The RandomROM is a LEGENDARY Line of ROMs made by me Dr. Globbyglob. I wish to have a corporation, but no-one is volunteering anyway,
so there you have it. These ROMs have all the features of a Sense ROM (soon going to do CyanogenMod etc.)
and bloated stuff such as widgets, ringtones etc. to keep all the WICKED features and
also have RETURDED speeds and performance. I spent ages on this port so it
comes to you bugfree. THIS ROM HAS CURRENTLY GOT ROM MANAGER OTA
SUPPORT, BUT SOON IT WILL CHANGE TO GOO.IM WHEN I FIND THE UPLOAD BUTTON.
Code:
[COLOR="Red"]I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE for what happens to
you such as a nuclear poopoo landing on you, your bollocks shrinking
or something else utterly random or retarded happening okay? If
anything does and you blame me, I will simply laugh at you
and embarrass you for being such a retard.[/COLOR]

How long did it take on the first boot? I tried and waited like 30-45 min and it was stuck on the htc one (white screen) and adb did not report any device attached.

Hey bradley, u need to flash desire z kernel with this rom. Because the kernel that this rom is shipped is a DHD kernel. That's the reason you aren't able to boot.
I had flashed the HUSHI kernel by neo2SHYAlien, just after flashing randomROM V1.0.1.
And eventually it booted.

Globbyglob, the visonew.zip you provided still didnt got flashed.
May be you have to check the updater script....
And he meant the jar file from the framework.
I'm sorry i dont have much knowledge about framework-res.apk, cant help you out.
You should probably PM "the android manual" about it, he may help you in it.
And without that DZ drivers and files in those visonew.zip, probably most of the bugs wont be cleared.
I had thought to manually push those files in it, but there wasn't any file manager.
Thought to download, but the virtual keyboard didn't pop up while in messages, browser or in signing up in google.
Even the physical keyboard wasn't able to fetch numeric buttons.
So try to figure out the problem in that vision.zip
Far from PC, so cant help you even in that too.

To fix the orientation and keyboard problems you need to apply a fix in android.policy.jar in framework. Take a look at my answer from September last year In this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1608464
It will explain how to fix the problem Completely and also how to get backlight working.

I'm running RandomROM in my desire Z.

Here's the link...
http://www.4shared.com/zip/HrgaZexq/updating_vision_drivers.html
But i had some problems with built.prop that you had provided in vision.zip.
So i have edited built.prop from main rom and just names of desire hd as desire z and ace to vision. And settings section such as cpu, ram, camera details.
Thats it, no more changes were made.
Thats still yours only.
You can post this url, on the OP.

-Flash the rom (deselect reboot)
-flash updating_vision_drivers.zip
-Flash hushi kernel or any sense kernel. (I prefer hushi kernel.) Credits to neo2SHYAlien for the hushi kernel.
Or else
-flash the rom (deselect reboot)
-flash kernel
-After full setup of rom, reboot to recovery and flash updating_vision_drivers.zip

It's More than Tablet/Phablet Mode or Build Prop Tweaks
PER-APP-DPI/LAYOUT. This is not tablet mode! Hybrid engine allows you to target apps individually. You get to pick their actual layouts which can tranform content drastically. Keep in mind, this has nothing to do with build.prop hacks or DPI changes. We list all layouts an app brings, you choose one, its as easy as that. It does not matter if your device runs itself in Phone-, Phablet or Tablet-UI, your apps will always look as you like. On top of that you can scale apps, to fit your screen, that way you can even bring full fledged tablet apps and make them run perfectly. Nothing will break, nothing will shrink, your market will be fine. Additionally we have rewritten many parts of the android framework and fixed countless of AOSP bugs to make way for these modifications - our "tablet mode" runs better on a phone than on a real tablet, that is guaranteed.
PER-APP-COLOR, Paranoidandroids newest invention. Define apps in your regular hybrid panel. See your phone fade into the color definition of your current app, press home or go elsewhere and it fades back. Create as many combinations you like, you can even dabble with opacity. This feature is made possible by our hybrid engine, which is unique to this rom.
FOR JB BOOTLOADER ONLY!
Make sure you have a stable recovery installed, i recommend TWRP, if you must, CWM
Let it make a full backup, should anything happen you'll be safe, IF UPDATING BACKUP PREFS FROM PAPREFS!
RECOVERY: FACTORY RESET IF YOU WERE USING ANOTHER ROM!
RECOVERY: Install Rom: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0ByVfzzD831QiLUdIdndaUVVBdjQ
RECOVERY: Install Gapps, ALWAYS-EVEN FOR UPDATES: Download (find the latest one that carries the "jb" tag)

If you have an issue and you want to call our attention, here's what you do:
1. Try everything you can, find solutions for yourself. Wipe caches, revert all your settings you have made, go back to your stock Kernel, factory reset if you have to or reflash the rom. Assume that the issue is on your side and try your best to isolate it.
2. Search this thread and Cyanogenmods aswell (its our base) for possible reoccurences of your issue and hopefully solutions that may have come up.
3. If you think the issue is important enough that we should cease our work and look into it, post your issue, BUT ...
... stay friendly, do not demand anything, do not threaten
... explain your issue as precise as you can, name the exact apps and conditions that cause trouble, help us to replicate the issue right away. If we can't there's no way we can fix it and your post will simply clutter the thread
... collect evidence, keep in mind this is a developer thread so even if you are not one, do us the favor and research how to record logcat. logcat is the single most important help you can give us to resolve your issue.

