I buy my nexus 7 2 two weeks ago from US Google play store. After opening the camera 1st saw the reboot issue. Then it increases day by day. Then update all apps and OS but no change.
Then I root it, delete all Google Apps but still problem persist. Then go to CM but no solutions. Then revert back to factory image jss15q but no solution. Now during serving Internet, fb apps, or opening of any apps it reboots multiple time. Also reboots during movement of tabs in my hand or take it a flat surface it reboots automatically. I can't use this tab and I can't change this tab as I am now in Bangladesh. Pls pls
Give a solution.

After one month it had been away, a bunch of days ago I got my Galaxy Nexus back from the tech support (motherboard failure).
I proceeded to unroot it again and I installed ParanoidAndroid (6th March beta) since I was using that rom before it broke and flashed trinity on top of it. I noticed a peculiar behavior when trying to playback youtube videos (both in the app and in the browser): sometimes the request would just hang there and if I did anything like pressing the back button, the app would be found unresponsive by the operating system and the "youtube isn't responding. Ok|wait" message would appear. I just got back my Galaxy Nexus from mI just got back my Galaxy Nexus from mI just got back my Galaxy Nexus from m If in a boot session that happens, I get the same thing happening on several apps like twitch.tv and clock. I discovered that the clock app wasn't working properly last morning, when the alarm didn't go off and I kind of overslept to uni, it wasn't nice .
I tried flashing other roms and kernels combinations as well as factory resetting, fixing permissions, installing busybox, re-installing youtube, clearing caches of various apps.
Has anyone ever experienced something similar? Thank you.
up
I have one 2012 nexus 7 and a 2013 2nd gen Nexus 7.
They both experience the same problem. They both randomly freeze or lock up when going to a different screen. For example if I click a browser link in my gmail app, it will freeze. The only way I have found to fix this is to press the recent apps button twice and then it will un freeze and go to the browser.
It will do this on any application or setting. It does not do this all the time. It does this about 70% of the time, and other times the tablet switches screens without a problem.
Here is a video that I took that shows the problem. I used the setting screen as an example.
I have searched and found no answers to this problem. I have even tried different roms to no luck.
This is an example on the nexus 7 2012

Do you have the same apps installed on both? Might be worth uninstalling what's common and adding stuff until it breaks again.
That makes sense. I will try uninstalling or freezing apps and see if that fixes it.
Thanks
Any update? Don't remove a bunch of apps at the same time, do it one be one

Has anyome else recieved a stability update on the 8.4?
yes for the US SM-T320 8.4 but I'm getting random reboots. it was fine on the earlier version, never had any random reboots. I tried to factory reset after the update but still the same. it seems to do a soft random reboot when you are doing something on the tablet and you leave it idle for a few seconds. It never rebooted while I'm actively using it even if the load is high..

Mine says device modified, I am rooted - any workaround?
I'm currently uploading the new ND3 DeOdex ROM base now. (Tab Pro 8.4 Wi-Fi)
I will also upload the bootloader firmware (Odin flashable) too.
I managed to capture a logcat but I can't seem to identify the cause of reboots, can anyone assist with that pls...

TabPro 8.4 random restarts
Hello guys
So, it appears i am not alone then.
The school i work in as an IT tech, has purchased us 2 TabPro 8.4 tablets and the one i have has given me hell so far with these random reboots.
It has the latest update and is also rooted. It has nothing to do with the root i believe as it did it before and also after applying the latest OTA update. I have now factory reset it and noticed a slight difference in the home screen where i now have 2 pages (1 home screen of course) wheres, as far as i remember, when i first turned it on it only had 1. I may be wrong though.
I didn't sign in to any accounts yet (google, samsung dropbox etc.) and left it with Google chrome and Samsung own browser open. I suppose only time will tell now. It's really bloody frustrating though because i spent hours loading all my apps again and restoring app data via Helium etc.
Another thing i noticed is that even i after wiping the tablet via recovery (Wipe device/factory reset option) it actually kept root.
New device, issues gone
Got my replacement unit from John Lewis today (i must say their service is the best i have seen) and spent hours on the device rooting it and installing all the apps i had on my other unit.
I have not encountered one single reboot so far , whereas my previous unit restarted on me pretty much 30 minutes after i first turned it on.
My advice to you is if you are having stability issues and random restarts with your TabPro 8.4, send it back for a replacement.
I installed the update also and haven't had any issues or random reboots either. The screen sensitivity fixes are great. Huge difference.
I spoke too soon it seems. It did restart on me. Twice. Once whilst caching images on quickpic app and second time installing Samsung's own office suite of applications.

What is this? Stability or Instability update? Sammy, why?
anyone who doesn't suffer from Random reboots, are you rooted?
also those who suffer from reboots, are you all rooted?
My the Theory: I think this reboots are related to being rooted or have knox void.
Mine restarted before root but after I installed the OTA update. I since rooted it but it didn't change a thing obviously. God knows how many times it reboots a day. I leave it in airplane mode with a few apps running and after a couple of hours I notice that the apps that ran on the background are not there anymore so I figured out it restarted. is there anyway to uninstall the OTA update???

