Hi all,
I have the Australian N7105T LTE (non carrier specific, direct from samsung)
a few days ago weird things started happening
market saying no connection
notifications stopped
then yt and google stopped signing in (the cant get reliable connection message)
and was getting force stop messages for all google services
so after searching, and trying all the usual
re install the market
clear data and cache
delete the account etc
delete host file
i gave up and did a factory reset
now google signs in to yt and gmail
market crashes again
no notifications (like fb twitter and so on)
is there any other steps i can do
besides flashing the stock rom via odin or loading a custom rom ?
fyi device is running 4.1.2 (no update to 4.2 or 4.3 for us yet)
EDIT:
have also removed root as well before resetting to factory settings

Hey people,
I'm currently located in China and I've got serious problems with the Market lately.
I'm using and been using CM7 on my Moto Defy for months (almost since CM7-Jordan beginning) and I've never had such Market problems before.
So I'm wondering if
1) other users from China can tell me if things are the same (or fine) for them?;
2) anyone have hint/suggestion on how to fix this after reading what I did/observed here?:
First, I'll say again that I've never had problems with Market before; none getting it installed (through gapps zip) on CM7 when updating/reflashing ROM or Nand backups/ none with downloading or upgrading apps with the Market app.
But all in a sudden last week, I noticed that the Market was not reacting quickly. I was testing 111004-1128 nightly (which has a newer Superuser file included) then after SU updated itself automatically [coincidence???], all things broke loose, Market would not connect and give me errors. SU would also alway stay in the "Not Installed" List of my Market apps (even after reboots and logins).
I've then tried to install the Superuser Market update fixer app (big mistake I think now) but that just made things worst. In an effort to get the Market going again, I did clean it's cache and eventually it's data which basically resetted all my listed apps in the Market.
Following all that, I did numerous fresh installs [maybe 10 at this point]: RSDL Froyo flashing and CM7 and gapps installs [with and without restoring old working CWM backups] and with countless install combinations of older CM7 builds and gapps versions.
On August's gapps, Market always gives me the "No connection Retry" even if I can get connected to Google services since my wifi indicator turns blue or green (depending on theme/CM7 build used) and Talk and Gmail logs in fine.
On June's gapps, login seems fine: I can browse apps but as soon as I try downloading something, I get stuck at Downloading 0%... and it seems to put the servicee in some sort of bootloop since and other apps icons do not display until I get "Download failed to install - Try again" and click OK. Market will also FC as soon as I select anything from the "Just in" sections.
I've tried clearing Market's cache many times, started Talk, signed out and back in, let my wifi on all night to leave Market to update. I've even created a new gmail account and tried it on yet another fresh install with June gapps; nothing works and this drive me nutts!!
I can go on my desktop, use a VPN service to log in to my Market account and install something from there; it will be pushed on my phone alsmost right away. But again I can't install anything from the phone no matter what.
That would be fine with me, but that means that for any special apps that otherwise would require me to use Market Enabler, I will not be able to do it from the desktop either.
It's not a question of having DroidWall or anything else I've installed blocking something out; like I wrote; I've tried many clean installs without restoring or installing anything...: same.
So, has The Great Firewall" finally caught up to Android Market and stopping use of any Vending.apk from withtin China? Are they recent changes from Google? Or am I having other Market setup/install problems here? What's your take on this?
Thanks for reading and thanks for any help in advance.
Cheers.
And PLEASE do not "full quote" this long post (sorry for that btw) .
Market has been blocked by GFW. I can't access it either unless using VPN.

This sounds not so far fetched..
I live in the US, and I see the same type of behavior at my college.
I can get to the app, but when downloading it sits there for a century.
the idea of censorship isn't something I would blame, nor shrug.
Her are a few things I should try...
Use a spare gmail account to test with, and see if you can reproduce the same results...
Try and use that same vpn, configured through your phone this time, and disable any apn/data settings other than wifi... Now try.
Edit:
P.s. What ROM are you using? The cm team has a stable out now.. Guide that a shot...

