[Q] A new look of Xperia PLAY Case, anyone bought this? - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been using a skin protector on my phone for some time now, but have started to look for a case to have just in case.. (cough)
I came across this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/330843591897?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
And I have never seen this type before and thought I would ask the community if anyone has used this case before.

I have used it a few months.
It a good case if your phone drops
For gaming it's not good the case makes the phone fat :sly:
And it's for phone speakers :sly:
So less sound.
If you want to use the volume buttons they wont work good :sly:
Sorry for my bad English.

Would you mind taking some photos of your phone with this case on it? I would like to see how it actually looks rather then a render on an ebay listing. Thank you

I will try to do it if i have time

Thank you, much appreciated.

I absolutely love this case. I had this one for more than a year now.

I zoomed in on the case and I can see slits for the speakers... so they are not covered up as I thought they were. Can you tell me if the sound is muffled on this case?
Thank you in advance.

Decided to buy the case, awaiting final invoice with correct shipping to the US. I emailed the seller and he informed me this case would be his last, once they sell out they are gone for good from him. I bought one and there was 1 left.
Soon as I get the case I will throw my thoughts into this thread and request a mod to move this to Accessories thread.
If anyone with experience with this case can still leave their thoughts here I would very much appreciate it. Thank you.

Ive also got 2 of these. They both have quite a few scratches. Ill post pics as soon as possible. No problems with speakers for me, and volume buttons arent that bad.

Here are some pictures. Btw the case is around a year old and ive dropped it a lot of times, so there are some scratches. I cant take photos with the phone cause im taking the photos from my xperia play, but i put a photo with the back cover on.

When using the case does it push the screen and gamepad Away from each other? I had a case that was similar and if iooked at the phone from an angle of the headphone jack you could see it clearly pushing tje screen apart from the rest of the phone. I appreciate your feedback.

Looks to me like after ayear this case has held up pretty good. I went ahead and ordered the case from ebay. Turns out the price is for two cases. So.. here's to hoping it works out better then my prior cases. And thank you for the photos. Really gives me an idea of the case and reliability.

I do have to say though, that after removing the case A LOT of times, it starts to "bend" and a small gap opens, and dust seems to go in there and ruin the look. I dont know if its just me, the phone or the case. Heres a pic
Sent from my SXP [R800i]

Ive found using a spare battery plate and some flexible adhesive allows the case to seal up nice, its bendable without breaking and wont grt dust and junk inside.

So a bit bummed/irritated. Seller contacted me to inform me the case is discontinued and no longer available. Despite the fact he still has a listing on ebay. I'm guessing he decided he didnt want to ship the US.
Can anyone tell me the brand and perhaps the model of this case? I really liked it from the looks and would like to continue to search for it elsewhere.

I have these cases and just bought another one recently, I am also from the US and you can get them at these links, you can choose your kind of case package:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/380388025235 Black mixed case without screen protector
http://www.ebay.com/itm/380769857814 Black mixed case with screen protector
They ship from Hong Kong but I have done business with easyworldwidetrading twice and never had issues. Positive experiences. :good:

Even though these cases are cheap I really want to get one that people have used and can tell me if its worth getting or not. Ive used both a Otterbox (worst freakin case in the world at least for the XP) and a Trident.... didnt care for it too much.