A small workaround if you really need gps:
adb shell su
glgps -c /system/etc/gps/gpsconfig.xml&
Turn off and on GPS in settings, then it will work.
You have to do this every reboot - I'll investigate further why it doesn't work because this same exact command is ran at boot.

Get Regular Mouse Cursor Mode WITH Gestures(From Tf700t):https://docs.google.com/open?id=0ByVfzzD831QibUpDUXFkWDFzX1E for those of you who miss the stock cursor mode, and hate that ring like me just flash this zip in recovery
If you want untermensch's overclocked cyanogenmod kernel DO NOT flash the zip in his thread, this will break paprefs and you won't be able to set perapp colours, layout, dpi or change the interface(the core features of this rom). instead, I have created my own zip from his kernel. it is the same kernel, same funtionality but I just removed the symlinks and permissions from his update script that broke paprefs. https://docs.google.com/open?id=0ByVfzzD831QiNUxPNnpTOXhUajg

Good to have PA here but need GPS. Will give it a try then.

Yes built from cm10 from Nov 1st, jelly bean bootloader only, I don't know why your getting that issue...I got that when flashing kernels after using arch on the tf300t but no issues with this zip no matter how many times I flash .... and I have the nexus pictures because I used the post from the nexus as explanation until I feel ambitious enough to Photoshop my own tf300t screenshots to look as cool as theirs works great for me on my tf300 and hope it works for everyone else! I'm working on GPS and the colour currently, will post as soon as I fix it but my time is limited as I am a student

Flashed this about hour ago, no problems so far,'cept of course gps as noted. Going to t'restore some my apps/data and keep playing.
Haven't ever messed with the app/dpi before, that'll be next.
Thanks and glad to see some new roms popping up....

GPS is an issue inherited from CM10, but I read this on the CM10 thread, thanks to XpLoDWilD, will add to OP
XpLoDWilD said:
A small workaround if you really need gps:
adb shell su
glgps -c /system/etc/gps/gpsconfig.xml&
Turn off and on GPS in settings, then it will work.
You have to do this every reboot - I'll investigate further why it doesn't work because this same exact command is ran at boot.

I had it ported before that thread went up(a couple hours but still) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1970012, had it posted in another thread and just made it a separate thread, I checked out the other zip and it was missing some functionality that mine was to i figured I would share my port, i tried his zip before I posted mine and found it had some density issues so I posted mine

[ROM][kernel]new hboot sense 4.0.3

First off let me say, I am not responsible for any damage this may cause to your phone you are flashing at YOUR OWN RISK.
that being said, this is a cooked ROM of the newest hboot on Virgin Mobile, it includes a kernel that you will need to fast boot flash.
features
deodexed
zip aligned
includes all sense 4 skins from HTC hub.
includes root browser free and go backup.
I may update this ROM if I feel the need, of course it would only be to add widgets and HTC apps from my old wildfire s that can't be found here.
only use if you are stuck on the newest hboot, my sister and I have both tested it and she's been using it for the past month.
IMPORTANT UPDATE
I had trouble uploading the complete but I have added a kernel download that should boot any sense backup or rom based on stock. remember to flash at your own risk.
if you wanna report bugs or anything feel free.

demi_fiend.... I'm not sure if this information is worth posting a new thread so I'm posting it here.
I personally am on the updated hboot1.57 and radio .0928.
I have also personally tested all Sense ROMs in the CDMA thread with the OTA hboot and radio.
This is my conclusion.
THEY ALL WORK!!!.
All you have to do is keep the original ( stock ) kernel. DO NOT FASTBOOT FLASH..... Everything works except WiFi.
Here's how to fix that. Make a copy of the WiFi modules in your stock ROM. You can find them in /system/lib/modules.
Save the copy some where on your sdcard. Now pick the SENCE ROM of your liking and flash it in recovery. Boot the ROM and install a root explorer of your choice. Now open the root explorer, find the modules and copy them, carry them to /system/lib/modules and paste. Now refresh the page where you paysted them and set the permissions to rw-r-r- on all 4 the modules that you pasted and reboot.
Now every thing in the SENSE ROM that you flashed should work just like it would on the old radio
Only thing that you can't do is over clock
Because of the stock kernel.
Hopefully this helps the guys/girls now on the OTA updated hboot and radio