My OP was a long one, but I think that i did mention somewhere that I've tried a new gmail account with same result.
My vpn use encryption and will not work on defy ;(
Strangely, from all my recent tries at getting gapps to work properly, it seems that I can only use 2G data to do the first account setup. And that seems to 'work' only with June gapps package.
Recent update (on RC1.5):
I've also managed to get my installed apps listed again by playing around with 2G data and installing and uninstalling a standalone 3.1.3 Vending apk as update and undo it.
I was able to download 2 or 3 apps (out of 50 trials) also by fiddling w data enable/disable.
But again, never before, in 4-5 months using CM7, I had to turn on data past the initial Google setup and I've never had any download issues either....
So i don't think that it's related to TGFW and will keep digging...
On 7.1 now but no change..as
I did flash june gapps w 7.1 but never got any setup to do since no factory reset. Will try a clean install tomorrow or the day after...
Thanks for your reply.
OK I finally got it to work after all.
I just tried to fix the fix the problems caused by the new Superuser update after trying a recent nightly in just the worst possible way over and over.
So what you have to remember is:
1- to NOT signin to your Google account using data and do it over wifi. So select "Skip" on the screen showing "Create an account", "Sign in" or "Skip" and go ahead with other settings: your baseband, wifi and especially turning off "Data enabled".
2- always use the latest gapps version, not the June one like I tried many times
3- Install gapps along with a fresh CM7 zip install; not a nand restoration.
4- after reboot (if needed by Defy Baseband Switcher) just press the Market icon and set up your account then
So wipe data, cache and Dalvik and install CM7 zip (RC1.5 is a good one to start with) and and latest gapps zip and follow the above.
Sorry for this useless thread and for me trying to get this working like a chicken without a head
So @ TimelesslyPrecise: if your downloads do not start, it might as well be because you did setup your account over data the first time.
So just start from scratch again:
- backup your apps [with TB, the newest (and free) Astro file manager or other];
- do a fresh CM7 install (no need to reflash Froyo) but do as above;
- restore your apps;
- then just click on the Market icon and sign in.
Don't worry if at first your apps are not listed under "My apps"; they will eventually come back with usage.
@xcjiang: yeah I knew that, but that doesn't mean that the Market app on the phone doesn't work.
Sorry again about that.
Cheers.
Didn't worked for me...
Instead I found cause and solution elsewhere http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295222
To cut the story short, problem is in way that Market don't get DNS right.
Solution is to install app that will change DNS for every wifi connection DNS to OpenDNS (my choice) or GoogleDNS. I'm using DNS Changer.
Now enjoy superfast Market

He freezed or deleted some system apps which gives the written your problem....
Hi Everyone, I have a somewhat unique problem which I have not been able to find on XDA or elsewhere. Since the 4.1.1 update, which I received yesterday, I have not been able to complete any app updates via a data connection (atm I do not have a Wi-fi connection). I am still able to make calls, send SMSs and browse the internet with no issues.
When I attempt to update an app, it will hang at a certain percentage such as the google search app which stalls at 45%. I've tried to update that numerous times but somehow it always hangs at that percentage.
I've tried to clear the cache and all data for any task related to Google Play. Finally I tried a factory reset, but I am still having the same problems; only now I have lost all my apps, and they two cannot finish their re-download to my HTC device.
This is my first thread so just let me know if I have done anything wrong, and I'll try my best to correct it.
Thanks
I think we are on the same CID HTC_023? I have not had any problems with either updating or installing apps from Google Play. You've done what I would have done in you case. Any chance you can connect to a wifi network and try it, at a coffee shop or through a friend?
thanks for the reply

I've been able to download and update apps via Wif-fi at uni. The problem only seems to be with downloading Google Play Store updates and apps via data. I guess the problem must be with my current version of Google Play (the latest) or my carrier
Hey folks
I searched for similar topics but nothing helped
When connected on my home wi-fi I can't download or update from PlayStore. But over other Wi-Fi Networks it works, like at friends home or at work. Also over 3G there is no problem.
When updating I get the notification "Update for "the app" could not be downloaded due to an error (927)
I tried the uninstall updates from google play services and data from dl manager method, wipe dalvik method, log out delete google account and relogin with the google account method. Rebooted router, checked for some strange settings... nothing helped.
Anyone got an Idea what could cause this problem?
Thanks