I have uploaded several pictures from each side I could best provide, The Xperia Play is a AT&T variant with the use of the pacer carbon fiber skin from the gamepad and the back cover which should not be a problem with the use of the case, it makes the back cover press on the sticker slightly but still give that firm hold.
I did drop this phone a couple times for the 6 months I had with this case and the phone was bought pre-owned, the phone is fantastic still, the case edges does not rub on the pad or the side as the sides a slightly down by a fraction of a millimeter (this could be the case because of the skin on the back cover) but it could be flushed to the pad, visually it looks flushed. I am planning to carry my Xperia Play for a long while, maybe another year before I go on another device, I just gotten the 2nd case from the same seller and same package as you seen from my last reply, the second case has a better quality but each case from I seen can vary if the case comes with tiny defects, it wont be anything to send back for refund. If I want to buy another case I will because it fully protects my Xperia Play other than the open ports and the shoulder buttons but that's a given from any other case other than the Ottercase which I found a review for and my opinion of sholder buttons was the same for me.
There are also case that comes in different colors which I found on eBay and they also have grey, blue, purple, and white. I had experience with case worth less than three bucks and the same dilemma keeps comes back, the teeth of the case are cheap and the quality of the shells scratch even if you don't try to drop it. but unlike the cheap cases, this mixed case has rubber teeth that goes all around the phone to create a large hold which works great, it's hard to remove if dropped and that problem of teeth breaking is solved; the plastic part of the mixed case it durable from scratching lightly and has a space for the Sony Ericcson logo, the color is like foggy transparent white, it's not a problem to me personally and it would look like a slight grey on any phone, from normal room lightly it looks like dark grey. The thickness of the mixed case is the slim on the top of the phone, the buttons on the bottom does not touch the surface and the sides of the bezels are covered by the case, the case bezels does not interfere with the touch operations when I used the phone which some cases do. The bottom of the phone the case is average in terms of case thickness, In my opinion this is because of how the phone has to be curved and creates some resistance
In summary the case met my expectations and has not failed me for over 6 months that I use this case, it saved my phone from drops and will continue to do the job for another 6 months, its slim to hold and fit in your pockets, its a trooper! The case is inexpensive and does the job better in terms of drop protection from scratches though not for huge drops, then a trident would do that fine. I am not a guy that goes out much and goes to college and this case is perfect for me, I recommend this case! :good:

Hard Cases: Anyone Have Luck?

So the clear plastic ones from ATT seem to be junk (plus they're clear).
The "carbon fiber" ones from Samsung were a letdown.
Anyone find anything decent yet? I must say this is one of the very few areas that the iPhone benefits from.
Anyone have experience with Pdair? They seem high ($28) but they might look promising. There are no pics of the Captivate Version of this yet but they come in black and silver aluminum, here's the iPhone version:

Honestly the PDair leather cases look alright but the metal cases look ridiculous to me and the clasp that keeps them shut looks pretty cheap. I say we need to petition for some Otterbox love! Otherwise I really haven't seen any hard cases out there.

They just released like the Droid Defender case like a year after release I would not hold my breath for them LOL
I'd like a leather case except that stupid flap would get in the way when I'm trying to use it.
And yea, I had the same thought about the metal case. I wonder if it FIRMLY snaps down or what... Was hoping someone would comment that has used them before.
i bought a case from ebay. its a pretty nice case and i luv it. since i cant post links so search "FUNKY STRIPES Phone Cover Hard Case Samsung Captivate" on ebay. you'll find it.

Hey please check out my post about what I have found out about the hard case situation for the Captivate!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=758778
I got a case from ebay, just searched "snap on case captivate" I got the black one that says it is rubberized in the description. The thing snaps on very securely and is very difficult to take off, so I think the protection is good. Access to all the physical do-dads like the usb gate are easily reachable. My only gripe is the notification bar is harder to access with the case on, but if I use the tip of my finger I can get it and I've gotten used to it but it still deserves mention. I'll post pics if you want but it is nothing spectacular. Cheap too, like $8 with free shipping and come in different colors. Looks like the same design as the carbon fiber one just not as much of an eye sore. What was the letdown with the carbon fiber one for you?
Looks like there's also a "carbon fiber" case that's different than Samsung's on Ebay now too, for $8.
For $8 if it snaps together well and is clean looking: it's better for me.
There's really four complaints to Samsung's:
1) Doesn't fit together SUPER well, but this isn't bad enough for me to return it on this point alone
2) When I bought it I thought it was clean, but I got a case with a Galaxy S logo on the back. Again not enough for me to return it on this point alone
3) Some of the rubberized coating was coming off
4) It's not really carbon fiber as it originally stated...

