What screen protectors are you guys going with? I'll throw some links up for people to reference which ones are out there.
I'm debating which one I'm going to be going with, I'm really considering going with the GLAR.tR SLIM Premium by Spigen.

Was considering the tR SLIM, but decided it's too expensive to spend on one screen protector. The plastic ones work fine, the one I've got on my current phone has been perfect, no air bubbles or anything, so I think I'll stick with one of those.
I'm in the UK though, and the only Spigen plastic screen protector on Amazon or eBay I can find is the Crystal one, not Ultra Crystal or Steinheil or whatever it's called. Does anyone know what the difference is? Also has anyone in the UK got a recommendation for a plastic screen protector for the N5 from a known brand, not one of the cheap eBay ones?

Ultra-Crystal Steinheil from Spigen since it came with the case from Spigen I got off Amazon. I'll share my thoughts once I get it, it's due to come in the same day as my phone(which should be September 7th).
I have the ultra clear on my n4 and had it on my gs3. I love them, and have already ordered the ultra for my n5.
I am thinking about a glas.t though.

Not too long ago, Stack Social did a group buy of sorts for the nee iphone 5.
The deal was for:
iPhone 5S / 5 Case Tough Armor Protection Kit
FOR PROTECTION KIT 1
Screen Protector GLAS.t Slim - $29.99
FOR PROTECTION KIT 2
Screen Protector Steinheil [Ultra Crystal] - $13.99
Select Color
Smooth Black
All for the amazingly low price of $36.99
This would be great if they could do the same for the Nexus 5. I really like that GLAS.t.R and would love it on the N5. I ride a lot on my bike and stuff it in the back pocket of my jersey as well as putting the phones i have in my pocket. I dont want the screen scratched. I dont care how good Gorilla Glass 3 is, I know through daily use I'm sure I would end up scratching it.
I've been using Nexus 4 w/o a protector since the beginning, zero scratches here.
I keep my phone in a leather pouch.

You don't buy screen protectors for scratch protection as much as you do for minimizing the visibility of fingerprints. The N4 screen requires constant cleaning without it.

I have noticed that screen protectors do help this more than one might assume.
Do these come with a cut out for the light sensor on the right? I bought some cheap ones for my N4 and I had to cut the corner off for the sensor to work properly.
I orderd the glastr tempered glass protector. I have one on my Note 3, and it makes the screen feel like there is nothing on it (just as smooth as regular glass screen) whereas a plastic protecter is never a smooth.
I've used the Xtremeguard on 3 of my devices. It is a wet-application protector. I've found them to be quite good!
Currently, you get 80% off when you use the SPOOK80 coupon code on their website.
Just ordered the Spigen SGP Glas.tr screen protector.
I'm definitely, eventually, going to get the GLAS.tR SLIM Premium Tempered Glass screen protector. Once it goes on sale for less than $30, that is
Is it really worth it to spend $30 for a glass screen protector or is this just for a peace of mind?

No finger drag from friction, oleophobic coating, and actual impact protection. I've never understood the mentality of, "Hey, I'm not going to spend more than $3 to protect the glass screen of this $400-800 device! That's too damned much!"
What is the difference between the GLAS.tR and the GLAS.t?

Higher-rated hardness for scratch resistance and rounded edges on the protector itself to make it fit better with cases.
I have the zagg protector on mine just because they were the only ones available today in the shop and I have used them in the past

Glas.tR has rounded edges for a better feel on the device better impact dissipation both are rated at 8-9h hardness. The Glas.tR is also about 0.16mm thicker than the Glas.t so it will marginally make your device heavier otherwise the two are the same.
more information on the Spigen website. personally i'm going to wait til i see a review on one over the other but right now im leaning towards the Glas.tR
hope this helps.

