Not sure what does cm10.2 have to do with Android 4.4 and its default Google apps but no, no transparent status bar in cm10.2 unless cm team adds it to the source code.

Everything is fine on CM 10.2 Alpha3, except the clock that I cannot install. It seems that the camera does not longer show green artifacts in portrait mode.

The launcher is not optimised for our screen resolution. It needs some work.

))))) Could you please define "not optimized"? If you're referring to the icon size, for as far as I know, the default icon size has been increased so you will have slightly bigger icons. And that's intended. And also, you understand that these are the default apps made by Google and if you're not satisfied with them you can file a complaint to Google since no one else will fix that, right?

I mean the app drawer has 5 rows and 5 columns which is too much for our small screen.
Also, the icons on the home screen are small and have big margins around them. (DPI issue)
This apk was probably taken from a phone with a bigger screen and higher resolution. Thats all I meant.
I'm really looking forward to a kitkat AOSP or CM release for our wonder.

Would you mind taking and sharing some screenshots? I'm just curious how bad really looks like.
And yeah, you're most likely right about the apk being ripped from a bigger screen phone. It's been only released to the nexuses so far and...I don't think any of those receiving it right now is under 720p...

) I didn't try it on Ancora yet. But I did try it on Serrano and it looks quite beautiful. That's why I was so curious about how does it look on an Ancora device. Also, I loooove the new features like Google Search and the keyboard and the new Hangouts with SMS support and the way the launcher manages the homescreens. Absolutely beautiful. There are still a few apps that won't work perfectly (at least not from this source) most likely due to missing libs but still it's enough to make an idea of what's gonna hopefully land for Ancora as well in the upcoming months.

The clock widget that you saw in my screenshot is not from the apps above. It's a third party widget (part of Backgrounds app) you can also add to your CM10.2 from Google Play Store. And yeah, the DeskClock doesn't work (probably missing some libs) and also the Gallery doesn't work.

Apps not installed

Camera App worked perfectly with no green color during cam shot and in the taken photos.
I hope it will be included in future build of Cyanogenmod.

[MOD] MIUI Extended Settings Mod

It's time for a change...I think some might like the changes others might not..
I've created an App. (it's my first one so no laughing!!!)
It contains the same options you know and love and a couple of new ones!!!
The idea of creating an App is to cut down on the number of files I have to tinker with each week. It was taking too much time. This way I only have to modify the SystemUI.apk and the Launcher2.apk and I'm done.
Those users who couldn't use this Mod because of the changes to services.jar should now be fine..
Couple of things to note..
The option to Hide the Debug Icon is missing. I'm trying to work out a way of hiding the icon without modifying services.jar
If you change the battery Top Bar you might notice a delay of a few seconds before it updates.. (Just me being Lazy)
The Auto Close feature is now standard with the Launcher so the option to enable it is no longer needed.
There are three version
ESCenter - Center Clock Version
ESSwitched - Center Clock, Notification and signal icons switched.
ESRight - Standard version with clock on the right as normal.

i strong heartedly disagree with the above poster. I'm on MIUI atm, and I get one full day of use out of my SGS, with HSDPA enabled /always connected, lots and lots of browsing, phone calls, sms, yahoo and whatsapp messenger online almost 24/7, some games, some BT transfers and some Wifi.
then again, I do know how to customize my SGS with black themes and various other settings to extend battery life...btw, no underclocking or undervolting..
no way you're gonna get the same level of polish and the same experience on Eclair..
just my 2 cents...
cheers!

I would have to also tell you, yea there is...
Just because there are people like yourself who extremly are satisfied with it and consider it a top rom, doesn't mean everyone see it in the same light.
I stuck with MIUI with every version from 3 to the latest 5.3, it was my first ever custom rom, and as much as I wanted to like it I finnaly decided to give up on it for the foreseeable future. Even for someone who tried to like it was biased toward it it is more a gimmick rom for entertainment, than proper sgs rom you'd consider serious. Even tried to get my friends on it while I was on it, everyone hated it.
In my opinion it has great potential, but its still in its infancy. It is way to rough and misguided to be a good solid rom. Even going to a base 2.2 rom just rooted and lagfixed beats MIUI in almost every aspect. I finnaly don't feel like breaking my phone again. Almost every aspect of MIUI is different, which is where the appeal comes from, but somehow the difference is rarely for the better and it manages never to be as good even an original rom in terms of usability. At the moment I would consider it the poorest choice out of the the popular roms.
Since you will probably ask, the biggest downfalls off the top of my head I had with MIUI is unrelenting and completely unsolvable battery drain issues. This alone makes the rom not worth taking seriously. Calendar, the way you set your alarm, messaging, contacts etc, having to press double or more buttons to get to particular areas the stock phone does in 1, little things like that.
Laggy menus is another one.
I dont even want to get into how bad this rom is with the camera. Horrendeus software, menus etc, recording upside down, and on top of that it completely incapacitated the video recording of the phone. VErsion 5.3 and the videos still record at 3fps and the frames jump back and forward every 2 seconds as well...
heres miui on a good day for you.