Alright, I'll go a head and get one and do a review on it.
I have the AT&T hard rubberized Body Glove case - but it looks like Body Glove has posted a hard shell snap-on case. Looks interesting with a removable belt clip that doubles as a kickstand (at least in portrait mode). Anyone tried it yet?
http://www.bodyglovemobile.com/prod...205034&ManufacturerId=1204552&ModelId=3529492
No but for $30 they can suck it. LOL
So for 12 bucks I got this case and a car charger. It definitely adds bulk, and this is probalbly moreso than most.
I had a couple thoughts today, thought I'd share them and see what people think. Perhaps even get the attention of someone that has the skill to implement some of these ideas.
First thought:
LED's don't really need much power, and if one was only used for a flash, you could power it off a watch sized battery for some time. Have they ever made cases for phones that have an LED that could be used as a camera flash in them? This could be a nice mod to any hard case out there. I for one do not have the skill to make anything like that, but would be very willing to pay for something like that.
Second thought:
A case with a modified back to allow a slide out keyboard. I'm thinking something like the following
http://www.adapt-mobile.com/multimedia/product/view/adapt_adk_100_micro_keyboard
but integrated into a case. I realize you would have to charge both the phone and the keyboard, but it could be an interesting project for someone that knows enough to do this.
Just some thoughts. If anyone knows how to do any of this, let me know. I'm aware i just described most of our missing features from the Epic, but I think using a case to overcome our missing features could be a big seller.
Those are the two reasons I almost switched over to Sprint for the Epic 4G.

Again, how is the phone going to communicate to the case?
I mean if you truly want something like this then you should really get a different phone (like the Epic). I personally don't like it because A) Sprint sucks here, and B) slide out keyboards add bulk and weight and thickness and C) I don't care about a flash.

I like and still use Swype for one reason: easy one-finger messages.
It's not highly accurate when you are moving quickly.
And two-finger "pecking" messaging (a'la iPhone) is still faster than Swype is.

Monaco Aluminum Hard Case Review(Kinda) * PLUS * My Home Brew Car Mount Thingy

So, I'd been looking for a decent hard case for a while, and just never found a deal on one that I liked enough to buy. Trolling around on eBay, I found this little guy, Monaco Case
It looked like too good a deal to be of real quality. But, I checked the item location, and s#!t, the guy's in my town, 10 min from home. So, I drove down to his store to check 'em out...
At the time, I wasn't able to find many up to date reviews for this case, so I'm hoping that this post will help at least one or two people make a decision on whether to purchase or not.
...turns out that they are actually pretty nice. The build quality is very good, the hinge feels solid and operates smoothly, the latch clasps easily and securely. It's not likely to be popping open at inopportune moments. I have since tested this, as the phone recently took a hard 5' fall onto a concrete warehouse floor, bounced a couple times, and came to rest, still closed, phone undamaged and case unscratched. The case is lined with a thin layer of neoprene, the phone fits in snuggly and will not be scratched by the aluminum shell. Overall I was pleasantly surprised by it, I ended up buying one for me and one for my buddy's Evo. Sorry about this grainy pic, taken with my girl's Hero. The others will be better, I promise.