I bought 3 different types in total. illumishield gives me 0 problem.
+1 on Illumishield.
XtremeGuard on mine, went on almost flawlessly for a wet install. Really great protection, great prices, I even have one on my DNA!
Is the illumishield better than the spigen? And Tempered glass is it really worth it?
zagg has wet apply projectors for us now. they are the best I have used so far. I have an I blason on the way to try out and I'm using the horrible Asus protector right now. :-\ tempted to put a zagg on top of an iblason haha
edit: In a moment of mental incapacity I had installed the Asus protector improperly so I should give it more credit though mine did come with a dented edge and these are not my preferred style they are probably OK for most people.

Is the iblason tempered glass really worth the 20$ plus shipping?
I'm using the SUPCASE Ultra Clear Series and it is such a tight fit on the tablet you wouldn't even know it was there (ZERO room for error when aligning, but very forgiving on re-positioning too). The only thing that makes it stand out is the single cutout for the front camera. Two pack on Amazon was around 10$ with free prime 2 day shipping. Best deal I've found
Edit: From reading the packaging, they claim that the screen protector is a tight 0.3mm fit on the tablet.

for me yes it is, i love tempered glass screen protectors. i have one for my note 2 as well.
if you have used other screen protectors, like zagg/ect, and like them, it might not be worth it to you. ive never liked zagg/ect over tempered glass protectors.
luckily i got mine for $20 shipped($15+$5), so i saved $5 at least before they raised the price.
The i-blason is definitely worth it. You get the 1 year warranty against pretty much anything including scratches and bubbles. I already had to use it due to a spot on my protector that refuses to lay flat on my screen. I just sent them a picture of the area and they sent a replacement out straight away. Great customer service.

I hate wet apply screen protectors. They always have a tacky feel and they are never flawless.
I'm using the Official Asus ones and they're nice but they must have some issues at the factory. I've been through 2 now and both have had dents that cause it to raise and bubble. My second one is at the bottom and small, so Im keeping it.
The Spigen is very high quality and considered the best. Amazon had these for $12 which is a steal. I never used the glass ones but I'd imagine they would be closer to a natural feel compared to plastic ones.
I prefer the Matte ones myself. The only matte one that seemed like quality is the Official Asus ones. I bought another brand of Mattes (3pack) that have 3 cutouts and reportedly horrible from Amazon for super cheap ($3 shipped) to use as backup.
I would agree with post #2. The Supcase SP looked very nice too.
Use the hinge method when installing quality protectors because the cut leaves no room for error. I use painters tape on the sides for a hinge. Rip and squeegee.

I've used Spigen Ultra Clear on my old Galaxy S2 and my family's Galaxy S4s. I use Rearth Ringbo Ultra Clear on my old Nexus 7, Nexus 4, and new Nexus 7. I don't really much of a difference (or feel) between both brands. The Rearth one gives you 3 for about $5 on Amazon. Pretty cheap, works just as great, and it doesn't leave a residue like some other cheap brands.
EDIT: Just wanted to point out, both Spigen and Rearth SP has a hardness of 3H. Getting scratches on both will be pretty normal due to the hardness of the material. Unavoidable, but better that than your actual glass (which I think has a hardness of 8H).
Is iblason the only company right now that makes a tempered glass screen protector for the new nexus 7? Just wondering since shipping it to Canada is like 40$ all together and i don't think its worth it
I use Ghost Armor on all of my devices! They haven't been available for the N7 FHD, but I checked tonight and they finally are! Ordered tonight, so I should receive it next week. Can't wait!! They are tyne best option in my opinion!!