Adding an extra option isn't that difficult. Getting that extra option to do what it's supposed to do is the tricky bit!!! )
If Galnet has managed to work out how to implement this feature I'm sure he's more than capable of adding an option to the settings menu but having said that I'm more than happy to help out if needed..

[12-10-2011][THEME] TW4.5 SGS II theme v3.3 (CM7 version updated!)

12-10-2011: CyanogenMod 7(.1) version updated!
I'll be doing more work, to get the whole app themed with SGS II/ other nice icons that fit the theme
Ta-DAAAA!!!!!
It has arrived. My version 3.2 of the SGS II theme includes A LOT of SGS II app icons, even in your app drawer and CyanogenMod 7.
I will be working to make this better when suggestions are made .
Little question: Who would like to see a LauncherPro theme of this?
I'm also thinking about doing something else theme-related, but more rigourous. Who would like permanent SGS II icons on their apps, without a theme?
Aaaaand... Can someone get me some old MotoBlur icons? Want to make that a theme too Already have the new icons
The apps included are:
- Browser
- Calendar
- Contacts
- Email
- Messaging
- Downloads
- Settings
- Tasks (SGS II app)
- Gallery (A.K.A. Gallery3D)
- GMail
- Google Search
- Google Talk
- Voice Search
- YouTube
- Kies Air
- Calculator
- Camera
- Clock
- Task Manager (Samsung's)
- Phone (A.K.A. Dialer)
- AllShare
- FM Radio
- Memo (Samsung's)
- My Files (Samsung's)
- Video Editor
- Video Player (Samsung's)
- Photo Editor
- Samsung Apps
- IM (SGS II app)
- Vlingo Voice To Go (Both shortcuts have the same icon.)
If an icon is the same on every device, or doesn't work with your device, please tell me and I'll look into it.
Please PM me if you use my icons for a ROM/theme/whatever.
Why not post this in the TW4.5 theme collection? I have, with a link to this thread.
This is mainly to get it noticed, instead of it not getting noticed.
Apart from that, the thread is not very lively anymore...
I would like to thank my brother for letting me look at the activities which I didn't have anymore...
One last thing: I will be doing requested themes (I don't have PhotoShop skills, so it's better if you provide the icons ), and if someone can post the MotoBlur icons, I will make a theme out of those too.
dherre65 said:
This is on CM7, but ofcourse it looks the same as on a Samsung rom, because the icons are the same. Only the package names differ, that's why Bassie made a different CM7 zip.

Will make some pics. It happened alright.
I don't have all the apps on my device, so I will list them in the OP. With that, a picture.
As you can see, they are a bit foggy in the drawer, but not too much.
Also, Samsung Apps doesn't seem to have changed. It should have a blue background, can anyone verify?

I know, they are upscaled. That was the only way to get them big enough in the app drawer, it automatically makes them look small in the drawer.
Therefore, I am asking for a fix. How do I get bigger icons that look right? Maybe take a pic of a theme on here?
The icons in the dock don't get made smaller, so they are fine in the dock...
And I accidentally thanked you for your post Well, you have that one from me already

It must be a bug in the launcher... Thanks for reminding me.

My Phone has the icon of contacts, hmmm what can i do?
do the samsung apps work on this? like the feeds and stuff
@strickyy and maddoggin: what do you mean?
Maddoggin, if you mean the widgets (is there a full app called feeds), those should work, since it is a Samsung launcher. If you mean the icons: I have only themed Samsung apps, I didn't find more of Samsung than I said in the first post.