The small shinny spots on the bottom of the case here are just reflections from the sunlight directly over head, not scratches, the cases finish quality is very good.
Access to the power and volume buttons is a little more difficult, but not a major problem. The kick stand still functions as intended, I use it plenty, and I feel that the camera is now well protected.
The case also comes with a little belt clip thingy that screws into the back of the case, cool idea... but, it was too cheesy for everyday use. I tossed it in the garbage when I got home. So, I set out to fab up a car mount to utilize the threaded bung on the back of the case. This is what I came up with. It's made from pieces of a cheesy adjustable car mount that I got at Radio Shack for $8 on clearance. I cut out the pieces I wanted, shaped, sanded and drilled until I was happy, then bolted it on.
Yeah, it adds a bit of bulk to an already bulky case, but that's not really an issue for me. I really need the protection this kind of case offers as I'm quite prone to damaging/destroying high end electronics. Thank god I have BB black tie protection as well, it's been well exploited . Also, there aren't really any off the shelf car mounts that will work with a hard case like this, so I had to come up with something.
I think it came out pretty nice, and it looks damn good in my truck. Using navigation is now worlds easier, plus I'm far less likely to run down a group of small children crossing the street whilst fumbling around, looking for my misplaced Evo.
The dash side of the mount is fairly adjustable via the ball & socket joint, it feels solid overall, and the phone slides on/off the mount easily without being sloppy. It's attached to the dash with a nice piece of double sided 3M tape that actually came with the original crappy car mount. It's quite strong and I don't feel like it will be failing anytime soon. And... a bonus for me, I ran the audio and charger cords straight into the dash, where they are hard wired into the truck, no more dangly cords for me.
Overall I'm really happy with how everything worked out. Even without the car mount, I feel like the aluminum case is a pretty good deal. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a solid protective case at a great price. I'm not sure exactly why these cases are so cheaply priced, but I think that they are well worth it.
I should mention that I'm in no way affiliated with the seller of these cases, and I have nothing to gain from the guy selling millions of them, although I'm sure he would love you for it. They are manufactured in China, which I'm sure has a lot to do with the price point. They're the exact same as the cases also being sold under the PDAir brand name. They can also be had in a shinny aluminum finish, for all the bling that some may require.
How much thickness would you say this case adds? I have been wanting to ditch my bodyglove shell case for a while and this seems like it might be the answer if it's not too thick and doesn't add too much weight to the Evo.
Thanks

The case adds .188" to the overall thickness. The phone goes from 1/2" thick, to 11/16" thick. It's not too bad, and it still slides in and out of my back pocket easily enough.

Yes, I super glued my piece in place to keep it from spinning around on the single bolt. I actually used epoxy rather than super glue, and it is holding great.
Sorry, but that is one ugly case
well i tried to order one and the guy sent it to an unconfirmed paypal address and I lost my money. I even emailed him after i did the buy it now to let him know my proper address because ive had issues with paypal associating the wrong address with my purchases. Needles to say, i am now disputing the purchase. So the case may be great but the ebay messaging system and this seller do not mix real well.

You do know that, regardless of what you email the seller, they can only ship to the address given to them by Paypal.
If you need to change things like shipping info, you need to make a note with your Paypal payment when you send it. There is a place for special notes like that. Also, if you are having trouble with Paypal giving the wrong info, you need to contact Paypal about that.
You can't be blaming the seller for shipping to the address Paypal gave them. They are not obligated to be checking emails before they ship items, that's why you always see notes at the bottom of product descriptions that read something like, please email in advance if you have any questions/concerns/special instructions.

Sounds like the seller sent it to an UNCONFIRMED address.
That's his bad.
if you don't know how to properly use ebay/paypal, then you should have called the seller and arranged a different form of purchase.
It is very easy to select which address you want things shipped to with paypal and ebay. And it isnt like they are going to send a different one to the seller than what you select, it is all handled by one script/program and it isn't able to send a different address, it just isn't technically possible.
And it is very possible for you to chose the unconfirmed address instead of the confirmed one if the seller allows shipping to unconfirmed addresses. But it is still 100% up to you to choose the correct one.

J/K I understand that some need a big strong case due to the line of work they are in or due to their hobbies, its all good.
No ****.
You can delete the bad address frim paypal and use a new one and confirm it.
If paypal is known for doing this tovyou then YOU need to fix it.
To the OP.....
I hope you realize that any type of metal case over your phone cqn and usually will greatly impede your signal.
Alum. Or any metal in a phone case where the antennas are under the shell is just stupid.
As sensative as gps is, that is going to be hurt too. Along with wifi.
I realise it thin metal but why would you want a metal rf reflective case.
Not only that but you are 100% guarented to scratch the living hell out of you phone where the mdtal edges touch the glass and sides of the case on the top of the phone.

I don't ship to unconfirmed addresses, ill ask the buyer where they want it shipped. I cant rely on PP. That i have confirmed.

