[Q] UOT & Jelly Bean - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just out of curiosity, has anyone used UOT kitchen on either the 10.0 or 10.1 ROMS? I tried to change the battery and some other icons (like I used to do on the old gingerbread days) and it kept the default icons. So I was wondering if others had tried.
thanks

[Q] UOT Kitchen

I have tried to use the UOT Kitchen on a couple of ROMs (Incredibly ReEngineered Z, Nils Gingersense, and SkyRaider) and none of them have made all of the changes in the mod I made. Am I missing a step or can only certain things be changed on certain ROMs? I seems that its always the same changes that don't take effect. TIA for any help.

[Q] How to extract MIUI statusbar icons?

Hi,
I have experience with modifying themes by swapping PNGs and wanted to add some of them from MIUI to Samsung rom.
Unfortunately I cannot find them in neither MIUI ROM, nor it's theme files. They're not in the place non MIUI ROMs hold them and anywhere else.
i downloaded miui galnet a few weeks ago for this and they were all in systemui.apk just like for gingerbread stock roms
That's true, but for example battery ones are missing.

Restoring default cyanogenmod theme on a skinned ROM (e.g black ice)?

Hi,
I'm running Black Ice - and the ROM itself is good, but I'm not a huge fan of the skin. The lockscreen is very dark and the symbols have changed, and also the statusbar has different icons which I'm not that keen on.
How can I restore the default cyanogenmod theme, is there a flashable zip that removes all of the custom skins?
Thanks
You should just switch back to cyanogen. Devs take a base and add a theme to it because they are targeting a specific look. If its not for you then switch to something else. If there are other themes available for a Rom they will be posted in op or someone in thread will post a working one. I don't think they are interested in going for the cyanogen look since cyanogen already has the vanilla look down.
I know the black ice devs don't want the vanilla look, and I'm ok with that. But you can skin roms in different ways, so surely one is the default cyanogenmod look?
The thread mentions copying systemui.apk and framework-res.apk but I'm not having any luck.
And blackice has some great tweaks, which is why I'm using it
Black ice is derived from cyanogen so you should be able to extract those two files from framework in cyanogen and push them to your phone and then reboot. What problems are you experiencing while trying this? You could try using the kitchen to swap the files.

[Q] UOT Kitchen question....

Hello all...I have tried using the uot kitchen once before, but I don't know where to find framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk on our phones? I am using the Juggernaut 5.0 Rom with the daybreak theme. Also, should I do a clean install of Jug 5.0 without a theme before trying to apply anything from the kitchen or does it matter? Any help would be great. Thanks
