I have been lloking for a way to move my app data from internal to external card as i enjoy playing hd games which commonly is 1.5 gb and in few games only the internal storage get fileed up.
So i have found a perfect way for moving large game datas to external card on my zl.
Note- Tried it on xperia zl stock rom (deodex) & Existenz rom. Don't Know about other roms
So please try it on your own as i am not responsible if anything goes wrong.
Method-
1. First Install a remount reboot fix using this link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317432
2. After successfully completing the fix. Install The following app from play store . https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devasque.fmount
After Completing the above method in foldermount app choose the app analyzer option and move the apps in sd card.
Important - After moving the app data go to the application agagin and click on the pin in front of the app.
Please note it is not my work and found it on internet after a long time so just want to share.
Please click on thanks if helped in anyway.

Not all apps installs do internal memory. Some end up at the SD by default and many of those that installs to the internal can be moved to the SD.
A tiny part will be left on the internal memory but this really should not be an issue for you. You can have tons of apps.
Use the phone as u want and see where u end up at
Also "the tiny part which will be left on the ROM" will have around 1MB
i'm looking on this matter now, so i'm waiting to root my phone and clear some unused application, to clear my ROM
so how can we move apps on sd card

is there any software app who can move every thing to sd card then please tell
thank for your time sharing with this post..........
It's prossible to do a 'full' apps2sd if you have a rooted phone and a specially partitioned SD card, but i havent tried it on the arc so dunno if it will actually work.
I dont know why you really need to do this though. The root method i mention above was popular before 2.2 added built in apps2sd, particularly on older phones with small amounts of internal storage, but since android 2.2 there really isnt much point. I've got *tons* of apps installed on my arc, and still have more than half the space left.
There doesnt appear to be a massive thread describing how to get full apps2sd working for a rooted arc, the reason for this is because nobody really needs it. What are you trying to do that needs this?
be careful some apps wont work when their on your sd that why you can't move them.
for example don't move your launcher app ( when using one ) and don't move apps if you use a widget from the app ( or the app is a used widget )

I had the same issue as the OP..
I had install many apps, and then there is warning that my memory is low
I already installed app2sd and moved some apps to sd, but not all apps can be moved.
Is it possible to use an EXT partition on sd as an internal memory?
This trick is common in HD2 world (when using NANDROID).
I havent tried it with my Arc because it is unrooted.
If anyone has tried it, please share it with us
Thanks and cheers ...
I place all my apps too the internal storage. It's easy and there is enough space on the phone
good morning

Have you tried a app called Link2SD: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5idWFrLkxpbmsyU0QiXQ.. you need to partition your card with this :http://download.cnet.com/MiniTool-Partition-Wizard-Home-Edition/3000-2094_4-10962200.html it is a free tool:good:You can link your apps to SD card and can even link apps with widgets:good:I have 150+ apps installed and still have loads of free space. You can also uninstall apps freeze apps and even use the traditional way to move apps
If you use the link above to partition your SD card you could also format the card at the same time and this might help with any other problems you have been having with it (DON'T FORGET TO BACKUP YOUR SD CARD IT WILL WIPE IT) hope that helps
thank you i will try this method :good:
good day to all
can someone help me?
i have a tab 7.0, rooted, and im using the costom rom rocket tab v2.0
my tab is only 8gb, i have to many apps in the internal storage
now, i want to move them to sd card so i go to application manager and select an application and tap the move to sd card
but the problem is, a window appering "Unable to move app. Not enought storage space" even though my SD card has a huge space
i try using the app. link2SD, but here is the message appear when i try to move it to sd card:
"App2SD is not supported by your device. Because your device has a primary external storage which is emulated from the internal storage. You can link the app in order to move it's files to your SD card."
i understand what it means, but the problem is, how can i make my primary external storage to original internal storage? is there anyway for that? so that my sd card can be the external storage?
or any way arround to install from my sd card?
I use RomToolbox Pro on all my android devices to move apps to my sd card. There's a utility called configure apps to sd, that helps to direct apps to install on the external sd. There is also a utility called root browser within rom toolbox pro where you can simply move files from your internal to external sd card. It does take a little while to figure out but it does work well in my experience. There is also the app manager, in rom toolbox, where you can move them one at a time. The only thing I would say as a word of caution is first make a backup, then start tweaking, and remember that when some apps are moved to the external sd they will lose their widget capabilities.
I'm probably leaving out some of the finer points, but hopefully you get the idea and it helps you.

I will be trying this. I was told by Samsung that 4.2.2 would let us do that but if this works I can keep my current install.

Android 4.2.2 jellybean stock unrooted:
My son loves the gameloft iron man game. With this phone I can move the app (45mb) to external SD card. But the data for the game (1GB+) stays on the phones sd card (STORAGE/SDCARD0/ANDROID/OBB). And if I try to manually move the game data to (STORAGE/EXTSDCARD/ANDROID/OBB) it does not recognize it. Why would it give us the option to move the app to external sd card, but not also move it's data (often being the largest part of the app). Doesn't that defeat the purpose of this feature?
Same issue with co-pilot gps app; I can move the app but not the 1GB of map data.
Do I need to change a file somehow to make the system look at the external sd card instead of the phone sd card for its data?
BACKGROUND:
I love Android 4.2.2 jellybean on this phone (I'm stock; unrooted).
And I loved when I saw that you could once again move apps to the external SD card. (It took me back to the days on Android gingerbread 2.3.4 when I could save all my phone memory and put almost all my apps on my SD card.)
But I found out that although you can move the app, any data for those apps remains on the phone sd card.
See 2 examples above.
Use folder mount its easy setup. It "redirect" any sdcard/folder to the extsdcard/foder

I need a means that does not require root.
Why would it allow me to move the app without root; but require root to move the data.
This seems like a Samsung flaw, or an Android 4.2.2. flaw.
Does kitkat move apps and their data to external sd card?

This is an Android thing bro. KitKat would be the same. There's few app that can do the job, but most (if not all) requires root.
I could agree that it was just an android thing if it didn't let you move apps at all (like ICS wouldn't). But it does let you move apps now without root, just not the data. Anyone else?

I recently filled up my internal storage and have put a new 64gb sd card in my TAB S. Now I have figured out how to move apps already installed on my device to the SD Card through the app manager. Is there a way to install apps right off the bat to the SD card or do I have to first install them to my device and then move them over?
I have the same question-
But i m not able to move app also, do we have a fix?
Few gb's game lead to no storage space available - how to fix this guys.
Root, install SDfix for R/W permission and FolderMount or Link2SD to transfer files, data etc to the SD card.
It's kind of convoluted. I read you could use adb to set default location to external sd. Sounds great except it doesn't work. I'm using folder mount right now. It's a bit tedious because you install your app on internal first, then move any large obb to external. I tried link2sd but had trouble with partitioning the card. I'll give it a shot some other time.
I don't know why you just can't like sym link /sdcard0 to /sdcard1 and be done with it.

I had the same issue before., Rooted the device and install custom ROM which did not solve the issue as I wanted. Installed the Kalikazoo above and another KitKat External app from the Play Store and then I was able to use the Apps2SD for most of my apps. After using these, I was able to use the External SD as I had planned. My big issue was Apps Backup & Restore which is my backup to Titanium Backup if any of the ones I want fail. Since all of these take a lot of space the external SD is a MUST. I have it am I am a happy camper because of it. Shame on Samsung for limiting our use of that external slot right out of the box.
