Yes it does. This only replaces the audio libs and adds Apollo and DSP Manager. There isn't much changed in audio libs from 4.3 to 4.4
can you upload to another miror ?? i cant download idm says request timed out !
Thanks!
Thanks!!! This definitely fixed my DSP.... The thing is, I don't use Apollo, would it be possible to package a flashable zip with DSP only? Either way thanks again!

I will second this. Better, louder sound for anything (games, alarms, etc). Like mjh, I don't use Apollo, or other music players for that matter, but being able to hear the rest of the sound this beast can make would be a God-send.

I don't use Apollo either, but having DSP makes all of the difference, so it doesn't matter. It also works on my Nexus 7 2013 with Kit Kat.
Can I use root explorer to change the files? Because my N4 is rooted but I did not install custom recovery.
I use stock ROM.

I'm also rooted and with stock recovery.
Yes, you can do it manually.
If I can suggest a faster way in case android sdk is already set-up.
Just copy zip on phone.
Then issue a command:
adb reboot-bootloader
wait until in bootloader, then temporarily boot cwm recovery (or any other of your choice)
fastboot -c "lge.kcal=0|0|0|x" boot recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.3.5-mako.img
Now, instal zip file and reboot.
Note: recovery must be where fastboot program is before issuing command.
On Mac OS X, it should go like this:
Code:
096-87-17:platform-tools vr5411$ ./adb reboot-bootloader
096-87-17:platform-tools vr5411$ ./fastboot -c "lge.kcal=0|0|0|x" boot recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.3.5-mako.img
downloading 'boot.img'...
OKAY [ 0.476s]
booting...
OKAY [ 0.022s]
finished. total time: 0.498s
Thanks! Just saw the DSP only

hey guys iam verry happy with this DSP.Its the best DSP plugin what ever i used in my whole smartphone world and i am started by win mobile ^^
The sound is verry verry fantastic !Deep and smouth bass booster. Its so good when you listening old Alben without good dynamik, like a-ha or depeche mode.
The Treble was absolut clear an no aggressiv.
But for all power amp useres, make shure that you dont have "direct control" activate.so the DSP doesnt work !You can find it in settings-audio engine-advanced tweaks.
thanks and good night ;-)

You can try Google Music, basically any music app that uses Android's standard audio framework. For example, PlayerPro will not work as it has its own framework and DSP.

I installed this, wiped caches and fixed permissions. However, when I boot up the phone and go into sound settings, I do not see the option to change the equalizer to DSP Manager. I know this option is there with CM10.1. Am I missing something?
Also, I should mention I'm on Stock de-odexed.

I'm on Sinless 3.1 (4.3). Nova does have an option to display all apps but DSP still doesn't appear. In the attached screenshot you can see the "All" app list. No DSP either. But I can select it in sound settings.
On 4.2.2 I had a working DSP manager. I dirty flashed to 4.3. Everything else is working properly. But the 4.2.2 DSP manager came with some additional libraries. Maybe the remains are interfering with the 4.3 version.
On the other hand.... I always had to reflash DSP after ROM upgrades.

This has been a past issue when it comes to HTC.
Your Rom must be a pure Vanilla AOSP.
Lib files in system>libs>soundfx folder has to be deleted. You can disable or unistall the other sound fx you got in your rom.
Check this out : http://android.appstorm.net/how-to/music/install-and-configure-dsp-manager-on-any-rom/
And if you want to revert back you can simply dirty flash your rom.