Galaxy Nexus Rear Housing Replacement

I've started looking around the web to find places that sell the rear housing for the Galaxy Nexus i9250 (GSM version). I'm finding that the rear housing seems to be relatively cheap ($15-20). According to iFixit (step 6), the removal/installation of the rear housing is actually really easy.
Video tutorial (Thanks to snidrx). Rear housing removal is 1:19 - 1:33:

Necessary tools to replace rear housing can be found HERE for $3.50.

The i515 (Verizon version) rear housing can be found at the below place:

It's been confirmed by superlj in post #86 that the eBay seller cellphone_parts is selling a rear housing for the GSM Galaxy Nexus that is missing key features which make it unusable. BE AWARE!

No experience with any of these sellers but I have purchased parts from these guys and they are all good, sometimes you have to buy more than one though.. which isn't a problem as you can resell second on here or ebay

I saw this site as well. However, they do not sell to end users. They even require a federal tax ID as proof that you are not an individual just trying to repair your phone.

Hey guys,
My TPU case started causing some slight scuffing on the corners of the back housing on my Galaxy Nexus. I've looked on eBay and the rear housing seems to be relatively cheap ($43-46). And according to iFixit (step 6), the removal/installation of the rear housing is actually really easy.
So I was thinking about picking up a spare rear housing for whenever I decide to go without a case or switch to one that doesn't leave scuffs. I've always been pretty weary of eBay so I figured I would get your input. Does anyone have any experience with any of the below sellers, specifically with the Galaxy Nexus rear housing?

if you do replace it, id suggest protecting your next one with a skin... Skins go on the phone but they are thin enough to fit inside cases. my skin is a carbon fiber skinomi.. it prevents scuffs and scratches on the part your replacing. i had it on my phone before any cases touched the new phone.

It's the Black Cruzer TPU case. It's pretty soft. To be honest I'm not entirely sure how it's even causing the scuffing but considering the case has been on since 5 minutes after I took the phone out of the box, I'm positive it's the case.

Please keep me posted either in this thread or via PM when you get it. I am really curious to see if one of those ebay one fits perfectly. If so I will definitely pick a spare one up.
I dropped my SGN from a very short distance (maybe 2 feet) onto pavement, and it tumbled. The screen is fine, but all 4 corners have some sort of scratches.
I'm considering pulling the "hey VZW, my phone keeps rebooting on me, can I get a replacement?" maneuver, but if that DOESN'T work (or, if they say they'll be sending me a refurb - dunno why, but I HATE the idea of it having been owned by someone else - call me crazy), I'll gladly shell out the $45 for a replacement housing.
And if I'm looking at my phone correctly, there are not "your warranty is void once you jam a screwdriver through this sticker" sticker, like my Incredible had. Liking that a lot.
Keep me posted on what you end up doing.

I have a similar story to yours. I dropped mine about 3-4 feet onto asphalt and have scrapes on all four corners. Most aren't bad however the bottom of the phone is pretty beat up. The screen has no scratches miracuously. The only other problem I noticed is when the phone vibrates it sounds a little rough but oh well, everything else functions fine! I too wouldn't mind paying $45 for a new housing provided the installation was easy.

Only removing the digitizer is more work so it might be harder then it looks (they tear-down phones for a living and it doesn't cost them a dime if it goes wrong). But any way let us know how it went.

I ordered my SGN on my work account (a government line). I was talking to my sales rep today in normal everyday business, and calmly mentioned that my SGN was rebooting on it's own (it's not, really... but she doesn't know that), and she said "Oh really? Well, do you want me to ship you a new one?"
"Oh. I hadn't thought much about it, but... I wouldn't want it to become a big problem in the future... so... yeah, I guess that'd be nice."
Couldn't have scripted it better myself. She didn't say anything about it possibly being a refurb tho. Maybe I'll ask her about it tomorrow.

