Currently on stock Rom, and when I flashed roms, carbon and pacman, I lost all my data even when I recovered apps through Tibu. Is there a way, most probably, that I can go from stock, 4.1.2 to a 4.3.1 Rom and recover old data?

If you backed up app and data with Titanium, it should be there. Even when restoring, you might need to restore the individual data from some apps. I have done this many times. But be aware, sometimes Titanium doesn't like some roms. I am using cm10.2 and don't have any problems with the restore. Make sure you set you backup folder for the external disk. When you flash a new rom, you will need to reinstall Titanium and have it detect the backup folder again under preferences.

Suppose to but data didn't work as well for me. Tibu, IMO, does the data better.

You need to move your data, it's all there but just in the wrong place, Android 4.3.1 puts your data in internal SD in a folder named 0, android 4.1.2 puts the data in internal SD, when you flash from stock to 4.3.1 you need to move/copy the data in your internal SD to that folder 0 and then everything should be fine and you will be able to restore with TiBu.

Why move it? Set Titanium preferred backup folder to external and don't worry about it.

Menu, preference, select back up folder. Make it a folder on external drive. I made on that says Titanium Backup... Easy to remember. Select it and follow instructions. Only thing is you need to have Tibu detect it on whole device each time you flash but it is there.

I always copy it, it may work to move it to external and I guess it doesn't hurt to try it.

Just flashed Cyanognemod 10.1.2 Stable from Cyanogenmod 10.0.0 Stable. Had to update my bootloader to I747UCDLK3. Worked fine, flashed new Cyanogenmod just fine. I'm on at&t.
Preemptively, I backed up all of my apps using Titanium Backup Pro to a flashable .zip file, and then flashed them so now I have all of my apps and their settings. Sweet.
I go to update some of them, but am told I have insuffiencent space. No biggie, I did make a lot of fluff when backing stuff up. Though I always generally cut and paste those to my computer for safer keeping. Which I did do this time. So now I'm wondering, what is taking up my space? I first check the Android storage settings, and I get this thrown at me. Looks like I have 12.05GB total space, normal, but only 455MB available! But...when I add up all of the usage claimed by each different category and I get a total of hardly over 1GB. So my free space should be nearly 11GB. Confusing.
I then use a third-party space app and it shows this. 10+GB usage by "System Data" and that same ~1GB used as reported by Android itself. I can't seem to get any options for said chunk of data. Any ideas?
Did you wipe dalvik cache/cache/system/data? If not you have to; since it is still CM but 4.2.X VS 4.1.

You're looking for old files from when you were on the lg software..
In root explorer they are in
Data/media/
On my s3 I would use TB and back up all my apps and data and when I flash a new ROM I would just do a batch reinstall of all my ****. Now I can't do that because I can't move apps to my SD card and I had stuff on TB but when you do a full wipe you lose it all. So I tried moving the back up to my SD card and it will not read that back up of TB on my SD card
Sent from my LG-E980 using xda app-developers app
I don't follow you...when I full wipe it doesn't format my internal sdcard..
Now again when I switched to cm10 from stock I had to manually go to
data/media/ and I had to move my entire titanium folder to the new internal sdcard location and then titanium found my backups fine.
I think he wiped the internal SD.

Yes you need to do that..normally i do
Wipe all user data
Flash cm10.1
Flash gapps
Wipe all user data
Reboot system
Ok this is really bothering me I use TB for my backups for my apps. When I flash a new Rom and I go to reinstall my apps they are not there because you have to do a full wipe when flashing a Rom so how can I flash a Rom and be able to reinstall my apps and games with the data with them. Like games I lose all my saved points

Maybe I'm missing something but I back up my tb on my sd card so a full wipe only effects the internal storage.
When I back up with tb it saves to my internal not my external card I have always used tb never any problems is there a way to back up to my external? So what I did last night is back up my game real racing 3 moved it to my external card flashed a Rom installed tb and it did not pick it up on my card moved back to internal card and it picked it up. So I restored it and all it restored was the app no data so I lost my cars and everything. So I went back to stock cause I made a back up and I have all my stuff but if I want to flash a Rom I will lose my game data

You have to go to preferences and set backup folder to external card. After flashing, reinstall TiBu. Do preferences again, detect whole device, select backup location, say use current folder and you should see your backups.

It should be on the root of the internal storage. To prevent this, stick to one version of the os. No one is going to give you their backup/nandroid. Go through the development section, there's a few 4.1.2 stock Roms with root.

In my past experience with cwm wiping data always wiped the internal storage.. So one way to prevent it from happening is to make backups to the external sdcard instead of internal.. I don't know how it works now because I've been using twrp for a while now.. And there is stock ROMs in the development section, you can just download one and flash it

Normally rom backup is secured and will not be wiped
You can download es file explorer and give root permission
Go to /device,- mnt folder - shell folder - you will find cwm folder and in that backup folder containing your all backup
Try it