There's been high praise for the Spigen glass protectors so I ordered the GLAS.t SLIM. I think the cheaper of the two should provide enough protection as I generally take care of my phones pretty well. The lower profile of the GLAS.t seemed better for me although the rounded corners of the GLAS.tR would have been nice.
I've used cheaper anti-glare film screen protectors in the past, and they worked but didn't last long due to normal wear and tear, so I'm hoping this glass screen protector goes the distance. I hate applying new screen protectors =/
Edit: As for the recommendations, I would NOT advise Clarivue anti-glare. It works well initially but diminishes screen quality and the anti-glare coating wears out quickly in higher-use areas like where the keyboard is. Went through three in the past year.
If you're in Canada, they are now fulfilled by amazon.ca, that means free shipping! http://www.amazon.ca/SPIGEN-Protect...id=1383316041&sr=1-12&keywords=spigen+nexus+5
I'm really interested in getting the glass.t or glass.tr protectors. However, one thing that has always worried me about tempered glass protectors is the possible space between the screen and the protector.
Since glass protectors are not flexible, but the protector and actual screen must be perfectly flat or there will be bubbles due to points of non-contact between the two. Does anyone have experience applying one, and do they fit well together or are there problems?
EDIT: Also, would these protectors work with the Spigen cases or would the extra thickness cause a problem?
Anyone got theirs yet? I'm thinking of getting the GLAS.t Slim since I'd prefer the thinner one.
I'm wondering if the upper lip on the Spigen cases will actually cover the edges of the protector or if there will be a gap. Since I'm planning to use it in combination with a case, if the case covers the edges of the protector I can't see any advantage of the GLAS.tR Slim.
I've also read some other glass protectors have a grid of dots on them. I think this would really annoy me. Do the Spigen protectors have this?
Do they affect viewing angles at all?
Finally, is a cracked or shatter glass protector likely to scratch up the screen? They are of similar hardness...
Thanks.
I turst Spigen
I have not tried the tempered glass on Nexus 5, but I would trust Spigen products all time, they are getting very positive review on Amazon as well, so I would say go for it and I believe they have the money back guarantee, so why to worry

I have the Sir Lancelot Armor-Holy Grail for my N4. I have tried them all. First off stay away from Clarivue and Maru, both are just not good.
Haven't tried any others since SLA and ILoome(which have GREAT customer service!) on my N4, so I hope the Spigen can play well with the hybrid case!
The Spigen site recommends using a case along with their GLAS products, so I'm going to assume they fit cases (or at least Spigen cases) just fine.

I've heard this from some people as well. I personally will keep my phone without a case or a bumper at the most, so I can't speak from experience. If it's a wet application screen protector, it's probably much more likely that it will curl off since those tend to extend to the edges of the screen.
Here's what is on the Spigen site:
As this is a glass product, please note that the edges of the glass are the most vulnerable areas. We highly recommend that you use a case along with your GLAS.t SLIM to avoid chipping or cracking the edges of your GLAS.t SLIM

I believe the point of the tR is precisely to be used without a case (the tR product page doesn't have the paragraph about using it with a case to protect the edges). So if you're going to use a case, get the t, if not you should get the tR.
I used the glas TR with my work iphone, and they're fantastic. Very durable and they almost feel better than the naked screen. I have one on order for the N5, but not sure if ill put it on right away. You can't go wrong with one of these though, well worth the money if you are looking for long lasting screen protection.
From Spigen's website:
GLAS.T - Our first and original GLAS.t screen protector. Made of real tempered glass and premium silicone adhesive. It is about 0.4mm thick.
GLAS.tR - The "R" stands for rounded. This glass protector has beveled edges to to help prevent chipping on the edges of the glass. Recommended for users that are not using a case or a minimal case design. About 0.55mm thick.
GLAS.T Slim - We've made our popular GLAS.t even slimmer. Same concept and material as our GLAS.t, but it ranges from 0.23-0.26mm depending on the product.
GLAS.tR Slim - Also the rounded version of the GLAS.t Slim. The thickness is about 0.4mm

I'm having some trouble with the GLAS.tR. I just installed it, and the bottom left corner is not sticking, and there is a spot that's not sticking on the right side of the headset speaker. I'm trying to leave some weight on top of it and see if that will fix it.