Haha Nice!
You are going through Verizon though. I've found that exchanging phones through your carrier is very simple. However, in my case I have the GSM model and T-Mobile won't help me out with it at all.
I'm not really looking for an exchange anyway. I love the phone and aside from the very tiny scuffs caused by the case it's 100% perfect. I just figured that since the rear housing replacements are only $45, if they fit perfect I might as well pick a spare up.

So you damaged your phone and you want to fraud your carrier? You sound like a real good guy.
You need to man up and take responsibility. If you want it fixed you need to pay for it. Or you should have put insurance on it. If you can't afford to fix it, put a $10 case on it and cover it up.

MoKo Slim Folding Cover Case - Review

EDITED FOR NEW IMFORMATION:
Ok the first of the new cases I ordered is here, and I thought I would give some sort of a review on it since I know good information about Nexus 2013 cases is at a premium right now. I am by no means a tech review professional so forgive me any mistakes or whatever, just giving my opinion so far. I will try to be as exhaustive as I can because I feel that too much information can't hurt anyone.
Here is the case.
The Good: Well made, fits tablet perfectly, looks nice, feels nice in hand.
The Bad: The stand on this device is horrible. If you decide you want a case that offers a well placed, functional stand for Netflix or reading, this is NOT the case for you. EDIT: Just realized that Smart Cover function is not very smart. See video below, but if you like this function this case may be a bad investment.
The Verdict = 3 Stars: As long as you don't require a stand that's particularly stable, easy to use or adjustable in any way, or like the smart-cover functionality, this device is nearly perfect in all other areas.
First Impression:
As I more or less expected, it came in a simple plastic bag with no name on it. With these early Chinese cases, this is normal I have found. Also noticed right away that the stamped in logo on the front reads "MOCO" not "MOKO". Actually it could just be a bad attempt at an English "K" but it certainly reads as "C". Not an issue for me, just something you notice right away. The case smells fine. Weird thing to say but this has been a problem with cheap Chinese cases in the past, where they smell like the toxic waste likely produced when making them. This one has very little smell at all, and not at all unpleasant.
Upon Further Review: As I began to look at the case, I will say that I was a little more impressed than I thought I would be. I ordered this case SOLELY because it was shipping soonest, and I had another case in mind for my daily driver. It won't be released till the 23rd. Installation of the device into the case was a breeze. I was pleasantly surprised to see a Velcro fastener in here. I had hoped for one but you couldn't tell on the pictures, so it was a nice find. Once I Velcro'd the case in there, I found the fit extremely satisfactory. The cutouts and openings are all flawlessly placed for maximum accessibility with max protection as a secondary goal. Exactly what you'd expect from a Slim case. The only possible gripe for some of you is that the headphone cutout is VERY close to the jack and if you have a fat headphone connector on your cans, they may not fit or may cause sideways pressure on the jack itself. It isn't a problem with either my Apple Earbuds or my Sennhieser cans, but I could see it as a potential issue for some, perhaps users of full-sized cans. The camera, for you douche bags who want take photos with your tablet, works fine while in the case. The girl i was with last night was kind enough to be my test subject an there was no sign of a blockage or other line-of-sight issue.