[ROM][sorta] CM7 vs. WildChild [MashUp]

What do you get when you throw CM7 and WildChild in a blender, shake it all up for two minutes, and then pour it over some ice cubes and mint leaves in a cocktail glass? You get this beast.
I'm not sure if I'd call it a real ROM release... more like CM7 with hyper-themeing. I'm not sure if it should go under Themes, either.
Make no mistake, this is CM7.2 (June 16, 2012) and all credit for that goes to alquez (et al.). I merely provide the themeing at the UI, framework, and APK level.
I also integrate Google apps into the ROM, to save you the hassle.
Oh, and I also removed themes and live wallpaper because they are annoying, butt-ugly, and do nothing other than eat up valuable resources. You're welcome.
For the first boot, give it some time at the splash screen (about a minute?). This is normal.
I'm still not a huge fan of CM7, but if I had to use a version - this would be the one.
Beware, though:
1) The camera is still a piece of crap and nowhere near the quality that the HTC drivers provide. This is not my fault and is endemic to all versions of CM7 for the Wildfire S.
2) The Bluetooth bug will get you, sooner or later (it got me!).
If you turn on/off bluetooth rapidly (I think 2 or 3 times?), the system will reboot. Doh! Again, this is not my bug. This is a known issue with CM7.
3) The graphics rendering is just horrible. Once again, not my problem. I think this has been an issue with CM7 for WFS since Day 1. Compare the boot animation here to the boot animation in WildChild ROM. Good Lord.
Other than that... have fun with it!

I don't take it too seriously, and neither should you. I threw this together in under an hour. But for those hardcore CM7 fanatics, this just might be a good balance of CM7 core with WildChild good looks. But that's just me, what do I know?

It's not, but you (or I) can easily make it such.
Poke around these XDA forums; I'm pretty sure I saw a tutorial.
If you're stuck, lemme know and I'll throw together a flashable .zip for ya.

Nice! Could you share just the lock screen? Looks brilliant but I have the rest of my rom the way I like it.

Thanks for your input.
I couldn't agree more about the crappy Clocktopia font (that's why it was the first thing I removed from the WildChild ROM). I love the ICS font much better, so I'll swap that out shortly. Thanks for sending it my way.
As for ripping out the lockscreen: CM7 doesn't have a modular lockscreen apk. It's embedded in the framework. I can easily detach the framework and make it a flashable zip for you (and others) but you run the risk of overwriting some of your other customized icons. However, if you used the UOT Kitchen to theme your CM7, then you can easily get your customizations back (and retain my fire ring lockscreen).
Stay tuned, and enjoy the weekend.
Very nice rom!
Tell me how did you change the App launcher button to that fire ring? Looks super cool.

A gentleman never asks; and a lady never tells.
(Actually, I just ripped it out of my WildChild ROM... but it is something I created entirely by hand.) :good:
This is for a510e I presume?

I can confirm it works on the a510e (Marvel, GSM) but I would bet you a fresh apple pie that it runs on your CDMA as well.
I've read tons of reports from users that got CM7.2 (which is what this ROM effectively is) to run on their a510a (with the possible exception of a broken camera). Then again, if camera is important to you, you shouldn't be running CM7 anyway. Even if it recognizes your camera, the camera quality of CM7 is laughingly useless.
Buona fortuna,
Nice Rom !
Its something close to what I have always wanted to be in a ROM. Nice work but I have found a bug in this. Hope you can clear it.... The battery integration is not fine.... I did reflashing and all that stuff but found that the battery indicator calibrated 5% battery only and the ROM is a battery killer.... Rest everything is like a beauty....

Interesting... I haven't experienced this, but I'll certainly look into it for you.
What else can you tell me about your config? (CPU speeds? Any power mgmt apps installed? etc.)
Danke,
Does anyone wanna see this for CM9?

[THEME] Ironman J.A.R.V.I.S.Q - UCCW skin

I recently got my Nexus 4 and as my first post I'd like to share my JARVIS clock/battery uccw widget!
When I got my Nexus 7 I release the Evangelion NERV theme so I wanted to make this a thing :silly:
The attached file includes the two wallpapers and the themes in uzip format (so you can modify it as much as you want).
- Install the app UCCW: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=in.vineetsirohi.customwidget
- Add a UCCW widget to the screen and in the top right corner tap "uzip" and locate the uzip file.

yes that one, sorry for being a little unclear , i think the reason why i felt its empty is because i use pie control, looking forward to the next update
Bought to support. It looks great, but there seems to be some bugs for me. Getting "F0MAX" for the temps on weather similar issues for the smaller weather bar. I'm on the latest PA if that helps.
Also, do you think there'd be anyway to get a stocks ticker included in there? Maybe where the "Identification Lookup" section is since it kinda looks like a ticker already?