same here! I have three rather large "bubbles" (though thankfully none are on the screen), one of which is in the bottom left corner. When I apply pressure, it reduces to a tiny bubble, but after about a minute, it will have expanded again. I tried putting a textbook on top overnight, but this morning when i lifted the book, it just grew back in a minute.
If it doesn't fix itself in another 24 hour, I'm going to call Spigen.
I want to buy a tempered glass screen for N5 within a week or two. But I can't decide between :
1)Mime Ghost Glass or Feather Glass
2)Glass-M tempered glass
3)Nillkin tempered glass
4)SPIGEN GLAS
Currently, I am slightly inclined towards Mime(read good reviews). I heard that SPIGEN GLAS has some issues and the fix can take a while. I guess that is out of my option. My Requirements are : a) the touch should work fine b) no bubbles c)should work fine with a case.
Can you please suggest me which one to buy?
Thanks in advance,

I just received my Nillkin protector. I'm hoping to install it tonight so I will try to post some pictures for you. My first impressions are that the packaging is great and the camera protector (not glass) seems great. The kit for installation is pretty good too. Can't wait to install it.
If it turns out to be rubbish I'll plump for a MIME one. Everyone speaks very highly of them.

I had the (defective) Spigen GLAS.tr, and am still waiting for that replacement.
Applied the MIME Ghost last night and I can say that it's one of the best glass protectors I've ever used in terms of feel, rounded edges, adhesion (even after a couple of pull-offs and re-applications, to get rid of specks with scotch tape), and so forth.
Put it this way - I have a replacement Spigen on the way at some point, as well as a pair of the Nillkin units - but I just finished ordering another MIME Ghost in case something happens to this one.
Think about orzly glass screen protector, put mine about a week ago flawlessly, no bubbles, very good touch and feeling response, cut out are perfect
And is laminated glass, a thin plastic sheet coupled with glass, same as car windscreen, don't know if other are laminated or tempered glass

Yes I do. I have the spigen hybrid case. Overall I'm smitten with the look and feel of tempered glass. The case is a fingerprint magnet unfortunately. Best of luck with everyone who ordered tempered glass. Its well worth it IMO.
Does anyone have any photos of MIME, Nilkin, Glass-M? (I have Spigen GLAS.tr which has a lifted corner)
But I heard that Spigen GLAS nano's are coming out soon.
Is anyone as annoyed as me with Spigel's absolutely ridiculous line of product and naming choices? No clarity between feature, functionality, what's what, etc. Add in the Amazon factor and it's pure chaos. They might have the best cases, but they need some serious help in business management. If I ran their company, I'd have addressed this immediately.
Anecdotally, I'm nowhere near the first confused person. Someone much smarter than I (which, really, is most people) found their offerings wildly confusing and simply ordered one of everything before deciding to return all but the one which suited him best. I did the same given their complete inanity.

I got the defective Spigen glass and just received nillkin tempered glass and installed it about an hour ago.
It seems good overall and unlike Spigen glass, it has a cut out for the proximity sensor.
there are small bubbles with nillkin protector and I am hoping it would disappear by tomorrow.
I've always loved spigen's protectors, but this time it was a big NO NO.
I mentioned this on another thread but my Orzly after 5days of use was scratched quite a bit. I've no idea how as it only sat in my pocket.
I have a Nilikin on order but I'm currently using a £5 'helicopter blade coating' protector I got on eBay and it's great, no Orange peel and you really couldn't tell it's there. Still like the glass protectors though so I'll go with the Nilikin when it arrives.