The feel of the case itself is that of plain ole Faux Leather. This Folio is VERY smooth, with literally no texture at all. Makes it fairly slippery compared to my old Blurex, but I don't see it as being "too" slippery to the point where you might drop it. I suppose if this can be an issue for you or your kids, another case might better suit you. The case forms a nice overlap of about half an inch all the way around the tablet, so the occasional short drop will very likely be survivable. A spill is another matter, however. As with all slim cases, it offers little in the way of protection from errant liquids.
The strap on the back and the, uh, totally NOT superfluous credit card holder, both work fine but in a barely useful sort of way. Honestly I'd say they serve no purpose at all except at the very least they do offer some minuscule amount of shock absorbency if you should drop the thing face down.
Finally I looked at the stand. I immediately wished I hadn't. Boy does this thing stink. It's very difficult to get the device into a standing position(impossible in portrait since this one is landscape only). Once there, it is not very stable. The bottom of the case, the part it rests upon while standing, has a bend in it(where the spine of the case is). This makes it extremely prone to tip over backwards. Especially while sitting it up to begin with. This process is neither user friendly or intuitive. Even after doing it several times and having a full understanding of it, it just never feels smooth. It feels awkward and rather annoying to prop it up every time. Below is a photo of the device froma side view so you can see what I mean.
After my last case, a BLUREX Magyc folio Case With Multi-Angle Stand I suppose I just expect a certain amount of ease when it comes to this, for it to require no thought and little effort to prop up my device. When I am working I am constantly closing my tablet then opening it again to read. Many, many times per day. Therefor this is a deal-breaker to me. For those of you who care less about the feature, or use it far less often, you may not mind it at all.
EDIT: NEW INFORMATION ABOUT THIS CASE. The smart-cover function barely works. I didn't notice this before because I hadn't really spent any time with the case. But now that I have, it rarely works to unlock my tablet. I don't know if the magnet is too weak, small or placed wrong. Being that this is a cheap Chinese case it may simply be that my particular case is made poorly, and others will not have this problem. Below is a video to show what I mean. I will be adjusting the device to 3 stars because of this.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sGNwF_G16s
I really don't know what else to say so I will just pot a couple more shots of the case and leave it at that.
Thanks for the review! I was just about ready to pull the trigger on this one, but now I will explore other options.

Exactly why I posted it. It's a fine case other than the stand issue. But for me that's the most important feature of a case. Good luck in your search and if Blurex posts a new Magyc case for our device, JUMP ON IT. They released a new case today, I got email about it. Just not the type I want. It's likely better than the one above, since it does not have a stand which bends under and back, but instead works almost like the one I am used to.
I think the stand is perfect.....not sure wtf you really talking bout there..

To each his own I suppose. Glad you are happy with the feature. I am not. Perhaps my unit is made wrong, or we just have different ideas about what constitutes a good stand. As long as you are happy, I'm happy for ya.

Well from your pictures you dont even have it tucked in all the way... But its completely stable and at a perfect cubicle desk viewing angle....
For 99 cents...what I paid, this may be the best case I have ever seen. Then again, I may just have lower expectations for 99 cents.

I am not considering the price in this review. The point of it is to help people determine if this case is a suitable daily driver for them. If you start adjusting value vs price point etc, this whole thing gets messy fast. I am only looking at the end result, which is the case you get. I'll leave it to others to decide if a case is worth more to them because it costs less, etc. I did in fact have it all the way tucked in when doing this review. Maybe not in the picture, but that fact has not made it any less annoying to prop it up compared to a case like my previous one. So i stand by my opinion, which is after all just my opinion and not a statement of fact. Others can read my review, and yours if you chose to make one, and decide for themselves

I suppose that is possible. Never heard of such a thing before. I will have to check into it. I've a new case coming in a day or 2, that will tell me. If it still does it with that case, I may return it.
I received a Poetic Slimbook case yesterday, which resembles the Moko the most (compared to other Chinese brands), and the sleep/wake function works very poorly. I think the case magnet is too weak. Its smaller than the magnets in the flap, plus it is buried under the elastic interior strap (more material between the magnet and sensor in tablet). After practicing opening and closing the flap for several minutes the tablet responds better, but still only 60-70% of the time.
I received this one and the slim one today {shipped august 12} from China to Canada. 14.xx$ for both, I have to say they are pretty well built for 7$ each {or 0.99$ each + shipping}

Correct, but keep in mind that the headphone jack on the Note 3 is on the opposite side so if the holder comes with that cutout, it will not lineup and you will have to modify the case.

I've been working out with my OPO since I got it about a month ago. Coming from a Galaxy S3 it's definitely taken some getting used to. Pulling it out of my pocket is still less than graceful when I wanna check email or change music. Just make sure your gym pants/shorts have deep enough pockets or anytime you're on the flat bench it'll be falling out of your pocket. Haven't tried running outside with it yet, don't think that's gonna happen. Probably stick to the treadmill cause I can put it in the cupholder and just use a different music player for running outside.

thanks sounds good.
I use the arkon XXL which is designed for phones that are built similarly to the Note 3, and the One fits very nice in it. I used one from this brand for my GS3 and I loved it, although I find that it gets uncomfortable after a little while unless I put it above my tshirt.