Thanks a bunch !
The weather bug is usually caused by disabled GPS access. You can try choosing your "weather provider" and "location" in UCCW's settings, that should fix it!
Once again, an amazing theme! Was looking forward to this one, especially after I installed the app Cyman Mark 2. Now I've got a theme to match my digital JARVIS butler! Set it up on my Galaxy Nexus.
Appreciate the hard work!
Problem
Hey
Love the theme but I am using Lightening Launch and whenever I click on the hotspots all it does is open the customize menu for the widget..
Do I have to use Nova..?
Using a rooted samsung s3 with Boeffla kernel 2.10 beta and Omega Rom 43.1
Awesome theme! I am mostly set with my current setup on my N4, but I would love to use this for my N7. The theme looks like it works for the N7 but has anyone tried it yet?

bought the theme, having problem w/weather showing under "current temp is..". Also, how do I change the time to 12hr format instead of 24 on the arc reactor widget? Looks cool btw.

Just like jnewman1991 said, if you turn on your hotspot mode, it will start working. Check the video tutorial again for details, I explain all about it there!

Yeah, I own a N7 myself and it works perfectly, or maybe even better on it since the screen is larger.

edit: I actually left out the feature to change the format from 24 to 12 on purpose xD

nice to see you here
After a bit more playing around, everything seems to be working well except for the upcoming schedule area, which doesn't seem to be updating after adding a new event.
Bought it, works great! There a way to change the temp from C to F in Jarvis 2?
Clock I can deal with because I work for the military. Thanks!

It might not get updated instantly but on my nexus 4 it updates relatively fast. Are you running a lot of stuff in the background maybe?

Thanks man! Go to the UCCW app and then its settings. You should be able to change it from Celsius to Fahrenheit over there.

Nope, it looks like it's just not updating at all. It's been several hours since I added an event to the calendar.

I want to start with saying that this theme is an paid theme through google play but I attached the uzip for the widget to left.
In other word, that one is free of charge and modifiable!.Just wanted to let that be said before anyone goes rampage cause I put a lot
of work in making this. The 4 months of wait for UCCW to implement high resolution support was terrible (not complaining!) ;_;
The last screenshots shows the beta version I created. As for now, the theme takes up the whole screen as you can see in the other screenshots.
To emphasize, I tested this on my Nexus 7, the widgets should fit perfectly.
If you're a N4 user you might have seen it over there as well. I thought I maintain a thread here as well since after all, I'm a N7 owner!
Installing uzip theme files:
Download UCCW and add a UCCW widget to your homescreen, select "uzip" and browse and select the theme.

Works for me, I'll reupload them to dev host when I get home, just in case.
Looks pretty sweet, may have to give that a try sometime.
Ok, one issue I changed some hotspots, now the widget shows up blank (white). I assume just remove the widget and set it up again? Didn't see a refresh setting in UCCW.

Did it work out in the end? Sometimes uccw shows white widget when refreshing for a split second, but it should get back to normal right after that.
Didn't do it on my vibrant, so just removed and readded it and edited it all at the same time. Had a few moments where it just showed image place holders and no images.

Did you maybe consume all the ram available? Another thing, how does the widget look on the vibrant? It got a display of 480 x 800 after all and the theme was recommended to be used on a 720p screen.
Who knows, vibrant i know is pretty much empty software wise. Screens attached.

You can see the ram consumption in settings, sometimes uccw can take up to 80mb which is one of the reason I recommend this on a phone with at least 720p (those phones usually have decent specs). Thanks for the screenshots, how does it look in real life though? I will assume the text is barely readable?
369mb for memory under the settings.. Running Paranoid Android 2.54 (android 4.1.2). Text ain't too bad, I have it setup in phablet mode anyways to get more space on the home screens.

That should be enough! You might want to send a letter to the UCCW developer as I never had this issue before. And thanks for telling me that the text was readable, I havent personally tried it on that resolution yet.
still cant be downloaded?
Yeah, I have no idea what is taking google so long to review my account. Just sent them another email (an hour ago) asking them if you're even working.
Gotta love Google... I know one of their things, if an app is downloaded from any updates have to be done through them as well. Not to mention anything within the app can't be downloaded from outside sources either. Do I sense, Apple's methods coming to the play store? lol

Yeah, they became very strict about that. Just emailed them earlier today and they said they never got the information about my identity so I had to send them again....
