[Q] NOTE 2 - Flashing for LTE - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

I just picked up a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (model: SGH-T889V) from my local WIND Mobile carrier in Canada as a backup device. To my knowledge, this is the same variant which is used by T-Mobile. I'm told the device hardware supports LTE but since WIND Mobile is not a premium carrier, Samsung has crippled this feature.
I have a Note 3 and after unlocking the device, I was able to use chainfire's method for ROOTING the device, installing TWRP recovery and then flashing with the Telus Mobility ROM (as all Canadian Note 3 devices are the same variant: SM-N900W8).
My concern is I am new to ROOTING/FLASHING and have searched the forums but am looking for concrete advice so I do not end up bricking my device. I am currently running Android 4.1.2 (stock from WIND at day of purchase) and when I go into the regional carrier settings, I do not see the regional code for Telus (TLS). I did see this on my Note 3 but I did not look until after unlocking and rooting so maybe it will not display until the proper ROM is loaded.
My questions are:
1) Can I use the same version of ODIN I have downloaded when ROOTING/FLASHING my Note 3?
2) Can I flash the same version of TWRP I did for my Note 3 or is TWRP device dependent? If I need a new version, could someone post a link for my model: SGH-T889V?
3) Can I flash the Telus ROM for their Note 2 variant (like I did my Note 3) or will this brick my device? If not, what ROM can I flash so I have LTE capability?
With my Note 3, it was straight forward! All I did was ROOT, FLASH TWRP recovery, install the Telus SM-N900W8 ROM, enable the regional setting for TLS and voila, I had LTE. I'm going to assume it's a little more difficult with the Note 2 but answering my questions and the guidance you provide would be much appreciated and help in my process. Thanks!

[Q] N7100 with an LTE firmware ?

Greetings,
4 days ago I got my Note 2, brand new from a greek Vodafone.
I checked my stock firmware prior to rooting, flashing etc, and it was a JRO03xx ALIJ.
I could not find any firmware like this on any gsm model.
Is it possible that I have an LTE hardware model and branded as a GSM N7100 ??
I asked samsung and they said that if it says N7100 then N7100 it is...
Not possible.

[Q] How to determine which note 8.0

I just bought the ATT Note 8.0 LTE SGH i467 and want to root it so I can remove the crap att put on it. Now looking in the root information I see it wants to know whether its an n5100 n5110. I have the ATT Note 8.0 lte which in about tells me its the SGH i467. How do I find the N number for the device? If I read correctly from the root toolkit here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2251033.
Can someone point me to the correct root procedure for this device. I have looked through these forums and am coming up blank.
TIA
I don't think anyone has found a way to root the i467 yet. The N5120 is the international note 8 with lte, but I'm not sure if selecting the 5120 in the toolkit will work for your i467.

Hi!
I'll watch this thread because I plan to buy one i467m from Bell and want to make sure that we will be able to root it!
Seems that it is slow to see some developements from developpers... Is it because it still too much a new product?

I have rooted this phone, flashed TWRP Recovery and Flashed an unlock zip package which modified the baseband frequency of the phone with sprint. This modded unlock package is suppose to allow using the phone outside the USA...is for blacklisted phone of this post ONLY. But I haven't left the USA to test it yet. I return to Yucatan, Mexico in 5 days and will update this post...
If it works, contact me and I can direct you.
:good:
I hope to see if I can unlock. Any event notify them. Likewise if you manage to direct me how to do it please

Hi I have a few questions about using a phone made for another neterwork (att) on tmo

Well in short I have an At&t Model GS4 the i337 its currently unlocked running on stock Nj4 and of course want to root it. First of all i suspect i need to use t mobile roms now that i am on that network.
Here is a list of questions and links are also appreciated as answers anything that helps!
First and foremost how should i root this (my last device was a G3) so if things are different please tell me also, I their an app or a thread you can point me to.
Secondly how do i update it to a v5.1 or the latest so updating them rom later is not a problem if i must use odin to do this (i want to use the latest to use odin the least)
Lastly anyone who can give directions on how to root and get to the latest version of android i wold greatly appreciate the time anyone spend to respond to this this post i TYIA
So any links that will work work with NJ4 I would be so happy I have only experience with the G3 I feel i know what to do with it but the Gs4 is new to me and i appreciate any help i receive/
Thank yo for reading this and TYIA for responding thank you for your help i hope its as simple as someone posting some links so i can do this easy i again thanks for leading me through the fog and TIA
@BeatnikBandit :
Basically, you're in the wrong forum. You'll need to get support fir the ATT version i337 over in the forum for that model. I used to have one, actually. I sold it on Swappa and got a T-Mo M919 S4 so that I could take advantage of all the AOSP ROMs for the M919. At least as of a year ago, there was no way to unlock the boot loader on the i337 and the only ROMs available for it were basically just skins on the TouchWiz kernel. ROMs, such as they were, used something called SafeStrap. Not sure if things have changed for that device in the year since I gave it up.
You can only use ROMs made for your model. So, even if the locked boot loader weren't an issue with the i337, its hardware is different from the Verizon or T-Mo variants. Using a ROM for a different model will give problems. On the T-Mo M919, there's a bit of an exception in that we're hardware comparable to the international variant, so we can often use ROMs for that one (9505 I think). Oh, and the M919 never got an official lollipop upgrade from T-mo before they gave up on it, so there are some issues with using LolliPop ROMs on the M919.
I'm sorry I can't help you with how to root, but presumably you will find that answer over in the i337 forum.
As for using the i337 on T-Mo, that should be easy enough. Just go in and enter the APN information for T-Mo (probably is in the T-Mo forum somewhere) in place of the ATT APN info and you should be good to go, presuming your phone is SIM-unlocked. Instructions on SIM-unlocking it should be in the ATT i337 forum, if you're not already unlocked. For example, when I got my M919, all I had to do to get it to work on ATT was enter the APN info from ATT, and BOOM I was on the network. I bought a pre-SIM-unlocked phone to avoid having to unlock it myself.
I hope this is at least a little helpful even if it's not all the answers you were hoping for.

[HOW TO] Flash U1 firmware on F device... is it possible?

So hello guys! I just bought a used Galaxy S9 after almost 3 years with my iPhone 7. I'm so happy to be back with Android since my phone before iP7 was the Galaxy S5. But unfortunately it was locked to a carrier in the Philippines (cause I'm from here so it's Globe locked). I've done some rooting and stuff with my S5 before and flashing firmware so doing this again might need some familiarizing.
I've done some slight research and somehow I didn't find any, or maybe I wasn't looking hard enough. There were different versions of the G960 but the one I easily familiarized with was the U and U1 which were the locked and unlocked versions...
Is it possible to unlock my phone by flashing a firmware? My model number is SM-G960F btw... thanks guys!

do not flash the U1 firmware on a G960F device! Teh F devices have the Exynos processor and the U versions have the snapdragon and are therefore incompatible regarding firmwares. The G960F is the international unlocked version. Go into the settings and factory reset it from within the operating system, download the latest G960F using the frija or samfirm tool with the modified Odin for your desired cell provider. Standard Odin will likely give you errors