Stability update
Since reverting back to old version (and rooting the device again) i have suffered 0 random reboots. Looks like the latest update screws something up.

I have two 8.4's and they both boot when I wake them up. They are rooted with Xposed, but I uninstalled Xposed and tried one without it and it still boots at random. So IMO Xposed/root isn't causing the trouble.
See my other post... wonder if that'll fix this. I'd almost rather have the reboots over the screen sensitivity problem, but either way, the tabs aren't really usable.
Rich
I have used my tab pro 8.4 now for 5 days running on the old firmware rooted and with xposed running, without a single glitch. I'd strongly advise people to avoid updating the tablets to the latest ND3 firmware.

I purchased a tab pro 8.4 a few weeks ago and was noticing random reboots several times an hour. A couple of days later I got the update and didn't see any change in reboot behavior. Couldn't link it to anything at all as it happened before as well as after rooting and adding Xposed.
Changed to Average Joe's debloated (elsewhere in the forums) and have had zero random reboots since. Also running several exposed modules without any problems. Purely anecdotal, but it appears to have increased the overall responsiveness of the device while keeping most of the good things Samsung put on top of stock Android.
New update
Samsung released a new update to the TabPro 8.4 which is supposed to improve stability and add "Kids mode" (firmware version ending with NE3). I gave it a go and the random reboots got back! wiped my device clean and installed NAI firmware and all is well again!
Hey guys!
So just as the subject reads, the phone from time to time can't connect to my camera and I just get a black screen. Switching between the front and back when this happens triggers the error message and tells me to send a diagnostic report to Google. One of the things I tried was to force close the camera process and still nothing. Only fix is to reboot the phone, but eventually in a day or two the camera will crash again.
Just to rule out any kind of corruption, I wiped the phone to factory settings via recovery and the phone still behaves like this. One of the apps I noticed does not play well with the phone is snapchat (current beta). The app is super laggy and wondering if this could cause the camera overall to eventually crash. Any ideas or thoughts are welcome!
Overall I'm kind if disappointed with the performance of the phone over several days. Upon reboot its quick and over a day or two the phone gets pretty sluggish, even locking up at times for a few seconds without being able to do anything. Sometimes exiting an app and going to the main screen takes a solid 5 to 10 seconds.
Yeah the camera app is very, very bugging. Really hoping there'll be an update that fixes the problems with that and 3rd party cameras.

I though I was the only one, the camera takes forever to open and bogs the whole system down, I just the l got the security updates and no camera bugs were addressed

Actually that's exactly the way my Nexus 4 behaved, which was the main reason I had to replace it now. Hope 5X won't do that, or I'd be pretty pissed off. I thought it was a hardware issue, but now according to what you write I suspect this might relate to some application installed.
I'll add myself to the list. Sometimes It doesn't even make picture, just get stuck and does nothing for a while, then for whatever reason it start shooting a sequence of pointless picture. Many times it take 2 pics in a row, like a not asked, not wanted crappy pointless multishot
Camera was completely fine for me until I got an OTA update 2 days ago and now its completely dog ****. Freezes for a while when I open the app, and crashes if I turn the phone to landscape.
I just rooted my phone and camera stopped working. Reset to default did nothing.
I'm on B29K. Do I need to downgrade?

How exactly did you root? And if you flashed a modified boot.img, which one fid you flash? Also, what does "reset to default" mean? Does this mean that you flashed the factory image for MMB29K?

Hi, so I recently bought a Note 2 from Swappa, the seller had rooted it and Installed the JEDI X2 rom on it. after I recieved it I installed Xposed and all of its modules I like(CrappaLinks, DisableFlagSecure, Enable Camera on lockscreen, Force fast scroll, No Increasing Ringtone, NoSafeVolumeWarning, Notification Mod, Play Store link in app info, XGPM, Youtube AdAway). After that I installed all of my apps from the play store, got a wallpaper, ETC. A few days later I received my 9300Mah battery.
2 Days after receiving the battery my phone randomly started crashing and going to the "Samsung GALAXY Note II" screen, and proceeding to boot up just normal. Then do it again in a couple minutes.
I decided that maybe one of my weird apps might be doing it, so I uninstalled all of my weird apps, Still crashed. Next I looked online for a few hours and no one else has had an issue like this, They all have the issue of it wont boot.
Anyone have any suggestions? If not I will be flashing a different ROM on it to see if that does anything.
If you have any questions please ask, I will be checking on this post...
P.S. all of the apps i have downloaded on the Note 2 were on my old S3 and I never had issues with my S3(S3 was rooted with different Custom ROM)

Have you tried the original battery again? Maybe the 9300 is bad.
Delete your cache and dalvik, the boot up with the new battery. If you can, charge the battery to 100 percent, then use battery calibration so the phone will recognize the new battery type
