it in Sense or Ruby.
THANK YOU!!!
I too enabled this feature thinking it would be really nice. But I soon found that if you put the phone on speaker and have one of those auto-select prompts when you call a company and the screen times out you are basically screwed because you can't get the screen to come back. Pushing the power button ends the call.
I was running a Cognition Rom.
Adjusting your volume didn't wake your screen?

How to get back to phone call ?

Is there a way besides sliding the notification bar and clicking on the phone call item to go to the phone call status ? from a shortcut or a widget ?
I'd rather just press home and have it on the screen to return to it.
Would love that too. What makes it worse is when i go to swipe the notification bar, I invariably trigger the proximity sensor which turns off the screen.

or just hit the phone button at the bottom.
Your only other option is to open the dialer/phone app. Meaning, the stock/Sense one, not DialerOne or your replacement dialer.
I can root, install Roms, and all the other geeky ****..
Yet the most basic thing... Making a phone call.... I still cannot figure out..
Flashing over to another call
Three way calling (still cannot figure this out right)
getting back to the phone while in a current call.
Is there a hold button?
LOL

Exactly.
I'm running CM6 and the stock dialer you have to press something extra to get to the actual call.

[Q] Keyboard, Camera button issues and more.

I loved my epic for the first 4 months! But now i have tons of issues popping up...I need some guidance. Below are my issues im dealing with.
-Space bar on Keyboard, When I hit space bar instead of a "space" it types out "5tgv"....touch screen keyboard still works.
-Camera button, when i hit the camera button, it brings me too a google search, if i hit it again it types "6yhb" in the search field.
-Apps using mediaplayer do not work, i get "Mediaplayer is now in error state" then i get "mediaplayer is now in completed state" back and forth.
I'm currently on stock Froyo.eco5.....should i call it a day and get a new phone?
I would take it to sprint and have them look at it. Do u have the insurance for it?

Pressing B, S and G buttons bring up programs instead of typing that letter

Whenever I press the B button it brings up the stock browser, G brings up Gmail and, S brings up the Messaging app.
It makes it difficult to type as I have to keep missing these letters out.
I have not changed any settings on my phone, it suddenly started to happen today..
Any ideas?
Go to settings, applications, quicklaunch. And disable all keyboard shortcuts.

Try a hard reboot (turn off the phone with fastboot disabled if you have Sense). This happened to me when I was running MIUI for abit, a reboot eliminated the problem.

This is the easiest way. No one really uses those.

Holding down the search key for 4 seconds fixes it as well

This did the trick, many thanks!

Mimicry ROM - Keyboard shortcuts

I have installed the Mimicry ROM and it is great, but I have an issue that sometimes the keyboard shortcuts are activated and I cant turn them off. Simply pressing B will bring up browser etc.
This is annoying and I have to reboot the phone to get rid of it. The virtual keyboard works fine, but the physical keyboard has the shortcuts. In older Gingerbread versions I just went to Applications -> Quick Launch and removed the shortcuts, but I cant seem to find a way on the ICS-style mimicry ROM
Anyone any ideas?
I think the shortcuts are activated / deactivated by hitting the search key. Next time try to hit the search key (to deactivate shortcuts) instead of reboot.
It hasnt happened today yet, but I was typing and kept randomly pressing the Search key and nothing has happened, so I dont think that is the cause of the on/off shortcuts
Those are definetly shortcut features, cant recall specificaly what to do with mimicry but i believe you have to hit alt then the magnifing glass to activate or turn off

Thanks for the replies, but function and search key doesn't replicate the shortcuts, it allows me to type as normal
I haven't suffered from the stuck shortcuts issue since gb myself, but when it happens just hit the search key to fix it. As for the shortcuts themselves, they're actually built into Android. You activate them by hitting search+ letter. With Andromadus Audacity / Mimicry you can find the shortcuts menu under Settings -> Andromadus -> Quick Launch
