I was wondering if anyone knew of a ROM that had a similar look and feel to the Galaxy Tab 3 Kids firmware? As I already have a Tab 3.
What s your exact type? Maybe you can directly flash the kids ROM?

have you done a full wipe before you flash the ROM.
Is your ROM root and has a cwm /tarp ?
Is your ROM stock without root , make a factory reset by settings,
than I think is the best flash a recovery cwm or tarp and root your tab by Odin.
make a backup by cwm and than flash the kids tab ROM with odin again.
I hope that was helpful.
Hi. Yes I try already still didn't work, back to stock for now , try again later. Thanks

You might want to try to replace the 2105 init*.rc with 210 init*.rc and just change the services started at boot. You can also try flashing stock ramdisk over the 2105 firmware, probably won't work but worth a try...
Thanks for tips, i try it tonight see how it go ..

Dsixda's kitchen. You just need to make a Working_whatever folder to be able to repack it. Otherwise you can only extract, but not repack it.

Hi GN users -
Rooted my phone this evening and all (I thought) was going well. I've been trying to do a backup via rom manager but when the phone reboots i get the android with a red exclamation point. This happens when trying to get to recovery mode using ROM manager or just using the volume buttons. Can't get a clean back up.
Used the following files:
recovery-clockwork-5.8.3.1-toroplus.img
Superuser-3.0.7.efghi-signed
Should I have used CWM-SuperSU-v0.87?
If i can access the boot loader can I go ahead and flash with CWM?
Thanks

So the problem is that you flashed custom recovery and when you reboot it reverts to stock recovery? If so it's because you're on the stock ROM and it's got a script that restores stock recovery upon reboot. You can either install a custom ROM or do this:
juliano_q said:
-remount /system in read/write mode (use something like the Root Explorer app or ES File Explorer; both have root modes (check the app's settings) for remounting /system as writable)
-rename the /system/recovery-from-boot.p to /system/recovery-from-boot.p-bak
(note: you could delete it, but renaming is much safer since its easily reversible)
yes, it is easier to use a script, but in my opinion it is much better to know what is going on behind it.

And I flashed the zips he posted when I rooted. I trust that Bigrushdog does know what he's doing but that zip seems to have a lot of things in there that he may or may not need. Like, why does it contain a boot.img? He only needs the SU binary to obtain root. His problem must be that he's rebooting. He should fastboot flash recovery, then fastboot reboot recovery and then flash the SU zip from there. And if he wants to stay on the stock ROM he should follow the instructions I posted. I'm not saying you're *wrong* but I am saying that I'm more right
EDIT: Rereading his post I'm pretty sure he does have root already, his problem is just that recovery isn't sticking which is a known issue with a known solution as I posted previously. Its the exact same thing on the Nexus S.
If anything we are equally correct and my method is much simpler. And yes the boot.img is required this is the stock kernel image without the recovery.sh that runs on the stock kernel. This will keep him from having to delete it manually. I know this because the same method was needed for my epic. You have to flash a tweaked stock kernel without the recovery.sh then flash the recovery. Then everything will stick. His issue is he didn't flash the tweaked kernel and upon booting the stock kernel deleted his custom recovery.

1) Download correct Clockworkmod (touch or regular as you wish) for your device from http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager
2) Place it at the root of your sdcard and rename it recovery.IMG
3) Download and install terminal emulator from the play store : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jackpal.androidterm&hl=en
4) Run the terminal and
type: su (press enter)
Then type: dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18 (press enter)
Don't mess up the command or you WILL brick your phone.
5) Enjoy your Clockworkmod.:victory:
Note: I don't take any credit for this.

Odin?
Wouldn't it be easier and safer to use the Odin program to load Clockworkmod? Less chance of bricking the phone?
The easiest way I've found is to root the phone via Odin, either with Chainfire's autoroot or Mr. Robinson's root 66. The results are pretty much the same but Chainfire's method won't wipe your phone.
After that install ROM manager from the play store and use that to flash CWM, or install Goo Manager from the play store and use that to flash TWRP.
Good write up and I'm not knocking you, but for noobs its better to use odin. Its a ton safer.
EDIT: I meant Odin, not fastboot. I work with a lot of devices and I forgot about it being a Samsung device. Oops.

the problem with using odin is that odin only lets you flash .tar files.... cwm for the att s3 comes as an .img and therefore odin doesn't want to flash it.
i found the easiest way is to root (follow steps in this thread), install MOBILE odin pro (tpb?), and flash the recovery.img through mobile odin pro.
There's a tar file for cwm around here somewhere
not in that post there isn't. the only tar files there are twrp recovery, and the stock recovery...

Yea, in the zip file the IMG of cwm and twrp are old but I downloaded newest then put both on internal SD. Works gr8t. Make sure that they are separate and if you have to rename the img file
Cwm: name to touch.img ( if its the touch img, idk what to name non touch, I don't use)
Twrp: name as twrp.img
After that should work, that's how I put the latest twrp on my phone.
Edit: I need to learn to check things b4 I speak lol!! I used it to install twrp 2.4.2.0 Sorry about that didn't mean to intentionally mislead anyone. Should still work. If you are flashing first time
you want the *.tar file
so you can use Odin to flash the recovery

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701638
Does it work on 4.4.2 ?
i dont know, if u changed anything, but ur Version is the latest from... 03.03.2104 (6.19.7)
Newest is from 31.03.2013 (6.25.4)
Or is there a different from urs and Philz_Touch_Advanced_Version?
Easiest way, check Goo.im Link from philz touch!!!

Will this work in 4.4.2? I just rooted my phone and installed Autorec to have TWRP but i prefer Philz. can i use this?
I'm currently using TWRP 2.6.3.4, if I want to change it to Philz, do I just need to flash the zip? Because some people said they got an error and can't boot into their recovery anymore.. :/

"flashable" zip as in the OP means u have to flash via your current recovery, I guess (of course if you are rooted and installed a custom recovery).
Does anybody have a mirror? I can't download the recovery since I get server problems...
This is noto the mirror.
This is tge officiale repo.
