Recommended Dock from EBay

Hi There!
Has anyone got any experience with particular cradle/docks from Ebay?
Ideally I think I would like a horizontal dock, but can do portrait.

The "USB-Sync-Cradle-Dock-Charger-Samsung-i9100-Galaxy-S-2" on eBay. (Since I've posted so little, I'm not yet allowed to post links).
I bought one'o these. Don't expect much of it, but I think it'll do what it's supposed to. I just hope there's some anti-slip rubber feet on it, so the phone can be used while mounted. Droidstuff.se (swedish site) has a very nice, special made Android universal dock in black metal (which everybody knows us scandinavians are very good at! ). It's pretty expensive, though, and availability is scarce.

I still haven't gotten it yet (even though I ordered nearly 2 weeks ago)... I will let you know what I think if / when I get it.

When it arrives, I'd be interested to know whether it looks like it'd work with a case on

I ordered that ebay dock, it came pretty quick, its ok for the money, it doesnt give a snug cutom fit but does just fine, i might actually order a sceond one as you can charge it from your pc/laptop or hook in a wall charger.
It look like theres enough room to work with a case but im not a big fan of cases so im unable to tell.

Thinking of that one, looks pretty good and it also charges a separate battery at the same time, however not in stock yet any thoughts?

I'd really want my device lied horizontally. Comfortable while watching movies But no such a dock in the offing.

1 already bought this one, two days on ebay. I dont like it at all as the phone sites in it almost upright, there isnt enough of an angle on it to use the phone comfortably, the angle is just too steep.
If you don't mind the angle the build quality is good otherwise.

Isn't that the one that doesn't actually charge the phone, though?
It charges a separate battery, lying flat in the base. But the phone simply sits in the base. Seems mad to me.
Edit: Yup, doesn't charge the phone. More pictures here. Removed link as I wasn't sure if linking to a retailer was permitted. Is copying their images ok?

I remember having a very similar dock to that for the M2000 (htc blue angel), battery charged in the back, but you could plug a mini-usb cable in to charge the device as well.....

Just bought a similar one, hope it arrives soon to my country. Being used to connect my milestone to a dock is can't of weird now that i have the phone laying alone on the desk.

I'm waiting for the 1st dock. I'd rather get a samsung approved dock plus it looks well built and has line out and usb connection AND works in portrait/landscape.
Also eager about the car dock, until you linked this site I didn't know where to get the official Samsung one, so thanks man.

this is the same one I reviewed, too steep an angle, looks nice but uncomfortable to use.

[Q] Replacement Frame

I finally dropped my phone getting out of my car and dinged up the frame of the phone pretty bad. Since I'm OCD, I'd like to replace just the frame, nothing else got damaged and it looks like a simple replacement. Yet I can't find where to order the part from.
Does anyone have a link to order a frame (outer edge of the phone) or have done this themselves?

I say just put a $20 max bid in there (prolly won't get to $20). It's well worth it, and easy to replace. My soft case ($2 on ebay) fits just fine in my car dock....

I bought it not sure if I would like it but turned out to absolutely love it and it comes with an awesome holster too that I didn't think I would even use but now I wont leave home without it. The holster also provides allot of added protection since it covers the screen.

Hey all! I was looking around for a replacement frame/bezel myself due to my power button issues.
Just got mine in, and it's what its supposed to be Looks like the real deal, and not some knock off 3rd party part.

Nope. Unless it is a sleeve with some extra room they won't fit as the Note is larger.

No. The note (with the slot for the pen etc.) is a little larger.

I posted some pictures in the 'cases' thread (page 3). It doesn't cover the pen slot - there is a cut out that you can see in one of the pictures. It is a little awkward to take out, but the opening is there.

If I get the note (still waiting in Q&A to hear if anyone has had any luck with usb powered hard drives first) might get it, looks pretty decent, should protect things nicely. Appears to have the S-Pen slot uncovered I think, and has a loop for a spare S-Pen (which may be covering micro sd slot which doesn't bother as micro sd would be staying in tablet).
Only thing that puts me off is that the description is for the Nexus 7, hmmmmm.
Although for a little more is this blue one (also eBay) which at least has the description stating it's for the Note.

If he ships out Monday, it will definitely be there by then, Wed definitely for the Priority Mail option, Wed or Thur for the free, 1st Class Mail option.

At least this case has small little holes for the speakers but I have a feeling they are far too small to not muffle the audio.
I'm really enjoying my Note so far but it's been delegated to sitting at home most of the time due to not having a good case for it! I sure hope they sell that book cover soon because I really like that.
That Belkin looked pretty good too but no sale date yet.

Anyone know when the dock keyboard will be available?

