Keep navigation bar position regardless of position? - Nexus 7 (2013) Q&A

Is there anyway to have the navigation bar stay on the right when the display is in landscape orientation?
It takes up so much room when it's on the bottom position while in landscape mode...

The "Navigation bar" (sometimes called navbar) is the Home, Back, Multitask black strip.
See how much space it's taking up at the bottom? I'm looking for a mod that'll move it to the right edge of the screen while in landscape mode.

In aokp Roms there is the option to move it to the side. I know for a fact its in Jamison's solo ROM. You change ui to phone instead of phablet and it will appear on the side.

[Q] Navigation bar at bottom when in landscape?

I'm new to Paranoid Android and I think it's great, but I have one doubt:
Sometimes I use native navigation bar, not Pie Control. Is it possible to have the bar at the bottom when in landscape mode instead that on one side?

[Q] force nav bar position to right hand side in landscape?

Hi,
I'm looking for a mod or app that can force the nav bar to the right hand side of the screen when I go into landscape mode. Effectively I need it to stay where it is in portrait mode.
Not a big issue just annoying that so many pixels are wasted on the narrow dimension.
Thanks
Download the module Phab7 for Xposed Framework, it allows to move the nav bar !

While that works, it's not exactly ideal because it switches everything to the phone UI, including the notifications shade. Is there another way to force the nav bar to the right side without messing with anything else?

Bump. Anyone have any ideas?
i use the GMD auto hide soft key app, which shifts the nav bar always to the right hand side, when turning the tablet into landscape mode. you need to be rooted to use this. hope it helps, cheers

Awesome, thanks oXnoX, that's better than nothing! :victory:
It seams odd though that there's no app just to do the one thing by itself

Navigation bar

Been loving the Nexus 7 from the day i got it, but only one thing bothers me and that is the navigation bar.
Whie in portrait mode there's nothing wrong with it,m but once you are in landscape mode the bar moves to the bottom half of the screen.
Is there any mod available to make the nav bar go to the sides in landscape mode (like phones do)?
Been trying multiple roms and apps but none seem to have this feature.
Anyone knows a way to make this happen?
No one knows something that can help me?

GravityBox has an option to force the navbar to the bottom on landscape mode (obv. for phones). Seems like a request to the dev could yield the opposite option for tablets.

rotation of navigation bar between landscape and portrait?

I am trying to figure out a way to have the navigation bar rotate with the orientation of the screen on my brand new S4. I have looked everywhere and couldn't find any info. In portrait I like having the nav bar at the bottom of the screen but I would prefer in landscape mode to have the navigation bar on the right side of the screen. Does anyone know how to accomplish this because I am lost. Thank you in advance for your help.

Completely agree, probably my biggest issue with this tab. Looked for a bit after buying and never found anything. I just want it to do what my note 8 does.
If you figure it out let us know
Yup. I was super annoyed too. What I did was I switched to nova launcher and turned off the dock. Put my icons where I wanted them to be and ensured the gestures were correct for swipe up and down.
Works. I’m still trying to get things just right.

Gotcha... From the first line looked like he wanted it to rotate, then on later I see not. So actually we don't want the navbar to rotate.
My pixel 2 XL nav bar performs as the OP wants... I will check settings not sure...

Unfortunately the app you suggested requires a level of accessibility services that forces you to remove encryption from the tablet, which I am not willing to allow. Thanks for the recommendation though.
I had a Google pixel C until I recently cracked the screen and I went out and bought this tablet because of the specs. However one thing that bugs me is when the screen rotates while using Nova Launcher my icon dock stays on the right of the screen instead of switching to the bottom of the screen to match the orientation. Am I missing something here? I know the o p was referencing the navigation bar but I have a similar issue with the icon dock in Nova Launcher.

When I first bought my Tab S4 I was annoyed when I found that the dock does not show at the bottom when the screen is in landscape mode. Instead it stays on the side. I finally found a post that solved this problem for me.
Your issue seems to be the reverse, so maybe the reverse of the solution I tried would work for you which is reducing the screen zoom in the Display settings in the main Settings page.
Good luck!

Question Full screen apps arghhhhh

Got the phone on Wednesday coming from a pixel 5. Must say what a great phone it is camera could be better but I'm sure with a few updates it will shine. Display and build quality spot on. One thing that does annoy me the most is the inability to force apps into full screen. Unless I'm missing something is there a way to force apps to full screen?
There's a way to remove the nav bar, but am too looking everywhere to hide the status bar. With Nova you can hide the status bar on the homescreen though.