I bought one off ebay not too long ago. Anyway, its a quality tempered glass screen protector. Scratch free and no touch issues whatsoever. Long story short, for the most part they are most likely all the same.
Here's the one I purchased :
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Premium...l_Phone_Screen_Protectors&hash=item565ffcf158
Did yours match the size of the screen exactly? I bought one off ebay a few months ago, and it works fine but it's about 1mm shorter than the black area. I've sent mine in for the pink camera noise issue, and if I get it back with a bare screen I'd like to replace it with one that fits.
size
It's normal, that the protector is slightly smaller than the acutal screen. If they were spot on the same size, it would be almost impossible to put the protector on, without any air bubbles underneath it.
Brando Rounded Tempered Glass protector
I've had this... http://shop.brando.com/Brando-Works...Rounded-Edition-HTC-One-_p09083c1531d008.html on my phone for about 9 months. Not a mark on it and fits perfectly.
Bit more expensive than some, but it's 9H glass (Diamond is 10H!) & just watch the videos... They have a go at it with knives & a drill! (I've tried a knife myself ... Not a scratch!)
Worth a bit extra cash in my opinion.

It's normal, that the protector is slightly smaller than the acutal screen. If they were spot on the same size, it would be almost impossible to put the protector on, without any air bubbles underneath it.

The one I purchased fits the screen perfectly. Maybe a extremely small gap at the top but literally unnoticeable
I have the MIME ghost glass protector and love it! Does not have that sticky feel that PET protectors have, I'd never go back to plastic again.

Well, my One is back and the screen is nakies so it's time for a new screen protector. They must have replaced the screen, since it had a tiny hairline scratch when I sent it in and it's gone so I can't complain too much. Hopefully the new screen protector fits better than the last.
Mime Feather on mine and I love it.
Covers the screen perfectly and I had no trouble installing it. The only way you know it's there is because it's slightly raised above the phone (0.15mm, they say).
The iloome Flex is pretty good, I have one myself. It's easy to install, because it's flexible unlike other glass screen protectors and they also give you some tape if you want to use the hinge method. It's pretty hard (8H) and thin too.
revised review, now very negative about Mime

I have to revise my opinion of Mime and their products after having gone through 3 of them on the same phone.
1. The first one felt great initially. But it scratched much too easily for it to be 9H, so I am going to have to call BS on their hardness claim.
Mime offered to send me a new one and did after about a month.
2. The second one did not stick correctly, even though I installed it in exactly the same manner as the first one.
Mime offered to send me a new one, but they were out of stock in both Ghost Glass and Feather for this phone (M7). After several weeks, the Feather was finally available again but the discount code they sent did not work and there was a further delay while Mime sorted that out. Also the Feather model cost more so I had to pay an extra $3 US plus the coupon.
3. The unit I received after ordering the Feather did not appear to be glass. It was flexible and felt, looked and scratched just like a cheap plastic screen protector. I patiently waited because I assumed this was an interim unit to hold me over until the glass ones became available again. But when I contacted Mime they assured me that was the Feather and that Mime does not stock any plastic at all to fit the M7. So apparently the Feather is no better than plastic, but costs $30 US apiece shipped.
So I asked for a refund. Mime asked me to ship it back, which I did.
Mime received it 2 weeks ago and I have not heard from them despite multiple emails.
Terribly slow customer service all around, the products are ridiculously overpriced, I definitely would not buy again.
I apologize to anyone that bought Mime products after reading my review because my opinion of Mime and their products has certainly changed since then.
Initial quality felt good, but they do not last long enough to warrant the high price and the after sale support is also not worth the price.
I could have bought 6 of the Chinese cheapie tempered glass screen protectors + shipping and still had 5 left as I am still on the 1st one vs 3 Mime duds. This is what I have done on my S5 and it was better quality than the Mime for $4.
Don't waste your money on Mime.
initial observation is below:
I also use the Mime Ghost Glass and I really like it.
It measures .32mm. You can tell it's there if you are looking for it, but so far everyone I hand my phone to has not noticed it.
Mime also makes the Feather model, as mentioned by someone else, which measures .15mm thickness. I would have probably bought that if I had seen it before I bought the Ghost Glass. They are both rated at 9H hardness, but theoretically the thicker one should offer more protection.