[Q] Slide out keyboard & integrated case

I have a few of my users (yes IT manager here) asking if there is a physical keyboard for the s3 that is integrated with a case. They want the equivalent of this:

They all know that any bluetooth or keyboard can work with it, they just wanted an integrated version as they prefer a bulkier s3 vs separate items.

I've often wanted something like this when I need to answer a bunch of emails when I'm out and about. There are a bunch for iphones, but I've yet to see one to fit an Android device. It seems like if any phone would get one, the GSIII might. I've also wondered why nobody can seem to make the slider keyboard with an interchangeable TPU case to fit different models.

it's not really fit like the slider you mentioned though.

You know why you can't find one?
because it would make the camera useless, and severely diminish the speaker.
no-one has made a small enough keyboard to not cover them. the closest anyone has gotten is that computer generated render, in the previous posts that is not for sale.

What would seem more practical and allow use of everything is the keyboard folding down. When it is closed laying against the screen with a flap or something separating keyboard and screen. You works have a full keyboard and since Bluetooth the keyboard could be used with other phone with the same case. Any case makers watching here... do it live. I've thought about it for over a year. I also have a good idea for amplifying phone speakers with battery any bulk. It works to made myself one.

It probably will (the hinge) hold, got a case from ebay and it was daaamn tight, surprisingly, it is still holding pretty good.

The only concern I'd have about these is that they seem to just have a "soft" hinge (ie. just the material), so it probably wouldn't support itself. Something like this would be great though if it was a hard case (think Nintendo DS), as it would protect the screen when closed.

I hate physical keyboard that is soo old school. It's 2012 and we need to be up to date with technology.

Not a good answer, but you can get a simple OnTheGo USB cable, and plug any USB keyboard in. Handy if you are going to do a lot of work on the phone. Not that you would carry a USB keyboard around.

FYI ele-boat says it'll be available for purchase November 10th.

Agreed, why save $90-100 off the regular price of the tab this week, if you just tack it right back on with a case?!
Still, it DOES seem like a spiffy case. Am I right in that it's a two-part - you can take the cover part off if you wanted? The Cetizen page seems to indicate that you can!

There is now a pre-order case on Amazon for this tablet.
I just ordered mine last night for $279 on NewEgg w/a $30 coupon, so paid $249 out the door shipped.
Going to run the gamete of my usual app's on this and see if it bogs down like my GT 8.9" in my truck does.
If it doesn't then I will re-do my Dodge RAM tablet fabrication and this will be the one to use.
Any one know if that dock has an HDMI out, USB or Audio jack out port like the Galaxy Series usually have?

Looks like it's only a simple charging dock, as it's name says..

I really don't understand why any company would invest $$ in a dock w/o it being a charging dock or a media pass-through etc...
I mean this is built/sized specifically for this tablet right?

Well, in practice a TV out dock should by default have a Slimport adapter as part of its kit; I haven't seen any dock for any tablet incorporate a Slimport into it, so they probably just don't want to do it or don't see a market for it.
That said, if this dock is really just a pass-through, in practice you SHOULD be able to plug a slimport adapter into the dock and do your TV out that way. So for those who do want one, they'll have that option. Personally, I'm getting this tablet because I want to do my work demos on it so I will be needing a Slimport adapter, but I'll also have a case which pretty much negates the usefulness of a dock.
Back to the case thread, the one you linked to is not an official case but one of the others which has the issue of blocking the speakers when in stand mode. I'm hoping the official case, or a knockoff close enough to it, shows up on eBay on the cheaper side in the next few weeks...

Oh yeah, I didn't even notice the speakers are blocked.
This will still work for me though, I don't use it much out of my truck, I just remove when I'm out of it! LOL!
My Galaxy 7" 2nd gen, 7.7", 8.9" & 10.1" 1rst gen all work with an official OEM dock that has audio out, mini HDMI out and 30 pin to USB connector.
There are cheap knock off's that don't have the mini HDMI out option.
With this I'm able to connect to another monitor if I wanted but more importantly 30pin connector to USB would allow me to connect to a HU.

Was looking for the genuine LG case as well, seems like its on sale in hong kong for $258 (around £20).

Good find Sckc. Crazy how resourceful this community is. Took me long time to find what l little info I did. Keep up the good work! 100 internet points to the first person who finds a way to buy one of the genuine covers right now

That's not the LG genuine cover. That's the VOIA "Premium Standing Case" mentioned in the second post. You can tell from the "for GPad 8.3" branding on it.

Oh true. Didn't notice it at all does look exactly like the voia one. Anyway will probably get one of them in the meantime while waiting for LG to release the official case - what the heck is LG doing btw

Not a clue as to why LG hasn't released their own official case a month after the tablet came out. It makes no sense at all.
The VOIA case looks nice, but I'm not a fan of how it stands up.
