Thought I would throw this up here. I picked this up today, its really well made, fits the gnex perfectly. normally 35 bucks, its 10 dollars off, and the source has a 30% off sale this weekend (feb 25/26th) making it 18 with tax. Cheers.

I have been looking for a nice car mount. Might have to check this out. Does it have enough room to accommodate the phone with an otterbox case on?

Yes! I have an otterbox defender and on the largest setting it fits very nicely.

stockerx,
Can you please post the item # or some distinguishing part # of your igrip traveler so I can try to purchase it through a different company? Is it T1-1203?
Thanks
if you cant find the igrip try arkon mounts, they are very good and is similiar the the igrip in looks and price. i have one that i bought for my tilt 2 and it still works great although i did move to the clingo which is a little more low profile.
LOL @ "draconian rules"
Ok, I changed the title, and posted the id number of the mount. (1713395) also, the sale of $10 off is on until the 29th of Feb. FYI. But the employee pricing is likely over at this point. sorry. Hope some people managed to get it.

These look similar to cheaper eBay universal mounts. Better, same or worse?
I picked one up at the store where I work. The round thing that holds the vzw car dock together also fits in this thing. Pain in the butt to disassemble the igrip, though. Have to saw or use a pair of pliers to break the neck of it...long story short, my hands are killing me, but I have that nifty igrip mount on the Samsung/VZW dock's neck.

I bought a portable minidisc player in 1996 from Japan since they weren't released where i live.
I found an email adress to a japanese dude somewhere in a personal minidisc information site in japaneese and asked him if he could buy one and ship to me.
"Sure!" he said and i wired all the money directly to his bank account.
A couple of weeks later it arrived, perfectly packed and everything in order.
The "online" in this story is the emailing part i guess, but there werent much other options to online purchases back then.

Hey all,
a few days ago my galaxy nexus has fallen onto the ground and the display broke. So currently, I cannot use the smartphone anymore, as the display does not turn on and also the touch ability seems also to be broken. However, I can enter fastboot mode so I would be able to flash some stuff, like another OS. As I bought a new Nexus 5, I do not really need the old galaxy nexus anymore (even if it was a nice smarthone).
But, I would really be sad if I must throw it away because it is a really powerful device and every other unit (WLAN, processor and so on) seem to work. So, now I have the question if I could use in alternatively, e.g., flashing some linux on it and use it as mail server or media box. The idea came up because I wanted to buy a raspberry pi and then I thought: Hey, the galaxy nexus is much more powerful and the raspberry pi also does not have any screen.
Would this be possible? Use the galaxy nexus like a raspberry pi?
So, I'm looking on some nice alternative ways of using the phone and perhaps also some references on how to do it.
Greets,
mister-viper
I'd change the screen and sell it...
Alternatively, you can also buy an MHL cable and use it as TV media player, using a BT mouse/keyboard.

Anyone satisfied with a G4 battery purchase in Europe?
Been reading the battery threads here in xda, seems you can get some good batteries but only in the US.
Getting a non fake battery is not as easy as it seems, so, is there anyone who got a good battery (via e-shopping, eBay preferably) in Europe? By good I mean either true original or performing at least like the stock one.
If you go to My Thread look at the bottom of First Post and I have listed Batteries there
I have bougth this one on aliexpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/0.html?orderId=82125088041602&productId=32664650213
I am from austria and had it in 2 weeks. Batter works really good.

Yes, your thread is well known, but there's one more thing I should have mentioned: I have the black leather back which I love and don't want to change.
So that rules out most of the batteries in that thread since they need custom covers.
The few that are labeled slim do not ship to Europe (links from the 1st post, don't know if there's more links later in the thread which is quite big)
Thanks anyway.

Hmm sad they don't ship there. How much you think it'd cost to ship?
A few cases I've seen with batteries that are already available in both Europe and US (mostly fake ones typically marked as original in bulk form) the shipping varies from $10 onwards.
Maybe I would pay that shipping cost for a battery like the TQTHL for which many say is very good, but the problem is noone ships to Europe.

Wow thanks man, but what if the battery is problematic or something? I mean, I would have to send it back to you, effectively paying shipping back and forth, which would probably cost me more than the battery itself, and that is IF you would invest the time in such a situation.
For now I just thank you for your gesture. I will search a bit more, and if I find nothing promising maybe I'll ask you if you would still do it. In any case thank you!

Seems to be original, if you need it.
Yes it seems so (as one reviewer also says), but reviews after some time after purchase would be good. The net is full of 'original' batteries and people reviewing them the day they bought them, yet I still strive to find a battery I won't be returning as totally useless even for other phones of mine.
I am starting to think it's some kind of worldwide quality cells shortage ?

