And there you go! You have your Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc rooted! In case you are facing any issues or want to thank the developer in person, then head to the official XDA thread posted here. All credits for this root goes to creators of Revolutionary along with DoomLord and everyone else who helped.

If your Xperia S is in a purchased state (ie, not modified at all and running stock firmware) I guess its bootloader will be locked. Anyways as Xperia S has got a dedicated forum section, head over there to learn about it more.
Hello friends, I am using Sony Xperia S LT26i with Jellybean 4.1.2 (6.2.B.1.96) with locked bootloader. Now I am interested to root my phone with LeOpArDx RoM V 4.8. I don't have any idea about rooting phone. So can any one help me !!! First of all I need to know what all files and software's are required for rooting my phone. And can anyone help me by explaining step by step instruction to root my phone... Please... Thanks in advance..

since you seem to be slightly new to this, i would HIGHLY reccomend you give someone that you know with greater experience to do this for you and show you since the steps are slightly tedious looking.

You tell us - http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/instructions, then you'll know how to proceed, if not you'll have to use the thread on the same page you've posted this on called - [GUIDE] Update to KitKat with locked bootloader & root
