Hi guys,
----HISTORY :
Well, my front camera just stop work some months ago, I did a lot of tests and searches about it and I found that it may be due to a broken front camera (wow!), anyway, a hardware issue. I tried clean it, I guess I cleaned for, I don't know, next to 20 times, and yes, I used the alcohol that the people said to use.
----WHAT I'VE TRIED :silly:
So I was trying to get the native camera app works, what I found is that its needs both camera working to open, if one of those doesn't works, the app closes by itself, I downloaded some apps that just requires the rear camera and it works as well the Focal, but I didn't like it.
----WHAT I'M TRYING TO DO
Okay, so I thought that the app might works if I do something to the system to tell that actually, a front camera doesn't exists! And be just like one of those really cheap phones.
----WHAT I NEED HELP
I've deleted front camera permission at /etc/permissions/, this was the only place that I've found something about, I readed the build.prop for times and I didn't found anything to fix it, and I now I'm here, asking you guys, if some of you knows where I can edit to get the native camera (I like photosphere and all those stuff).
And yes, I've already ordered a new front camera but it will take a looooong time to come, like three months.
Some help? :/

Hello all, i am new here and i do not know if this is the right place to be posting this, so if not please move it, and send me a PM to where it has been moved.
So i have a bug with my T mobile Dash. After i upgraded it to WM6, the camera colors have been messed up! i have also installed Excalibur WM6.1 ROM by Kavana and that did not change my camera problem either (although i must say it is an excellent piece work!) would any one know how to fix my problem? or if i need to reinstall my camera program, how can i do that?
Thank you all for you time
-Sean
bump .................
Heat?
I was wondering if you have let the phone be placed near a heat source? Also have you actually just tried cleaning the lens of the camera itself? The camera program and the drivers are reinstalled each time that you have flashed the ROM on the phone. It can only be a hardware problem if you are experiencing this problem throughout successive installations of different ROM's, AFAIK then this can only be attributed to the hardware. I suggest cleaning the lens however just in case there is a clear buildup of something on the lens. Otherwise someone wiser than I needs to help you out.
sorry for the late reply, was out of the country, but it is different because the colours look so different you can see that the camera is working. but it seems like soemthing has toggled with my camera files when i updated to wm 6
Do you have to have OMAP turned on to a different CPU rate?
where can i see that?
Start->All Programs->Accessories
Make sure OmapClock is set to a lower then 150 or disabled.
A more powerful battery very much helps also.
*I have a script that if Camera or Video option is picked it defaults OmapClock.
Mortscript program is needed.
*Credit is given to Bupahs.
Hello all!
So I've installed CyanogenMod 6.1 RC1 and it's amazing. But it seems that when I run Vignette (which is a fantastic camera app btw) the viewfinder is messed up.
The bottom half of the screen is completely black, while the top half is stretched and distorted.
I reflashed the stock rom and everything was fine. It just doesn't seem to work properly in CyanogenMod.
Has anyone else had this issue? Any idea on how to fix it?

I've got the same issue and since Vignette is my favorite Camera App. i'm sort of bummed out. I'm not sure if there's a fix but that's something Cyanogen will have to look into.
Besides the bottom half of the screen being black, you can still take pictures and they turn out just fine.
Whoa, I'm upset now. I was using Vignette earlier (and I agree, *great* camera app) and it didn't have this problem, but now when I open it I see this problem occurring. What happened I wonder... It'd be great if someone could figure out a way to fix this.

I've got a fix!!! (sort of)
I emailed the developers and one of them responded back to me. She sent me a test build that fixed the issue completely. I suggest emailing the developer to see if she'll send it to you, as well. Good luck! (it's worth it, this version is pretty badass)
Hi everyone! This is my first post here so I hope I'm doing this right. I'm not sure if this should be here in Q&A or in the App section but here goes.
I really love my Epic 4G. Up until a couple of weeks ago, I was still running Dk28 with midNIGHT rom 3.1. Then I finally switched over to the wonderful CM9 Beta1. I am loving it so far, but there's one thing that bothers me. The camera.
One of the things I used to use on the camera very frequently was the panorama/wide shot function. I really hate the sweep panorama of the ICS camera because with the crafts I make, it's just horrible and it's always distorted because sweeping and me don't get along. The camera that was on my leaked Froyo had the feature where I would click the first picture, and while moving to the side a green box would guide me and then automatically take the next shot when it lined up, then I'd move again and it would take the next shot. It would then put the images together for me.
I really need that feature back. Is there a way that I can install that camera app back onto my phone in addition to the updated ICS camera? I really like the smoothness and speed of the ICS camera for normal picture taking.
I can pull the camera.apk from my original install, but as I said, I don't want to overwrite the ICS one, which I fear because they have the same name and I don't know if renaming it will make the difference. I want both. If someone could guide me in getting both on my phone, that would be great. I'm sure there must be a way, but I don't know how to do it. I've read a lot on these boards so I figure if anyone knows how to help, the great minds here do!
I hope I've explained this ok. If I'm not clear, please let me know. Thanks much!
p.s. I've tried a number of camera apps from Play. I don't like the wide shot ones where it has a ghost image for you to line it up manually either, so please don't suggest that.
I recently broke my lg g3 by it falling in water. I used rice to soak the water out of the phone. Now when I update to any fw higher than d85110c, the cameras do not work in their entirety. When I open default camera in d85120r it crashes within a half second. Now when I click on switch cameras button, the front front facing camera works only. When I switxh back to the back camera it crashes. I have tried many different camera apps and none work at all on lollipop. The cameras only work on d85110c!!!!!! I talked to many people at tmobile and they basically had no idea and sent me links to their latest fw links, etc. Anyone have a clue on whats the matter? Can someone rip out and post a zippyshare link for the camera.apk out of the d85110r stock rom please?
this is a duplicate thread that this same OP already posted about camera functionality. Please do not create 2 threads in the same forum asking the same question. It just clutters up the process. Thank you
Hi everyone.
Yesterday i got my new OnePlus 7T. After a while I saw one post about gcam here on xda. There was 6.2 gcam, 7.2 gcam and one xml file that was marked as 6.2. I tried installing 7.2 and ran it without installing xml file before as i thought that was for 6.2 and 7.2 would have it inside.
So i run gcam 7.2 and while zooming camera became completely green or even red (only in the part you can see the image not the app). Closed it, opened stock camera just to see if it still worked but now even the stock camera is making that green screen.
Reboot etc. now when i open instagram and try to shoot a selfie with a filter, it completely freezes the camera until i close ig. I can only see camera working again when i open it again.
Anybody can help? Do i need to ask for a replacement for it since it arrived yesterday?
Seriously? Not a single ****ing one that can help me? This is not the forum i used to know, xda just want money now isn't it? **** off

I’ve to some ideas, but if you’re going to be an asshole, you can sort it yourself.
Sure I will

Maybe you should go into the gcam thread and ask for the help there don't you think? Me personally I don't take pictures like that and if I would I'll just use the stock camera so I obviously ain't no help, I can't speak for everyone else.
