Hi Folks,
I live and work in the US, but also travel to Europe a lot.
I want to buy an XDA II (I already have XDA/T-Mobile).
Can anyone tell me where the best place to buy one is (without a contract) and what price I could expect to pay.
I am seeing them on eBay in the US for $900 and thought someone here may be able to point me in the direction of somewhere I could get one for a better price?
I can take delivery in the US or the UK, but want to make sure I have no problems unlocking the phone for use with a T-Mobile SIM card...
Thanks for any help.
Regards,
Geoff
T-Mobile is already selling XDAII, did you think of buying a used XDAII ??
I am in the USA and they aren't selling it here yet - not as far as I am aware... Do you know different?
I would consider a used one if you know where I could get one...
Thanks for your help.

I bought a new one at www.tekntoys.com they were in Canada I buy mine in less than $850 and I am very satisfied about there policy. I did buy the MDA-II instead of i-Mate. They actually shipped my MDA late for a week and as a complement they give me an extra battery and I am happy with thier service. Todd and his emplyees actually friendly I call them from time to to to check my order. They give me everything info that I need on whats going on.
So when you think about buying new one try them.
I live in america and the american galaxy nexus' wont be released till the end of the month. So i am going to buy a UK unlocked version since it should be the same if i use my Tmobile Sim card. I have never bought a phone off line yet. So im wondering what is a trust worthy site that i can import it from? Thats cheap too of couse haha. I know buying a sim-unlocked phone is going to be expensive but as cheap as possible.
Thank you for the help
im coming from the g2x xP just saying ha

i'm about to hit the checkout button on expansys-usa. i just don't see a gsm version officially hitting the states until probably february and it'll probably be only 16gb version. what's a tech addict supposed to do?
Do what I did and click Check out.
Give in. I did. We can sell the 16 when the 32 or the SGS3 hits. I was tired of waiting and you only live once. Enjoy!
Just got mine from there and its bad ass my friend. Sorry I can't help you here.

If its something you truly want, and you want it now, you don't really have another option do you?
lmao. some friends you are. if this was a crack pipe, somebody would be lighting the lighter, holding the pipe, holding my head and punching me in the gut.
I was in the same boat. I had the order screen up, staring at the pay button. Finally I just effin pressed Pay now. I sold my GS2 and paid a good chunk more for this phone. It arrived today. It seriously is the most amazing phone I've ever used. I have an iPhone 4 now for work and a GS2 before it for personal. The combo of ICS and this beautiful device just make for an awesome out of box experience. If you really want it, if you keep looking up stuff about it and thinking about it...buy it. You won't regret it.
it doesn't help i've already bought a mhl adapter, 6" rt angle to rt angle 3.5mm cable, screen protector, tpu case for it and an otg cable.
no GSM until February ? Why ffeb? There is not an official release date for the GSM. No one knows if come Monday Google will announce a date.
Youre gonna buy it now for $750 and watch next week its for sale for $550 from Google
Do it.
My GNEX arrived this morning and it's easily the best tech purchase I've made in a long time.

well, canada is unofficially dec. 7. and verizon is unofficially dec. 8. i'm sure verizon has at least a 60 day exclusive on this. i just don't see the u.s. getting any love any sooner because google has failed to give us any details on an unlocked usa version.

I would say your best bet is to at least wait for the release in Canada and then import it from Canada. You'll probably get a better deal that way. The official release date in Canada is Dec.8 and that's just a matter of less than two weeks so I would say wait until then and see if there is any more news on the GSM version in USA, and if not, import it from Canada for a smaller price
EDIT: Actually, either way the unlocked Galaxy Nexus from Bell is $649 without tax so with taxes and duty fees etc. its probably going to amount to the same price. Lol, I guess that was no help after all

Ya importing from the UK is cheaper and you can get it now.
I wish I could talk you out of it.. but after using the device for a few hours, I just can't.
btw, where did you get your OTG adapter? I'm looking for one at a decent price.. hoping to avoid ebay, if possible..

Ok, I'll play devil's advocate for this thread. I happen to be one that really wants this phone as well, however I am going to wait just a little while longer for any rumors that it will be available 'legitimately' in the US for GSM. A few thoughts Im having:
- Warranty. If I were to buy from Negri, Handtec etc, while they most likely would assist in getting my device fixed, it would still take probably 2-6 weeks and 9 months down the road they may not be as helpful to expedite it. Also, they may give you a loaner phone, otherwise you would have to provide that while you're phone is in the shop.
- I have a feeling the US based GSM phones will be $599 for 16gb. While its only $100 less than buying it right now, I figure its worth the small wait.
- While I believe everyone's opinion over this phone, I also wanted to at least see a Verizon version of the device at a Best Buy just to make sure.
I have gone through a lot of android devices lately and hoping to find the right fit for me. Assuming the Nexus is, I hope to own it for at least 18 months. For others, feel free to refute me and maybe I'll be suckered into buying now as well
I'm one of the unlucky Handtec people still waiting on my pre-order and I would still hit the checkout button even with the foreknowledge of this. It's one of the few phones out there where the hardware and software are working together rather than the multitude of phones that are indeed hardware powerhouses but have the OS slapped on seemingly as an afterthought.

I didn't really want to add another thread to the forum, but I could really find any information this anywhere. I even used the search function.
If I buy an International Note II for use here in the states, does the manufacturer warranty still apply? If so, how does it work. If not, is it really worth buying an Int. Note II then?

No unless you buy from someone in the UK (i.e. Clove or Expansys) and have them serve as the intermediary with Samsung warranty. If something goes wrong and you purchased from a vendor who advertised a warranty, you would contact them, ship the phone to them, they will ship it to Samsung on your behalf, it gets fixed, shipped back to the reseller, they will ship it back to you. Pain in the neck, but the only way.
If you bought from, say, Newegg (like me) and something goes wrong, you are on your own as non-US market phones have absolutely zero warranty in the US.

Thanks. I was kind of figuring that, but wasn't sure at all. Dang. I was actually looking to buy the Int. Note II but had only waited because most of the cases I've found sucked. I guess I'll have to wait on the US version then :/
Hi Guys,
I will travel to Madrid end of the next week (1st September-3rd September) and will spend 3 days as a tourist. As I see the Note 7 is cheaper in Spain than Budapest so I decided I will buy one during my holiday. Please give me an advice where can I buy this phone. I visited Media Mark web page but maybe there are cheaper solutions for me. Warranty is important I don't want to order via internet so I prefer the personal pick up.
Thank you
TB
Any suggestion?
My suggestion is don't do it.
If you have a problem with an imported mobile the Samsung importer of the country you reside in may decide its your problem? You would then need to travel again to Spain to resolve the situation, that would be financially disastrous.
Pay the extra and have peace of mind. I NEVER make a major purchase while abroad unless I am prepared to write it off in the case of developing a problem. Its just not worth the hassle.
If you insist I can name several stores that will sell you the mobile with pleasure. Its very much at your own risk though. OH and I know all about the international and European warranties. They are very well written but often very poorly implemented. Again, Caution.
Ryland
PS. Amazon.es may have them in stock soon, that would be mail order but you would have 14 days to return it and two years warranty that Amazon will abide by.