That's a good I idea cause I seem to get 2HRs more of SOT with my default batteries.
I got mine from https://batterionline.no/batteri-til-bl-a-lg-g4-originalt
They have 12 moths guarantee and insurance for malfunctioning batteries (they actually takes responsibility if your device is broken from one of their batteries)
Might be Norway only tho
I never considerd the origins of the battery made any difference. I use this and I'm happy with it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/3800mAh-Ers...Mbuynow-Neu-/272619540846?hash=item3f7964116e

It's not the origin, it's the destination. What good is a battery that the seller won't ship to the potential buyer's country?
Thanks for the feedback.
How long have you been using this battery? Does it last the same as the original when it was new ?

Hi all,
I've currently have a 2 year old PX5 with HUGE USB problems. It's driving me crazy. So because there's zero support from the buyer, and I can't find a solution anywhere on the internet, I thought I might look for a new one and get rid of mine.
I found these two:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Ido...pm=a2g0s.13010208.99999999.259.70483c00BVxTNn
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/7-A...pm=a2g0s.13010208.99999999.265.70483c00BVxTNn
Both no idea what the actual make is, but they seem good! The chips onboard differ a little, but I believe the "Idoing" has the best papers, right? I've done some searching and the other one also seems to be good. I'm afraid they both have the crappy USB chip, but can't find a seller that knows which one it has, so that's a little gamble.
The cheaper one ships from Europe, so no hassle with customs, so no extra price. The more expensive one comes from China, and big chance there's an extra fee (my current one also had a 50 dollar customs fee). So the higher price plus chance of customs on top makes it a higher risk.
Is the PX5 still a good buy? I couldn't find any regular PX6 units. Only BMW and Mercedes framed crappy ones.
The new PX5 with 4GB ram is an improvement anyway. I assume it's fine to put Malaysk or Hal9k ROM on it? I have no idea which make they actually are like I said.
Thanks in advance!
Edit: Another cheap one, seems the same as the other cheap one? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4G-...pm=a2g0s.13010208.99999999.259.103b3c005GUtjb
I suggest you wait a little longer.. PX6 is coming out soon. In fact, I am also waiting to jump from PX3 once PX6 is available everywhere (and OS is stable).
There are speculation that Pie is also in the works, but who knows when it will be available..

Thanks. I've read before that PX6 is coming, but that has been said for months now, and the question is what the benefit is. Same goes to Android 9. Sure, Android 8 was nice to have after Android 6, but it doesn't really matter IMO for daily use. Not trying to be negative, but not having Android 9 isn't a show-stopper for me. Is it known what the PX6 does better? Is it just faster? Because my PX5 runs smoothly with most things, so I don't really need more performance.
The Dasaita looks nice. Are those good chips and parts? Don't want bad parts like I have now again.
How do those physical buttons work? Can you assign them to do whatever you want? (mostly the nav button). Also do they also have HU's with both a nav and radio button? Would love to swap quickly between navigation and DAB+ quickly with a single button click. Right now I have to the home button on the screen, and then look for the app and click that, and the same if I want to go back to navigation.

I have done that, hence my question. Care to elaborate, or are you just here to make a non-supporting post?
You can use your current px5 CPU and change only the mainboard. (To solve your USB problems...if they are hardware related)...
Or just search for an update of your current mcu if solves the issue
Dasaita sells mainboard for just 30usd

Cool, that sounds promising. So I should be able to take of the SoM and place it over to the new mainboard? Are they compatible? I'll look for them, do they sell them on Ali Express?
I could try a MCU update, but I'm already on a recent version that worked fine without any changes, but it's worth a shot. Thanks.
edit: Could you point me in the right direction? I can only find SoM upgrades, and not the motherboard/mainboard.

Hoi,
Hi,
Hollander? just buy a new and a better head unit to avoid so much trouble instead of regretting the hassle of m.b etc.. friendly advice.. from.. old mate.
So I would like to ask again here. I've bought a PX5 Hizpo, seems to be fine, but I want to tweak with the MCU and ROM (the Witson one looks cool), but it appears it's not a MTCD/E. Really useless...!
So what cheap MTCD/E PX5 can I buy that's good? I want at least the volume knob that you can rotate, and a NAVI/FM or BAND button because that's nice and easy for me because I don't have steering wheel controls. I right now have this one that was for 155 euro on the 11.11 sale: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32866098436.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.5a544c4duIhIdK
I'd like to buy something new and sell this second hand for black friday.

Thanks, I've been looking at the Max 6 with the new PX6. But I've heard something about a static noise?
Maybe I can sell my crappy Hizpo for 160 euro and get a REAL MTCE unit for 270. Still a lot of money for the same kind of device, but I'll just hope the build quality is better.

Cheers. I've actually contacted Dasaita and they told me they fixed the noise issue.
So I'm wondering, how do you notice the better build quality in a unit like this? Does it have a form of cooling (either active or passive)? Both my PX5 units don't have ANY type of cooling and they're melting during the summer. I've put in a few heatsinks on my previous PX5 and added a 80mm fan, and that really helped a lot.
