I have a bookmark to http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1662&page=1 that I've been using successfully for a while.
When I tried to use it today, my browser reported a redirect loop.
I'm sure I can figure out what to update the bookmark to, so this is just an FYI.
This should work http://forum.xda-developers.com/transformer-tf700/general
It gave you a loop because your bookmark had '&page=1'. Site now uses the forum name instead of the forum id in the url.

This is a bug with our new url structure - will get this fixed up. For now @roofrider is right, the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/transformer-tf700/general should work for you.

I have an error in downloading.
Anything I download from outside websites fails. Market is still good though.
It say's I have a download error.
Also, I get the com.htc.bgp force close error.
What is that?
THX!
@ the outside market downloading issue, I used to get that on my G1 all the time "content not supported" message when I would try and download something like a .doc for example. Try the download download crutch app, it allowed for me to download non-supported files on past phones but then they removed it from market. It's 100% free but you can't quite find it anywhere anymore sadly D:
As far as your "com.htc.bgp" issue, try running fix permissions in your recovery mod. Also when does this error occur? What triggers it to force close?
EDIT: Did some google'ing and apparently com.htc.bgp has to do with location issues, some people in other phone threads have said turning off GPS makes them not get this error anymore. Hope this helps!

Check to see if you have location turned on for something like Google search.
Astro file manager also allows you to dl anything, just look for it on the market.

So I just picked up a nook simple touch and am eager to root it, I've done plenty with Android on phones, never an ebook though. I've been reading the material here and had a couple questions.
1.) It looks like 1.1 firmware is needed for most of the roots here, however B&N only lists 1.2 currently. Does anyone have a mirror to 1.1 or tell me how to get that, currently I'm on 1.0.1
2.) If I can't get 1.1 are there any roots that will work for 1.2? I've been following the thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1346748 and it looks like it only works from 1.1 by the sound of it.
3.) Is everyone or anyone using the NoRefreshToggle? If so what do you think? Is it worth trying it out? Dangers of using it? When you toggle it off do you get greyscale back? From the sounds of the post, it's pure black and white with it on which is fine if when I disable it, it goes back to normal greyscale images.
4.) Did anyone find out how to turn off page animations in the kindle app? not a big deal, just wondering.
Thanks a lot, look forward to trying this out.
Here's a copy of nook_1_1_update.zip I pulled down from B&N a few weeks ago: http://www.mediafire.com/?h5kn1214gfjhkcg In the end I didn't need it, so I can't confirm how the upgrade works (the instructions said just put the file within the zip on an SD card and reboot)

Thanks for the link
Thanks for the 1.1 post link, however I updated to 1.1.2 and followed the instructions and everything seems to be ok, I can get email, install from the market place, only thing I can't do is search the market. A search just lists a blank page and doesn't find any apps, any ideas.
As for the Kindle question, after installing kindle app and seeing the performance, this isn't a big deal at all.
Still curious on the refresh toggle however, any ideas on that, have you guys tried it out? I may post there if I don't hear back.
Thanks

I have checked and as you said market search functionality is absent, it seems to be broken since the Googleplay thing.
As a way to regain it, in the mean time we get an updated market working, install Searchmarket.
The NorefreshToggle is still in early stages, but works quite well for webpages, etc.
Try it, there are no risks on it, on any program when you enable the app it will work, and when you go into a menu it will return to normal grayscale.

How do I install Searchmarket if I can't search the market for it lol ... Do I have to install it on my phone first, then transfer the apk over to the NST, then file browse and install it from /system/app ?
I tried NoRefreshToggle, it's interesting, like you said a work in progress ... Tried it with GReader unfortunatly it shuts off between Feed view and Article view which is a pain, but I think that's probably to avoid ghosting.
As for web page viewing, Opera Mini FCs on me everytime I open it, as does the stock browser, so I haven't been able to try browsing as of yet Still looking for a solution to that one.
Thanks for all the info, really enjoying the NST if NoRefreshToggle keeps getting better this could really be a killer device

I just use the Google Play website to initiate installs to the nook (it appears in my device list as "phone")
The included Opera Mini installation never worked for me (no FC nothing). In the end I fixed it by uninstalling and reinstalling.

Didn't even know you could send apps like that to your devices, never had a need to try it before. Worked like a charm ... Opera is working now as well, thanks for the tips Really enjoying Android on the NST
So are you saying you are on 1.1.2 rooted and enjoying it?
Should I downgrade to 1.1.1 and root or just go ahead with 1.1.2?
I can't wait to try this out.

I can't speak to the upgrade patch from 1.1.1, I bought my NST yesterday, it had 1.0.1 on it, I upgraded to 1.1.2 then followed the rooting instructions for 1.1.0 or was it 1.1.1 can't remember, in any case, after rooting everything seems to be working just fine

It was 1.1.0, there was no 1.1.1
Is there any risk upgrading to 1.1.2 from 1.1.0? Would I have to reinstall google apps &c? Did anything change in between 1.1.0 and 1.1.2? (I have heard that they may have fixed the WiFi issues that were plaguing me a few months ago.)
Ive seen similar issues but cant find them in search..
anyways i was downloading a pic in chrome and i guess it didnt grab it and now its stuck saying "<Untiled>" and then "data" under it and then a download bar that moves and never stops.. any idea how to fix this? I restarted my phone, pulled battery, uninstalled chrome and reinstalled, force stoped, and still there.. any ideas?
----------
Edit
----------
Reworded search after i already posted this and found a NON phone specific thread saying take the file in your download folder and move it to a new location and it should say download unsuccessful.
Hope this helps anyone with similar issues.

Yeah, this very thing happened to me too. I did everything that you tried too. I almost posted on here for help as well. I opened up my download folder and just deleted the file. Then eventually the download bar disappeared.
Glad you posted this to help others that will eventually come across this!
Excuse me if this has been posted already I searched and couldn't find anything. I was able to find a link showing how to get flash player up and running on the Galaxy Note 2. I don't take credit for any of this I just came across the link, and tried it on my phone as well as my girlfriend and it works flawlessly. The only problem is it does not work with Google Chrome, it only works with the stock internet browser. Click this link

Make sure you go to page one, the first post.
And then download the APK, install and you're good to go. Remember it only works with Internet Explorer not Chrome, and again I apologize if this has been posted. My girlfriend and I are not rooted so we're on stock roms and it works flawlessly. Good luck and have fun

Thank you for sharing!
Not sure what you mean it only works on Internet Explorer since there's no IE on android. I've done this before, it's it's pointless since I use chrome as my main default browser all the time.

He means the stock browser, but yes, it only works on that. Chrome does not support flash at all.

I meant the stock internet browser. And I use Chrome all the time too, but if I need flash I just use the stock browser now. This post is for people who want flash and don't know how to get it. Not everybody uses chrome (and this is not pointless to those who need flash like myself. My business website has flash on it so I times I need flash on my phone) many people still use the stock browser, and I'm sure people who do you Crome all the time like myself, if they need flash they will go back to the stock browser now that they know how to get flash when flash is needed.

Hi,
Sorry I post my question here, but my post count is too low to post to development threads.
My problem: I can't open any shortened links (from any twitter client) in any browser. Is there some setting or something that prevents short link opening? Every browser says "web page not available". With normal urls browsers work fine...
My setup now: HyperdroidJBX 2.5 with clean install (Megawipe before flashing). After install I restored apps from Titanium backup. I had this same problem once before and that time I got it to work with re-install.
I tried clearing app-cache and re-installing apps. No help.
With search I found few similar threads, but not any solutions.