Looking forward to your feedback on the armband
I f*cking detest generic armband cases. You all know what I'm talking about. The ones made of neoprene (or whatever) and have the terrible bubbly plastic that covers the screen and makes it impossible to use the touchscreen with ease.
Take matters into your own hands and make your own case. I did, and you'll be glad you did too. The case I made is comfortable, rock solid, form fitting and most importantly, the screen is 100% unobstructed.
How? I bought a Cruzerlite case (I would've gone with a Diztronic case if they had shipped sooner), a generic velcro armband and some button snap fasteners (these are rust resistant).
The whole process is drop dead simple and took less than 30 minutes to construct. A quick note: be absolutely certain that you attach the male fastener to the case and the female fastener to the armband.
Just lay the armband across the back of the case and mark an outline of the band. Next, position the fasteners where you need them and mark the holes (two should work, but I did four for stability). Next, take a small drill bit and carefully drill the holes through the tpu case. Once this is done, insert the fastener and hammer it (on a concrete surface) with the included tool. Once you have all four done, move on to the armband. All four fasteners are going to attach very close to the outer edge of the armband. Decide where you want the case to sit on the armband (I wanted it very close to where the band doubled back). Because the band is elastic, you can just simply push the fastener (use some muscle) through the fabric. Get the first one in, hammer it and move on. Base the remaining three snaps off of this one.
Once you're done with that, you're good to go. Snap the case onto the armband, slip your phone in and get your sweat on. The beauty of this case is it fits perfectly, it isn't as huge as a generic case, you have full unobstructed access to the touchscreen and best of all, you can remove the band and wash it once it starts to smell like the inside of a cast.
Also, if you're wondering about the inside of the fasteners rubbing on the back of the phone during use, I've been using this for several weeks now (about 5 days per week) and the back of the phone is still flawless. The fasteners on the case are relatively flush, plus the very nature of the tpu case allows for some flexibility (which is why I chose tpu).
This is the end product:

Good idea on the self-made armband! I would be worried that the TPU case would give and drop the phone on the concrete!

I guess i worded it badly. I guess i should have asked how exactly is it that it's not scratching it. I didn't fully read it your right, but i still guess i don't see how it couldn't scratch it. Was a quickly worded post though.

No, it's rock solid. It pops in and the lip around the edge of the tpu case keeps the phone from moving around. It's actually comforting because the phone takes a bit of work to pry out when you're done working out.
I use it for weight lifting and running and it's been amazing so far. Best workout bands I've ever had by far.

It doesn't scratch it because the 1) the underside of the fasteners are smooth and sit relatively flush, and 2) because the case is tpu, when you slide the phone in, the back of the case flexes quite a bit to accommodate the fasteners.
I've used this for about 30 different workouts and there's not a single mark or scratch on the back.

A few words on the kwmobile Sports jogging armband (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2N58YCCQNSUNR)
For me the armband is useless.. I don't run, I lift weights.. I use jefit to keep track of rest time and sets, the problem is that when the phone is in the armband, and the armband is on my arm.. the touch sensitivity is so bad that I cannot wake the phone with double tap..
I think that if I just wanted to use my phone for music while running, it would be just fine (and the product does sell as a jogging armband so I guess I only have myself to blame) but for my needs, it is useless. (mind you I have not used this for jogging so I am only guessing that it would work)
I hope this helps, if you have any questions don't hold back
Have a nice day.

So the touch sensitivity is bad, but the how does the phone fit in it? Is everything ok? And does it stick to your arm without a problem?
I ordered the same one and it shipped yesterday.
I will use it for running and biking, so the touch issue is not really a problem for me since i have music controls on my headset.

Hi
Other than the touch issues I think the thing works great.. the phone fits in it nicely and the band stays put when on my arm. I think you will be happy with it since you are using your headset for controls.
