I may be wrong but when my phone was stock the screen would stay on if I was looking at it but not actually touching the screen. I'm on carbonrom and am wondering if that's possible.. or could someone suggest a mod or app for this to work?

well i was typing the other day & i think i broke the screen by touching it too hard ? now i dont have insurance or anything but i might have to unroot my phone & bring it to tmobile to see whats wrong unless anyone has an idea what it can be , but now to describe whats wrong . my phones colors are way off , there isint an actual crack in the screen the colors look almost inverted & im not sure what it could possibly be , i tried reflashing roms & going into recovery but its clearly the screen , so if anyone has ideas on what it could be im just looking for more information on it because im not quite sure whats wrong , thanks !
Hey i just bought a gs3 carrier is telus. I have random horizontail lines on the screen only when in browser or doing anything else on the ui but not when playing video heres some screen shots everything works fine but they get in the way of text and pictures
Interesting. Because you are able to take a screenshot of it I highly doubt its a hardware issue.
Upon further inspection you can see the line is broken on the last picture. Once again, can't be a problem with the LCD.
You sure that it isn't the background wallpaper that's designed like that? If anything I would reset the phone and see if it disappears. Or bring it back to telus.
OR! Root the phone and install a custom rom. I mean you are posting this in XDA anyways right?? Lol

Im thinking a rom will fix it and its not the walpaper because the lines appear in the browser too i tired changing the wallpaper it didnt work also they arent allways in the same spot they move and flicker as i use the phone but i got a scratch on the back i might just use the 14 day best buy exchange to get a new 1

I have not long been using AOKP for very long, but i can say overall i love it, i have a few issues though.
I am aware of course it is a unofficial ROM and to expect it to run perfectly would be ridiculous and i was hoping if anybody had experienced anything similar and had any solutions?...
- My headphone jack has 100% stopped working since installing is ROM, i even reinstalled an old backup of MIUIv4 and it was working fine so it defiantly isn't the hardware.
- Black screen notifications, if i received an IM like whatsapp or even a SMS my led would light up and the screen backlight will turn on but its just a black screen?
- Fail to unlock screen first time around, now this doesn't happen all the time, maybe 30-40% of the time, but ill press the unlock button... the backlight will turn on but again its just a black screen, so i have to re-lock and unlock again and it will 100% work the second time... its kind of annoying.
Other than that the ROM works fine for me, i really don't want to lose the JB OS... is there a stable alternative maybe? or hopefully a simple fix.
By the way is based on their latest build.

UPDATE: ive given the ROM a go and i must say its a lot more stable than i thought it would be when its a "mishmash" of different ROMs put together.
i still have the headphone jack issue thought, i read a few other forums that people are experiencing using ROMs based on CM10... have you not had this issue?
So I decided to make the jump from cm10.1 to paranoid android to try out the new pie feature. I finally figure out how to get it enabled and to work, but if I lock the screen and unlock 90% of the time it won't show back up unless I go to settings and then it decides to work again.
I found some info after searching but this does not work either.

Well, i suggest after unlocking the device, give it 2 or 3 seconds then try to use PIE i guarantee 99.9% It will work all the time =)

Hmmm, as another lad had told me, always swipe up from the notification led place, and give it a good slow (ish) swipe up, and i garuntee 99.8% it will always work.
It doesn't respond to just sliding your finger in one motion. If you make kind of a small L shape where pie should be then it works 100% of the time (at least for me it does) and give it a second to recognize the gesture. Remember your phone is touch screen and you control a lot with just a touch. Make sure you have good performance settings, that will also help load it faster.

Try LMT on any ROM till pie matures on paranoid android. It works good.

Literally after I made this thread thought, hmmmm maybe I should try a different kernel then the stocker. Loaded up ak kernel and has not had a issue sense then.

I have an lg phoenix 4 and I'm really not sure what is going on with it
I guess the easiest way to say it is
My phone screen at random times and on random wesites the screen acts like it gets scrambled or something
I was very lucky to get a few pictures of the screen I would upload them but I'm not sure how to do that on here if anyone can help or tell me where to go for help and also if anyone wants to see the screen shots I got lmk and ill try upload them
