[Q] network problem after rooting installing roms

The other day I took the plunge and decided to root my phone and install some ROMs. It was all going well until I started noticing that I wasn't able to make/receive calls or texts. I had gio pro 1.4 installed when I first noticed this problem and I had read that installing cyanogenmod 7.2 had helped someone with a similar issue so I installed it.
Now I have cnmod 7.2 installed with the same problem and with my carrier name changed from virgin to bell. If I restart my phone I am able to call and send messages for a few minutes but then craps out again.

unfortunately u are having the same issue as me you have to select use 2g only which is only good if you are on a network that supports 2g the nv data file become corrupt somehow and you lose 3g capability i am trying to figure away to fix the gio but to no avail right now

Actually I found out why I was having this problem recently. Turns out I have a different model of the gio (gt-5660M) . When I installed gio pro 1.4 I completely overwrote my stock firmware including the baseband so it screwed up my network settings. I had to find my stock firmware, flash it using Odin and then I just installed clockwork recovery and flashed cyanogenmod 7.2 using that. It's been fine working since then.

well atleast your lucky i restored my original software and it has the right modem when i do a network search it picks up the 3g networks just wont connect to them

Yes, I accidentally did the same to my GT-S5660M. What I did was reflashed the stock ROM and then rooted, installed CWM recovery, and flashed a custom ROM, being careful not to override the baseband. Thankfully the ROM I flashed used CWM recovery and not Odin, and I didn't have to worry about a thing.

[Q] Can't Flash to any ROM, not even Stock ROM

Hi, i have been trying to go back to Stock rom but the problem is that whenever i try to flash a custom rom or go back to stock, There wouldn't be any phone signal ( emergency calls only), Network state disconnected. Only the one i'm currently running reads my phone signal and actually runs smooth but had experienced some SOD's so need to switch to stock now ( X-Note) to see if the problem still persists. I searched everywhere but could't find anything, any help would be much appreciated and sorry for my ****ty english Thanks

have you tried calling in other kitkat roms???
If calling works on other roms then it is rom issue. if calling does not work on any other kitkat rom, then it is operator issue.
I am running this rom only. Thus far, no RIL related issue has occured.
Did you follow the right steps,i.e,did wipe data/factory reset,wipe cache partition,wipe dalvik cache???

yep...i've formated cashe, data, preload, system, dalvik .... same thing ....ran out of ideeas
under the "about phone" menu on "Phone network state" sais disconnected ....

Then I think you should try selecting your operator manually.

Flash modem file through odin.
Search the forums for instructions.
EDIT: Hmm.. if it is showing good signal, then issue might be something else. Check IMEI, if it isn't all 00000....

APN Setting as well.

The IMEI is good. Compared it with the one on the back of the phone ....
And btw ...when i select the network manually i get the confirmation massage "registered to the network" it shows full signal no matter the zone that i'am in and can't initiate or receive calls...
Should i mention that i had ALOT of 4.4.2 roms installed ...the problem started when i flashed your rom
I think the problem is related to the modem 'cause when i the flashed stock-based rom from BaliBoxer everything works like a charm...
Before opening this thread i've read all the posts from the RR rom and nobody else had the problem that i have ...
Maybe tomorrow ill' try to flash RR again now that the problem is fixed. IMO i have a good chance it will work ...
PS: this forum is a very nice and constructive community but the posting rule is RETARDED ....If i were able to post on the RR rom topic maybe some ppl that had the same issue as i had and didn't bother posting can come forward....

Searching for S4 Mini I9192 modem ??

Hello friends,
I tried to install some roms + kernels but now i lost my wifi connection , wifi button doesn't work at all. As i checked the threads in this forum mostly people are saying that i need to reflash my modem but i can not find my modem in internet nowhere.
Can somebody help me to find this modem ?

Build number : JDQ39.I9192XXUBML4

i have faced this problem brfore you so i understand you
first of all you should see what have you done. i think you changed your kernel or sth like that
solution:
try one of these methods
1. flash the stock kernel for your phone , you can search on the internet or download the stock rom and take out the boot.img file then compress it into .tar then flash it through odin
2.if that didnt solve the problem, yo have to restore modules, use the downloaded rom to take the following file: system/lib/modules/wifi.ko
take it and replace it with yours using root explorer then reboot

Actually modem shouldn't have anything to do with the WiFi. Try changing kernel

I was (as always) playing with my note ii flashing etc. Loved resurection rom which was working ok. BUT something happened and now i can hear the phone ringing ok when someone calls me BUT when anwsered i cant hear nothing ! Tried headphones no luck.. Flashed quite a few roms, modems and ril and the best result was ... No carrier...
Could this be hardware?software?
Anyway to completely return to stock mode eg modem.ril.rom etc flashing 100%? Tried flashing official rom with odin no luck..
Plz help...

it's an old bug, you need to select "unlock sound" in the sound settings and reboot the phone, if is active you need to turn off and turn on again than reboot.
