I've been trying to troubleshoot why the MHL adapter isn't working with the VZW Galaxy Nexus. FYI I have a Monoprice MHL adapter. My issue was with streaming video; youtube, netflix, revision3, etc. But could include any access over the internet. Whenever I'm trying to stream video, it flickers. There are no issues browsing the home screen, apps, playing games or viewing pictures through MHL.
From what I observed it appears to be an issue with LTE. Not sure if it is the internal radio or the frequency that it runs on. Here is what I tried.
I first turned on wifi and connected to my wifi network via the MHL adapter and it was working, no flickering issues. I then turned off wifi and LTE, and stayed only on CDMA and connected the phone to the MHL adapter and it also removed the flicker. I came to the conclusion that it is an LTE issue.
I'm not sure if anyone else can confirm this, but it has worked for me on the VZW Galaxy Nexus.
Hi, I have an HTC One X and it has a really poor wifi connection! If Im not in the room with the router it hardly works! The route is in the bedroom but I want to use the HTC Media link on my TV in the front room but as teh wifi is so low it keeps disconnecting and hardly works...
Would something like this work?
TP Link TL-WR702N 150Mbps Wireless N Nano Router
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006PYGWG6/ref=nosim/?tag=hotukdeals-21
Would I just plug that box in the front room and it wouls strengthen the signal there?
I have a PS3 in that room there too? Notice that there is a repeater option... Would this work when the PS3 is on stand by?

Yeah it would work, but you'd need ethernet into it from the other router. I just bought an old wifi router from the local car boot for £1-2 and used powerline adaptors to bridge my two floor gap as ethernet would have been more expensive and required a serious amount of work to route it nicely, stupid house!
Would it not worth just plugged in the back of the ps3 ?

Is no one having Wi-Fi issues with this stick on this board?
There are 500+ complaints here
I couldn't even set up this stick on a Linksys ddwrt router.
I have 15 active clients connected not one of them had this many problems
I tried changing Wi-Fi channels rebooting multiple times, even set an open vap. It also seemed to drop the lease from my cable modem had to reboot everything. I'm only 10 feet from my ap.
I finally did get it "connected with problems"but menus sorta half load if they even load at all.
Anyone? Replace or refund?
Mine seems to work well with weak 2.4ghz signals. But it has severe issues even with strong 5ghz signals. bummer but it'll do

Try config your 5ghz WiFi signal to use a 20Mhz band instead of the wide 40Mhz band (if your router support this) then I think you will solve your WiFi problem with the Fire TV stick, the Fire TV square don't have this problem

My FTV never seems to catch the 5GHz signal (20MHz band) or it is very intermittent. It is not very far from the router (my iPhone catches it fine, even if it is further away). In a bizarre twist, when I connect to 2.4, it will show that one as having a very weak signal, but the 5 signal would show as very strong (while still connected to 2.4). So, then if I connect to the 5 signal, it will show the 5 as very weak and the suddenly 2.4 will show as strong (while connected to 5). And I can play that game with FTV all day long. Thankfully, I am wired using powerline adapters.
I have a ASUS 1900AC running DD-WRT.
Nope no 5 GHz router here.
I'm still running an original Linksys v4 ddwrt. It's been rock solid since I picked it up at a thrift store for $4/w PS.
I did manage to get it working pretty reliably.
I wrapped it loosely with about a foot of aluminum wire and zip tied it up instead of letting it hang. Whether the wire does anything or not.... It works
I have a few other android tv sticks, I know they usually have weak Wi-Fi, but this one would not even connect.
Installed kodi,addons,launcher hacks.....
Ran it all night without issues, actually runs kodi very well, so far so good.
I'm impressed with the kodi performance, runs as good, maybe better than my 808B+
Now? How do I run setup without an amazon account.
Mr.Rellik1000 I Can Really Use Your Help!!
Hey all I posted about my wifi problem before, I have V30N D855 32 gb rooted G3, I have 2 routers at home, which my phone connects to them only when am lik 1-2 meters away from the router, otherwise I get "Saved" under the network name, not talking about wifi in public where I just end up with "Saved" all the time,
I am wondering if someone knows where is the Antenna Cable is located inside the phone itself? maybe it's an antenna cable issue that I just need to screw to get better wifi
thanks
Not sure where it is, but see if you can find one of the many teardown videos on YouTube, they show every part in the phone. I had the same problem with my iPod Touch 4g, it stays connected once it gets on but you have to be close to connect it. It does sound like a hardware issue, but the part should be pretty cheap on eBay.
I have the Shield TV and an 802.11 AC router (NetGear Nighthawk X4 R7500v2). I would much prefer to connect directly via Ethernet, but unfortunately, it's not an option due to the room configuration. I believe the Shield TV is connecting only to 802.11n. I have tried both the 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands. Any advice? Thanks much in advance.

Not a problem, sorry it was so short, but I was heading to bed. I don't understand why this section is so quiet on XDA.
Powerline is pretty awesome, and all of the different manufacturers seem to use the same standard so you can mix and match units. We've used it for years for gaming when my son visits at the back of the house, and for printers and other accessories. If you have a single family home, it is particularly good. I hard wire almost everything in my house, makes the wifi more stable too.

What you need is this:
https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Pass...sr=8-5&keywords=tp-link+powerline+starter+kit
It will let you access your ethernet ports thru the powerlines. I use these everywhere in my home.

This is the one I was considering... You think the TP-Link is a better option (for reasons other than the speed, of course)?
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MTNKNPZ/ref=psdc_1194444_t2_B0173CGWFY
I got the 8030, it's good and fast even my house wiring is quit bad. Previous I own a tplink av500set that also very good.
You will get about 300-500mbps, on pair with mid range 11n router
P.s. smallnetbuilder have some review of power line, take a look and find the most suitable for you

Well it may be fine, I just like names I know. However this would answer your wifi problem.
One last question. Is there an extension code I can use that will not have a negative impact on the signal or performance at all?
It should be noted that powerline adapters are only as good as the wiring in your home, and that the signal integrity suffers massive degradation if there is a high power draw thru the same lines the adapter is using. They can work wonders but they are not the be-all end-all for-sure solution. JFYI.
Well, I ordered some. Guess we'll see how it goes. Not a new house. So, who knows....

You cannot use these with power strips at all, but I've never tried with an extension cord.

No, I mean which power strip do you use that works fine with it? I have a TP-Link too....so, I figure I should be able to use the same one you have...
