wile playing with my Gnex phone the following idea poped into my head;
would it not be handy to have the time displayed in the ICS navigation bar, replacing the homekey grafics but not the function...
then you can keep track of time while playing games of running any other fullscreen application where the notificationbar is hidden.
what do you guys think?
I like it

Funny, I just had the same thought and saw this thread.
I would love to see the clock be displayed in the nav bar and persistently. I think it would look sick.
Is this even possible? I wonder ...

It might be. I forgot which rom had this but you were able to put music controls (previous, forward, play/pause) in the navi bar so it might be possible

You're right, I totally forgot about the music control on the nav bar! Good catch

then the question remains, is there any developer that can make this or is already working on it?

Go request it for AOKP.
good ideas but i need power menu soft key can use soft key from power menu
>.> Ummm bump? I like this idea too. perhaps not limit it to time but serve as a ticker?
I.e, normally it shows time, but it will show notification icons somewhere and a swipe will reveal the notification centre?
EDIT: On the top of my mind... we probably could get a couple of apps/mods to get something similar:
* There are full screen mods
* GMD gesturecontrol works on Gnex last time I tried.I suppose you can assign swipes and gestures to mimic the navbar buttons
* Only thing I don't really get is how we'd get a clock or notification area to show permanently at the bottom. Perhaps there are some apps that do this, Notifierpro plus does notification.. not time though.
* Paranoid android tablet UI, hide/remove the nav bar buttons, and try to move the notification area to the centre. Something like that...
There is a ROM that has all the features you are looking for:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1729942
However the base is CM9. I hope it will be upgraded to JB soon. I use it since a month and I prefer it over any other ROM.

I think that this app is more simple to use and it's all i want
Just in case you prefer to keep stock notification bar and stock recent apps list, you can install my app:
GMD Hide Soft Keys
It was tested and works on Xperia Z :good:.

I know your app ...i posted many times in your topic...i like you app but you have to add the possibility to change the softkey distance and the possibility to change softkey's. png. And Sometimes the swipe to show the navbar don't work. But it's a very good start
Hi,
I'm looking for a mod or app that can force the nav bar to the right hand side of the screen when I go into landscape mode. Effectively I need it to stay where it is in portrait mode.
Not a big issue just annoying that so many pixels are wasted on the narrow dimension.
Thanks
Download the module Phab7 for Xposed Framework, it allows to move the nav bar !

While that works, it's not exactly ideal because it switches everything to the phone UI, including the notifications shade. Is there another way to force the nav bar to the right side without messing with anything else?

Bump. Anyone have any ideas?
i use the GMD auto hide soft key app, which shifts the nav bar always to the right hand side, when turning the tablet into landscape mode. you need to be rooted to use this. hope it helps, cheers

Awesome, thanks oXnoX, that's better than nothing! :victory:
It seams odd though that there's no app just to do the one thing by itself
Ben
I recently installed CM10.2 but I noticed the status bar can't be slided down like in the stock touchwiz rom, which I found very useful so you can check your battery and clock. Is there any way to activate this in CM??

Hello,
I have also installed the CM10.2 on my i9195. I do not encounter the same behavior.
When I slide done the bar, it work.... the behavior you might expect is:
- when you use ONE finger from the center of the top bar and you slide down, you are displayed the open notifications (you can swith to shortcut button [WIFI, Flight Mode, Sounds, Tethering (dis)activation buttons] clicking on the upper-right button).
- when you use ONE finger from the upper tight corner of the top bar and you slide down, you are displayed the shortcut buttons (you can swith to open notifications clicking on the upper-right button).
- when you use TWO fingers from the top bar, you directly go to the Shortcut buttons.
This will not help you solving your problem (sorry) but this can explain the new (misleading) behavior.
Best regards
Alex
Thanks I noticed that, but I mean when you are playing a game for example (which uses full screen) in stock ROM you could slide status bar down, but in CM you can't. So you have to press home to check. I don't know if I explain myself.

CM11 has this function.
Carbon ROM (CM 10.2) too, but it is currently not maintained.
On earlier Android versions I used this app.

Hey first off all my English is not good, but I try to explain what I want.
I'm searching for full Notification menu, I mean when I swipe from the top to the bottom the notification menu..
I made an update to 4.4.2 (it's rooted) but the notification menu is not full, only a piece of the screen. Is it possible to make it to a full screen again like it was in 4.3?
Thanks for the help in advice
Nobody knows what I mean?
Samsung moved away from the full screen notification panel. I don't know if there is a mod for it , haven't seen one.
