I'm about to flash a new ROM and I already have an adequate backup for the one I'm on so I don't wanna lose space by making a new backup, is there anyway I could just backup the data and then restore that after restoring the ROM? Or should I just make an new backup and delete the old one?

Hey guys, it seems as though the backup through Clockwork recovery does not backup every single thing on the phone. Is there a way to backup the whole phone?

I use Titanium Backup to back up all the download apps and restore them after I flash a new ROM. Is it okay if I use TB to back up and restore system settings, call logs and SMS?
do not backup & restore system files.

Im always iffy when it comes to system data. You probably won't get an issue if its just sms and call logs but you might want to consider backing it up with an app

can you attach screenshot of backup/Restore page of titanium backup?
and have you check size of titanium backup folder?
Sir I also had taken a backup from Cwm recovery mode however as soon as I went to paranoid the restoration process showed no files present there.

You don't have any backup on device
Have you wiped device?
I think you have lost all backup when you have factory reset
It is advisable to make backup storage on ext sd card

Go to preference and then go backup location. Then click on detect and search whole device. Once located just Click on it and it will show up on the restore menu.. If you backed up on your external memory or internal memory without formatting it during the installation then it should be there.

My question is that how to restore nandroid backup on different OS just as restoring stock rom backup to cm7 rom, also just need to restore its "data" only.how to do?
I don't think you can restore another rom's data.
Isn't that why you have to wipe data and cache before flashing, to avoid failures?

If you are rooted with a custom recovery just make a nandroid before you install your new rom then you can restore your phone exactly as it was. To restore your data/apps back them up first with titanium backup then you can restore them after you install your new rom

Two best apps for restoring data are Titanium backup and Helium Backup.
1. Titanium backup: required root. Does all kind of backups.
2. Helium backup: required nonrooted and rooted phones. As it works with nonrooted phones, you can even backup after unrooting phone.
