Two links to sites about HTC official road maps plans for WM6 for HTC phones.
I am not sure though if these are t-mobiles roms for t-mobile bought dashes. I dont know much about roms so please some one elaborate.
WM6 T-mobile = May Everyone else = June
This makes sense since in the original press release Microsoft said T-Mobile will be the first operator to release WM6. This just means that the effective licensing dates are different, even if the phones with WM6 are made and shipped they can't be sold until the street date set by Microsoft.
The article says that HTC devices will be getting WM6 in APRIL not June. Or am I missing something?
HTC might be starting in June, but T-Mobile is starting sooner for the Dash...?
If you look at the pdf official announcement:
http://www.solopalmari.com/images/stories/007/04/WM6_statement_b_.pdf
You'll notice that in the body of the announcement it says:
"The upgrades will be rolled out from June, in line with our operator partners’ strategies."
BUT you'll also see that in the Additional Q's section it says:
"When will the upgrade be available?
The upgrades will be rolled out from April."
Which one is right??
release date
unbranded phones get the wm6 rom in april operator branded phones in june. they better start putting them out quick apr. is almost over.
Tentative Release Date for ROM Upgrade.
I spoke with an engineer at T-Mobile, and the official release is tentatively set for the week of May 4th. This is just for the ROM upgrade, not for the Dash preloaded with WM6.
Ok, so it appears some carriers have blocked the first update that does nothing to WP7.
To take a quote from WP7 support:
[Some Mobile Operators have the right to skip one update if they wish.
However, they can't skip the next one, which would be an acumulative update and would include the previous one.
So if your mobile operator decided to block this one, you will be getting the early March one (which will include the Feb one too)]
from Microsoft Windows Phone Forum
The concern is if they block an update that does nothing, what will they do in future?
So, lets try to isolate which ones havent updated yet - if you have a BRANDED handset that HAS OR HAS NOT been updated :
U
- name the Carrier/Branding, Handset Model and Country so others know.
As updates hit these phones, I will append the date of the update to the handset on the list.
No update
ATT LG Quantum
ATT Samsung Focus
ATT HTC Surround
T-Mobile HTC HD7 (US I assume)
T-Mobile Dell Venue Pro. (US I assume)
Telus LG Optimus 7
Telus HTC Surround
Orange HTC 7 Mozart
Orange (France)
SFR (France)
Telstra LG Optimus 7Q
Telstra HTC Mozart - UPDATE - Mid march maybe
Vodafone (Spanish) LG Optimus 7
Now released
O2 Branded HD7 Released 3/3
Vodafone Netherlands HTC 7 Trophy - Released 6/3
Vodafone (Australia) HTC Trophy - release - some other regions also 3/3
Optus - Released 3/3
Vodafone AU - released 3/3
There is also a list of carriers who are apparently confirmed to be pusing it out - but I would debate this to be totally accurate (as with the above list) as they too are sourcing their information from posts by people who may not necessarily know if their phone is Branded.

Vodafone HTC Trophy
Orange HTC 7 Mozart
I think there was an article somewhere stating that this update is being rolled out in steps to ensure that it goes out smoothly.
i think it is quite probable that MS is also sort of dipping its toe in the water before it dives in with the first proper update.

Of course this is possible, but then they go post things like:

Is it actually T-Mobile branded firmware?
No love for O2 Branded HD7
When I asked if TmoUSA was blocking the update, I got this response from WindowsPhoneSupport...
We don't have any information on that. If you still haven't received the update please be patient and check back later. ^EB

Thanks for that.
At this stage, I am just compliling a list of branded phones that have not been updated - as they get updated, I will ammend the list and append the date of the update next to the carrier.
I love that, Microsoft say they dont know if a carrier has blocked an update...

Well, in the support team's defense, they probably wouldn't be given that information, especially the Twitter branch of it... At least not this early. I think they're just tiering the updates, and maybe holding them off until they fix this Samsung issue...
Bass Ackwards
You need to compile a list of people that HAVE received the update, not people that have not: Microsoft directly said the first update would NOT be rolled out to everyone.
Also, what's the big deal ? It's just a pre-emptive update, not something that actually matters.

Actually, it has the first batch of OEM software updates, so it does matter.
I am monitoring the update thread for those that have.
Samsung Focus with AT&T here and still without an update. I wish there was another way to get them.
Neither me or my mate have received updates on our T-Mobile Samsung Omnia 7s

Sorry, I must have missed that: link please?

Does anyone have any clue of when the 6.0 update will arrive for the Australian m9, or even just an estimated like when the DevEd received the 5.1 and when the Australian M9 received it?

I think it'll be a month, worst case two. Vodafone has this software updates thread where they post details about any updates progress. They probably only received the update themselves late December when the DevEd received it and will test it prior to launching it. Hopefully the update doesn't have any issues.

I recently emailed htc uk to ask when the wwe version gets the update and the reply stated that there is no set date, certainly not in the immediate future. So there are 2 possibilities. 1, the update will not be in January. 2, 6.0 might get dropped completely and skipped straight to 6.0.1 as 6.0.1 is scheduled early 2016 and is an immediate bugfix for 6.0.
So, considering carriers are a couple of months later I'd put it at late 2nd quarter of 2016.
blah
Ok.
Had my S10+ Since last April and i am on March 2020 security updates Received an update every month amd Optus are useless at timely updates. The Huawei Mate 20pro didnt receive an update for 5 months after release with Optus.
So i am unsure what your update issue is, but i doubt it is Samsung.
I think he means Samsung has too many phones.
