[Q][ISSUE]Media Player problems - Zooper Widget General

Hello.
I have two problems during creating media player nased on this tutorial:
1.
You’ll notice that I mentioned 4 bitmaps earlier (Previous, Next, Play and Pause), however there are only 3 control bitmaps in the widget. There is a little trick that you can apply that will allow you to swap out bitmaps depending on a certain MU variable. I leave this with you as a challenge.

Sorry, i am not so smart. How to make play/pause button with replacing icons?
2. I am already using “Now Playing” player and zooper buttons working well (findig this player as my top one) but for cover art and track/artist info i still have displayed data from samsung music player or google player.
After run MU i choosing Now Playing. Reason is that my default player cannot be Now Playing (cant choose this one on my device)?
My device: Galaxy Note 2.
Thanks for answer in adwance.

It's a simple variable expression to switch symbols(play/pause for example).
Create a bitmap for a play button and in the "advanced parameters" section add this variable:
$#TMU_ISPLAYING#=1?[bo]0[/bo]$
Now create another bitmap, this time for your pause button. Add this variable for the advanced parameters:
$#TMU_ISPLAYING#=0?[bo]0[/bo]$
What this does is lowers the opacity of each object depending on what state the widget is in(playing or paused). Make sure your pause bitmap is above your play button in the module manager stack.
As for other issues, what player are you using to play music? You have to make sure Media Utilities supports your music app of choice. Open Music Utilities and go to settings. Make sure you've enabled it to work with Zooper and all other widget utilities, and also make sure to add your media player in the media apps if you haven't done so already. I only use Spotify, Google Play Music and GoneMAD Music Player and it works for all 3 of those apps.

Bugs/niggles with the built-in Music player

There is no way to *append* or *enqueue* songs to the Now Playing list, so you must create a playlist which will then lets you append - but not whilst it's playing - you must re-load the playlist (and possibly lose your place if you decided in the middle of the list that you wanted to extend it with another few albums). This is no major problem, since you can re-queue and navigate to where you were...
HOWEVER:
Once in the playlist screen when you choose "Add songs" from the Menu button and then choose the Artist - it displays *all* the artist's songs alphabetically (!) Very odd behaviour. Why doesn't it show you their respective albums as it does do if you choose to queue up a single album without first going into the playlist?
Sure you can add an album directly by going to the *albums* screen (from within the playlist), but it won't tell you who they're recorded by, so with a very large connection you simply have to know who your albums are by if you can't make out the thumbnail album cover...
Secondly, and most annoying of all is that if you choose to add songs to the playlist straight from the artist/album screen without first going into the playlist and choosing "add songs", it queues the albums' tracks in alphabetical *not* track order. All my tracks are MP3s and have clean v1 and v2 ID3 tags (with embedded album art) so I know they're not at fault - especially since if you add the albums from within the playlist, it orders them correctly.
Are these problems HTC's or Androids responsibility? It's difficult to tell if the player itself is a Sense app or native Android one with Sense mods since the Desire is my first foray into the Android OS.
I've tried almost every other highly rated free player in the market - MixZing, Museek, Vanilla, MortPlayer, Meridian, Cubed and they all either share some of the above behaviour or are just plain ugly and/or counter-intuitive.
The actual look/function of the built-in Music player is clean, simple and running in native resolution with no silly coverflow/3D effects - just regular browsing which I like, together with the excellent iPod Touch/iPhone-esque "drag/drop to reorder songs" feature, and I love the lockscreen widget (although its response time is sluggish to say the least when pausing a track).
The only other player I've found that allows proper enqueuing (it even gives the choice to append to the end or insert into the middle - thumbs up) and correct album/artist browsing and track ordering is Museek, but its interface is frankly pretty ugly and simply not as clean/efficient as the Desire's own - plus it lacks the lock-screen widget.
Does anyone know of any other (if only there were an Android version of IMO the very best Linux-based player - Amarok v1.4), or if there are rumblings of any of these "features" of the Desire's player being fixed?
Who should I be reporting to for bugfixes/feature requests (Android or HTC)?

Making Other Music Players Default

Hello There, As im exploring The Captivates Somewhat good OS Tweaks of the Phone, Some people May Download better music players, Now the android music player definetly isn't the best one:/ So if you hate having to go ALL THE WAY to that one certain music app heres how to make The Original music player go to your Other Music Player So I was annoyed for days because the default music player was automatically popping up or playing instead of ZPlayer in my case. I could not find a exact answer online so with some determination I figured it out my self and hope this will help out someone else.
1st you want to go to your settings- click applications- manage applications
Click the All applications list, now go to every music player in your app list including your default one make sure the play by default button is not checked, if it is checked clear it. Then be sure that your force quit them all.
2nd now setting default player is not in the settings which is why its so annoying to figure out. Your phone comes with a folder called " My Files" if you haven't gotten rid of that, open that folder and find a music file and when you try to play it from there a choose player window will pop up. Now BEFORE You choose the player you want as your default click the checkbox first will have green checkmark. Then choose what player u want as your default from the list and its set.
To verify go back to settings click applications- manage applications- all applications scroll to the music player u set as default and the box at the bottom should now be checked as your default music player.