Simon posted a kernel in this thread that supports the new hboot+radio and I assume/hope also would support overclocking. The one he posted is for AOSP-based ROMs, but I have updated it per his instructions so that it should work with Sense-based ones. Only thing I am unsure of at the moment is what modules would be needed (stock ones from the RUU or the ones from the old Sick v0.6 file). If I can find that out I can upload a zip that would have the updated kernel and flash the modules in recovery.
I'm sure you would need modules from the OTA stock ROM . Not the ones from the older radio.
There is no RUU for the OTA hboot/radio.
I have the modules if you would like a copy

Yeah I just noticed I missed the "patch" folder when checking for updates to them in the FOTA zip file :silly:
Well here's the updated boot.img if you wanna give it a shot. It is currently untested so I would highly recommend having a backup of a known working one on standby.
EDIT: Removed as WiFi isn't working.
Will try in a few

Yes sir. Those modules (OTA stock updated hboot and radio) and modules in jmz's and modules in simons' 0.6 .... None fixed WiFi

Well that sucks. Now I wonder if there's a difference in the RAMDISK used? I used the one from boot.img in the FOTA with the new hboot, but I wonder if I use the one from Simon's v0.6 it would yield a different result.

Ok got a new attempt. I am not sure if all 4 of the module files are needed or just the 1 that I have. I included the module inside the kernel ramdisk so you might (hopefully) not need to copy the modules. However, in case you do, I have the module attached in a flashable zip. Let me know your results and if you had to copy any (or all) of the modules.
Got them........ Will test today....there is a big difference in size. The stock OTA boot img is 4.0mb and the one downloaded is 2.9mb..... Don't know if it makes a difference. But I will try once I get to a computer @ work

AOCP 6
Android Open Collective Project
This ROM was ported from the Xperia Neo forums. It has been created by arch_saiful. I just ported this amazing work so we can enjoy it's rich experience on our device. I have briefly tested the ROM on my device and found out great performance and speed. The ROM must be extremely stable and has big performance potential. I share it as a beta. It's good for everyday use but you are testing it as a beta in the current stage. Please test and report bugs so I can improve the ROM and bring it to it's fully optimal potential on our device. It is based on CM10.1 compiled for the Xperia Neo V. It has been succesfully ported today to our device. The ROM uses Coderzs 3.0.62 kernel (Thanks ).

BUGS / NOTES
- You have to install to internal memory, apps 2 sd doesn't work, its a kernel issue
Do this to install to internal memory all the time
> Install Rom toolbox from the Play Store
> Open it and press apps2sd
> Pick internal storage
> This works for some reason.... I don't even know, it just did.
- No headset overheat (Thanks to coderzs)
- Kernel is a bit outdated and unstable, but I'll update it with a newer one later (People help me out by flashing kernels and tell me if wifi works)
- You have to flash that supersu package for root rights
- Battery life is decently good.
- Should be fast and smooth
This Includes ...Awesome...'s AwesomeBeats v5 premium
- Awesome Beats is working, execpt I dunno what happened to the equalizer lol.
- You have to activate the Beats though
> To activate
>Go to terminal
> Type "su"
> Type "sysrw"
> Type "awesome"
> After the Awesome Picture text or whatever shows up, Reboot
> Enjoyyyy
- HOPEFULLY Everyone enjoys this!
KERNELS!
I think this is the .58 kernel, someone try it please --> http://goo.gl/NflO9f ---> Random Reboots
This is coderzs .61 kernel --> http://goo.gl/70fk4i ---> Phone and other things keep crashing + Wifi doesnt work.
I dunno if any of these are flashable, I tried making them into a flashable zip but havent tried cause I suck
TESTING THINGYS
Someone open up the rom, then delete the "boot.img"
Then paste this boot.img there --> http://goo.gl/hpt9Ub
Then re-flash the rom. If it boots up YAY!
If it does boot up, then tell me if wifi works. If yes, then every single thing works on this rom. If not then, I gotta keep messing aroud
Looks pretty good!!!
Can someone test out the battery life. The guy who ported this to the dhd said after 2 days of light usage he was still at 75

The .61 has no headset heat, it has no apps to SD problems like the .62
And it also doesn't have the screen brightness issue. You can try and replace it by swapping boot.imgs with Team Infernos ShenduOS ROM.

Sorry only for Boot Manager loop now. See description of Install, need Boot Manager to be installed first. You can Install stock or other under native and my rom under loop, there are many rom for Boot Manager in its thread.
I'm gonna wait for a "normal" version, I really don't wanna mess up with boot manager.

don't have many time to build and test now, maybe this weekend. sorry for that.
PS. Why not use boot manager? I always install stock rom in native and test rom in loop, so if there are any error found on test rom I can switch back to stock rom when I'm outside and can't flash the rom immediately. I think it is safe that won't miss any call or something I must use my phone to do. Anyway it is your choice.
