SMS texts from email have random 3-5 digit Froms - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Noticed that all (but one) email to SMS texts I get have what appears to be random 3 to 5 digit numbers for the from instead of the actual email address it came from.
Even messages from the same email address (monitoring site for example) arrive with different ID's which makes them all look like different senders.
I have one that works, but have not been able to figure how or what they are doing to make it work. I've tried generating messages myself using all kinds of header adjustments and can't duplicate what or how they are making it work.
The result is and I have different inboxs for every email to SMS message I get regardless of the source instead of just a few inboxes with the same types of messages in them.

Example:
Below are 4 text messages. the bottom two are from the same from address. The 2nd one is from the one that works but I can't figure out what they are doing to make it work. And the top is from Amazon... which does the same thing. Each message from them (from the same address) ends up looking like some random from name.
On my previous phone this didn't happen. email to sms always showed the email address of the sender.

photo dail on HTC Home Plugin

Hi all,
I've got the HTC Home Plugin up and running now, and would like to make 1 change if possible...
Can the favorite-contacts tab be changed to use photo's instead of just the names?
to clarify: I'd like the tab to look something like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I don't understand your question. HTC Home Plugin's Favorite tab should work the same way as you described. Tapping an empty box should pop up Contacts app from where you can choose whom to display among Favorites.
So, the problem can be
1. You chose persons from Contacts who has no photo attached. In this case the plugin can show the name only.
2. Your installed Home Plugin is buggy - if so, try another one; there are a lot avaible in the forum.
Good luck!
Yes you canĀ“t specify the photo in HTC Home - you have to do this via pocket outlook contacts. than htc home should use the photos instead of the name
You're correct! Very sorry to have posted this, I thought I saved a photo with a certain contact, but apparently that went wrong. I assigned the photo to the contact again, and now it shows the photo!

[Q] Text message pictures not always showing up or downloading?

So only about 1/3 of my mms pictures come through actually as texts with the image in it.
The rest look like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And they never finish downloading.
Or they look like this:
Hitting the play button will bring me to a strange 5 or 10 second "video" at the end of which the picture actually shows up. That looks like this:
Anyone know how to get all pictures to just show up like the text with the puppy or at least get the first type to actually finish downloading? Does this happen to everyone?
I'm running google voice for my regular non-picture text messaging. I'm not sure if that makes a difference. Also running calk's rom version 1.5.
edit: all 3 of those picture messages are from the same person using an iphone 4.
Let's just blame the iPhone?
Seriously though, try a different messaging app. Go sms or chomp. If you encounter the same issues, reply back to this thread
Sent from the future.
I'd love to just blame the iphone. Unfortunately too many of my friends use it for me to just ignore it though.
Anyways I'm trying out chomp, and I made it an ics -like theme which I like better than the Samsung look. I'd still like to figure out what's going on with the pictures though.
Thanks.

T-Mobile Pre-order. Lost order # in text messages.

Last night I installed the latest CM11 M8 on my Nexus 5. However, I failed to realize that this would obviously erase my text messages from T-Mobile which provided me with my order number for the pre-order of the G3 I placed with them. I've tried digging around in my online T-Mobile account and can't find anything with my order number or confirmation of purchase.
Is there another way to obtain this order number?
1st EDIT: I found it. If you also misplaced your order number from the text messages, login to your account and navigate to "View Account Activity" and you should see a line that says "Order Placed". Click on the plus sign next tot hat and your order number is listed. However, it keeps disappearing every time you try to copy it. The workaround I found is to click the plus sign so the pop up opens then take a screenshot of the order number.
2nd EDIT: Of course I'm still getting the below error message even though I've ensured the order number and zip code are accurate 3 times...

}
Between this and the completely useless CSR's T-Mobile sure is making getting an update on our pre-order status quite annoying.

New issue - No MMS when on wifi

Nexus 5X, Android 7.0, Rooted, Verizon
This seems a very new issue for me. When I am home within range of WiFi I am not able to send or receive MMS message (using stock messenger app). I do receive the text portion of the message, just not the MMS "attachment".
If I turn off WiFi, or drive away out of range, the messages will send/arrive.
I dinked with APN settings, but get a message to the effect, "These settings not available to this user."
Any suggestions to correct this issues?
its not an issue, normally for MMS your have to use a cellular to send it.

Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Wat? Did you even test your silly theory before stating it? Because you are so wrong.
This function depends on your mobile carrier. There is nothing wrong with your phone about this problem. Anyway mms is dinosaur who must die.
Probally you can try to activate the "Cellular Data always active" within the developer options -> Networking..looks like this....can you give feedback if this works?

Thor, no luck using the dev settings. Thanks for the suggestion.

Question How to unmute sms message thread after is muted from google messages, seems Xioami blocked unmute option

How to unmute sms message thread after is muted from google messages, seems Xioami blocked unmute option
"Xioami 11 lite 5g ne google messages",
if you mute custom SMS conversation there is no unmute option, only solution is to delete complete conversation from the muted correspondent.
You can find muted conversations in notifications settings. I gave example I made one custom SMS muted thread and there is no way to remove them from the list.

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Only the solution is to delete all SMS conversations from that specific correspondent completely, close the google messages, and after opening it again, muted conversation from that user will be removed from the notification list shown on the picture.
It's a nasty BUG, and as I saw, it's present on all phones in the 11 series on MUI 12 and MUI 13.
I tried this on google pixel phones and on few One android phones with google messages and seems this is something present only on Xiaomi phones.