It`s great! thx!
I've been thinking about switching back to Play Music or ubermusic, but the default Samsung one plays nice with the lockscreen and that's just too convenient.

VLC or Winamp won't play (music) in the background?

Hi,
I'm simply trying to find a solution for background playback with a quality dedicated media player like VLC or Winamp. For playing mp3s. On my rooted stock 4.2.2 Gnex.
Both VLC and Winamp say they have background playback, but I don't see anything in the settings addressing it, so I assume it's the default behaviour for them both.
Yet when I start playing an mp3 opened from my file explorer, then press home screen to multitask and do something else while the music is playing, the music stops - then resumes when I go to the VLC/Winamp multitask entry again.
What gives? What's the problem that's happening? Is it some OS memory behaviour issue? How can I force VLC or Winamp to keep running in the background when minimising it?
Thanks for your help.
Hm, never had that problem with Winamp, but I would not count on VLC being able to do that as it is still a very, VERY early beta.
Fixed
Step 1: Open "System" by going to Settings
Step 2: Now that you are in "System", scroll down to "Default Apps"
Step 3: Look for the title Music Player and right click on it, once you've done that you will see a list of apps that pop up, now choose your default app you want, in this case choose "VLC for Windows Store".

Is there a way to change the "system" music player (used by intent)

Hey guys,
Currently using the Hellkat ROM but I had the same "issue" with JediMindTrick.
Issue is, even though I set Poweramp as the default music player in Android, some apps withe the option to launch music still uses the ROM stock music player when using such an option.
Example, Apollo is the stock music player in the Hellkat rom and after installing Poweramp I set it as my default music player. But when I select the music icon from within the Runkeeper app, it launches Apollo instead of my default player.
I searched for quite a few hours today and found some information related to "intent". I'm not a DEV some bare with my ignorance but tis apparently a way for devs to link to a stock app from their application.
So since Runkeeper and other such apps aren't giving the choice of which app to use when selecting the music icon and start the stock music app instead, I was wondering if there was a way to change the "stock" music app, by editing a conf file or something...?
Thanks!
Download an app to remove system apps from the play store and remove the offending app. It will usually clear the defaults if it's properly uninstalled and you can then set your default music player to your preferred one.
go to settings >> apps and get app info for the stock music player. clear the defaults and see if that works.
if not you can download titanium bavkup pro from the pla store and delete the default player so your phone has no choice but to use your preferred music app.

question about stock music player

so i have a question, and this may be an ignorant one... apologies...
so the stock music player for Note 4/3/S4/S5 (basically the same as far as im concerned)...
there is an option under the menu button to add tracks to the "now playing" list. every time i go through and add songs to the list it never plays that song(s) next. It's like it just ignores that i added songs to the now playing list.
just a little background here...
so i start up the music player and go through the "tracks" and select one to start playing. (also i keep the player on shuffle), while listening to the track i hit the menu button and select "add to now playing", it takes me to the "tracks" screen where i select 1 or more tracks and hit "done".
So now i am thinking that after it finishes the current song that it should kick over to one of the ones i just added to the list, right? WRONG... it just shuffles to something else in the "tracks" list, the "tracks" list being the 1 big list of all the tracks on the phone.
am i doing something wrong? or is this meant to be used another way or what?
any answer is appreciated.

First make sure you have all of your music correctly organized in a neat folder structure in "Music" folder on your internal or external sdcard. What you do is go inside your "Music" folder and create folders for each and every artist. Inside each artists' folder you want to have a separate folder for each individual album. Name the album folder correctly. Inside each album you will have all the mp3's along with the album art which needs to be named "AlbumArt.jpg" (or other compatible method). Even if you have random tracks and not the entire album, you still need to use the folder structure so that the music player can do the task you want. This should do the trick. songs in a specific album folder will be able to shuffle and your track list should play the songs you put in the now playing list. This is my only suggestion for your problem. Give it a try if you haven't done this already.
I appreciate your help, but f**k that lol. That would take forever. I will just keep ignoring that feature. Haha.
But thank you for the reply, I appreciate it
When working with mp3's the folder structure is crucial for media devices to be able to sort and display tracks correctly. Organization is key here. When making an mp3 cd or DVD, the same thing applies. You have to do this or fumbling to fing a specific song or album is gonna take a long time fumbling through one giant pile of mp3's in one single directory. I like things simple and organized and thats how mp3's need to be done. You might want to get on board with the program or youll always be fighting the system lol.
