I am looking for a mod that enables the negative colors mode on "X" number of home button clicks or long press menu key etc... I know there is a kernel out there but I would like this to work on AOSP roms. Any help is appreciated.

I found that you can do this from the terminal as root by typing: echo 1 > /sys/class/mdnie/mdnie/negative
How can I do this as a script or as a toggle via multi or long press hardware buttons so that it sends a 1 if its 0 and a 0 if its 1?

my rom is mighty rom impact (wm6.5.3), whose top bar is quite narrow than that in other roms with os wm6.5, which makes it harder to press the top bar to activate the notification manager when there is a notification.
so i'm wondering if there is anyway to make a short of notification manager or relate it to a hard key? like double click the back key to show the nofitications?
any reply would be appreciated.

You should be able to set up a command and link it to a button.
Is there a way to disable the buttons on the S4 and enable onscreen navigation like on the Nexus devices? The physical buttons is the only thing keeping me from getting the S4.
idk about disabling the buttons but you can disable the lights on the keys and then do a easy build prop tweak to get on screen navigation
I've seen a few requests for this. Why do folks want to give up the screen real estate to add this? Not hating, just genuinely curious.

Should definitly use the Q&A forum for this question or change the title to "please move" so an admin will correct it for you.

Quick answer is gravitybox. Root >> xposed>> gravitybox.
Good luck. Welcome to XDA

Incorrect. What ALL users need to do, is use the "report post" functionality, so we are notified of an issue. We cannot possibly hope to read every thread, every day, and changing the title like that is no guarantee at all that we will handle it in any timely manner.
As it is, moving to the correct board...

I seem unable to rebind hardware home button to other functions.
For example, long press or double tap home button -> open app switcher, doesn't stick.
Not sure if this changed after I added back button to kill in dev options.

Working on it to fix it.

is it possible to obtain the following quality of life features without rooting?
data traffic monitor shown on top of status bar (live download/upload speeds when using data)
long press / hold back button to force close an app
when screen is off, long press/hold power button to turn on torch/flashlight
when screen is on, long press/hold power button to bring up options for screenshot, turning phone off, or restarting the phone
an option to auto expand the quick settings panel when the swipe down is performed towards the right side of the phone
if so what apps/settings would I need and change to go about it?
If I need to root, what things would I need once rooted (i have N986B)?

Options for after rooting?
I'm interested in rooting my SM-N986B, but I'm having trouble on how to go about getting the features I want after rooting. In the past, I've rooted my phones and eventually used a combination of xposed modules and gravitybox to obtain the...