Every time that I've had that issue, here's what I do. I'm aware you've tried about half of the things, but you missed a step lol.
1) Settings>Apps>Running Force Stop Google Play/Anything else tied to it (I usually stop all Google services)
2) Log out of your Google Account
3) Go into your app drawer, tap and drag the Google Play icon to the "info" to open up the info on the app.
4) Clear data and cache for the app, disregard the warning messages
5) Reboot device
6) Log back in
7)????
8) Profit
I'll give it a try, thanks!
Just wanted to pitch in my two cents on my experiences with this problem:
I have a rooted Sprint Note 2 running CM 10.2. I had no problems with the Play Store when I first rooted and got CM up and running. However, I had to flash back to a stock ROM because of GPS issues. When I flashed back to CM (via nandroid restore), Play Store was returning the error: "Error retrieving information from the server [RPC:S-5:AEC-0]."
So I deleted Play Store data and restarted. Then, strangely enough, when I logged back in, the Play Store did not have anything in "My Apps" or "Installed Apps," and when I tried to download anything, now it was returning "download error (927)."
So then, I deleted Play Store and Google services data and tried again. No good. So then, I cleared the Play Store and Google Services data, booted into recovery, and flashed gapps again (e.g. a clean install of Play Store). Still got error 927. I then tried switching google accounts on Play Store - still no luck.
As I was still in the office at this point, I gave up and decided to go home to try later. When I came above ground on the subway, I noticed that Play Store was automatically updating some of my apps with no problems.
In conclusion, I have no idea which solution - or combination of solutions - worked, but the problem was solved. Here is a list of every step I took:
1. Deleted Play Store and Google Services data in Apps
2. Reinstalled the Play Store
3. Switched Google Accounts
4. Waited 30 minutes to try again?
Hope this helps for people having this annoying problem.

My problem wont be fixed with any of these as its 927 on all of my devices but sometimes after 11pm it works. and sometimes during a reset of my phone they will automatically download sporadically. Its google servers for me. To bad google's customer service is one of the worst i have seen.
I would have to agree I have the same issue and have had it since December of last year at least. I have an email thread that shows the ongoing issues and they have never fixed a single issue. I can't even load the play store at all now just get connection timed out retry and forget trying all the "fixes" because I have gone through hours and hours and tried every fix that anyone could suggest. For a while I was able to download successfully but not reliably and ONLY ON CELLULAR. Google servers even knew when I was connecting to another phone (using it as a hotspot) and since it was cellular it worked fine. But if I used a real landline wifi it would error every single time. I basically have given up and will not buy another app or even use my android devices and thankfully I have others to use since I work for a phone company but google is absolutely pathetic in this. Google's suggestion is they are working on it and there is nothing else they can do for me. That's fine if it was a few days or maybe a few weeks but this is well over 4 months and they are making products unusable.
I'm doing a new thread instead of posting on the specific stock because I believe this problem may be more generic.
---- Details -----
So, I have a P601, so Exynos processor, and I heard that recently it got the LP update, so after over a year of not messing much with root and stuff with my tablet, I decided to update it.
First, I had the Hydronium ROM (4.4.2) installed, a stock based ROM. This is the one I used for over a year, no updates.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2782580
Then I decided to install this one via TWRP ([Official Lollipop 5.1.1] Galaxy Note 10.1(2014 Edition) SM-P601 Firmware Root Deodex)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...ficial-lollipop-5-1-1-galaxy-note-10-t3249975
And what I got was a Black Screen and no boot besides the Galaxy Note logo.
I then downloaded and flashed a stock ROM via Odin ([Official Lollipop 5.1.1] Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) SM-P601 Firmware Update)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...ficial-lollipop-5-1-1-galaxy-note-10-t3240720
---- The Problem ----
And it booted back with all the data intact, but since then, a few apps like Gmail, Inbox and Hangouts do not work anymore, and when I check my google account, every time it syncs, it gives an error and Gmail and/or Inbox crashes with an "Unknown Google Play Services error".
I thought the problem was that I had 4.4.2 Gmail apps and they did not get updated to 5.1.1 (Though I would guess the stock rom would have done it...), so I downloaded TK-GApps, but when I went to install, it did not let me do it because I already have Google services installed, and it wasn't TK-GApps.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/tk-gapps-t3116347
So I ask, is there something I can do? I already installed the initial rooted ROM over the stock, so I have root and stuff. I would appreciate any suggestions that may help me to get it synced and not have those crashes every half an hour or so.
Thank you.
--------------------------------------------------
So, following the happenings below, I left it charging, and just before going, checked again if GMail was working and no deal, so I went to Titanium Backup and restored the data (not the apps), and in the middle of the process, GMail notified me with all recent emails, and everything works now. Well, no idea why it wasn't working before, but now it does.
Well, decided to reinstall everything again, so I backed all normal apps with Titanium Backup, and used TWRP to wipe Data and System, and re flashed everything. Followed the welcome screen, logged on my GMail account, installed Gmail, says my Google Play Services should be updated, I updated it via Play Store, and still no messages... Went to check if my entire Google account synced and no deal, failed.
So I'm guessing I must be using incompatible ROMs or something like that... I guess?