Just ordered the one you suggested for $6.85. It's my first ever glass screen protector, hoping it will be a fun experience. From reviews on amazon, and I belive the one on ebay that the seller is selling, is the one made by PThink, judging from the same photos. The only complaint on the cheaper ones are that sometimes the edges don't seal down the the screen, and can cause bubbles. Still, I am excited.
Here is the link once again to buy, and at time of purchase is only $6.85 with free shipping.

Here are the reviews believed to have been the same glass protector. http://www.amazon.com/PThink-Ultra-...Q62/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?showViewpoints=1

I'm using Mime Feather model, very happy with it, and they have excellent customer service. Word of caution though, if you're planning to use it with HTC's Double Down case it won't work, that case presses on the edges of Mime glass and causes it to rise along the edges.
I bought this when my phone was new, and its is perfect!

I use the Mime Ghost glass screen with a UAG case. No issues with it at all. That combo works great.
is there one that can fit with the HTC Double Dip Hardshell? I'm looking for screen protector that can fit in that thing.

I've got UAG + Mime feather. Works great though a couple of days ago I actually chipped the edge of the feather glass and my phone. But that's because I'm an idiot and keep my keys+keyring-multitool and phone in the same pocket (hence why I have a case and protector)
Hi guys, please can you recommend the best screen protectors for the S8+... they have to be case friendly. :good:

I'm currently using Spigen Galaxy S8 Plus Screen Protector NeoFlex with the "TECH21 Evo Check" Case with no issues.
I tried almost all whats available in the market, you name it, i tried it (expect for the zagg sphhire, still waiting for it).. Glass and film, tried them all, and i can highly recommend the iq shield wet film, so far the only one that you almost can't see it there, and definitely case friendly (subject to you applying it at the right position as a millimeter makes all the difference).. Try it and you will see.. Spigen wet film will be my second option, only its a bit more visible after applying it and more finger print magnite..
Alllllll, and i mean alllllll glass screen protectors are worthless, i tried at least 10 brands, cheap and expensive, and non works or sticks well, and definitely non is case friendly, the once that are, you can clearly see the adhesive through the glass after applying it, and that makes it soooo ugly..
I've got a Caseology (Spigen Tough Armor) and a MoKo 9h glass protector and they aren't compatible.
BearMotion with icarez glass. Pretty good combo.

Is this the iq shield protector you are referring to? They have so many

I tried a Zagg Glass protector and it goes on very simple.. good coverage and touch resistance was fine.. Slipped the phone into a Spigen Neo Hybrid and the Zagg popped off.. So Not compatible at all..

Yes its
Yep, spigen tough armor and some tempered glass protectors aint compatible. Pushes up. Same thing for any other film protector for the tough armor. Pushes up on almost all i have tried. havent found one that works so im getting over this spigen tough armor.
I also have the IQ Shield case friendly and it works great with my 2 Supcase and Spigen Hybrid.
I bought this gel type screen protector, it fits flawlessly edge to edge and no bubbles or wrinkles! It's a wet install but it's so easy!

Awesome guys, thank you. :good:
I just ordered the iq one that was suggested. I have an otterbox defender so I'll see how it works with that case. From what I've read the glass protectors do not play nice with most cases.
I have the Ghost Armor wet film on my S8+ and think it's one of the better ones out there. I got a glass screen protector free with my purchase, but it is pretty terrible so I decided to go with a film one. And the Ghost Armor is case friendly.
I've got the GPEL glass screen protector with a spigen ultra hybrid case. No issues
I have the wet install skinomi case friendly protector.
It fits great and doesnt even look like its on there. Ive been using these since the note edge days.
They sell a 2pack for around $8 ship

Bought a spigen neo flex but its on b/o due to manufacturer flaw per seller.
In the mean time using one i got fro tmo and its fine except the edges that lift up and bubble.
Tested the Orzly TGSP with the Spigen Thin Fit, Rugged Armor and Orzly FlexiCase - worked with both the FlexiCase and Thin Fit, but NOT the Rugged Armor.
