[Q] Clockworkmod charging issue - HTC One X

Hi,
As I'm tired of waiting for Orange UK to release the 4.2.2 / Sense 5 update for the HTC One X I recently flashed the Maximus HD ROM. Before I flashed this I flashed the latest Clockworkmod recovery (5.8.4.0) and everything seemed OK. However, when I switched my phone off that night and plugged it in to charge it powered itself on at some point in the night. I tried it again the next day, this time at work where I could watch it, and sure enough it powered itself on when charging (not immediately - it came on when it was at about 89%) then when I switched it back off and plugged it back in it powered itself on a few minutes later.
Is this a known bug with Clockworkmod? Does the same thing happen with TWRP? I always switch my phone off at night when I go to bed (please, no replies with "don't switch your phone off" etc.) and this behaviour drove me crazy, so I eventually went back to the stock Orange build - as soon as I removed Clockworkmod from my phone the rebooting issue disappeared.
Any advice / guidance other than "don't switch it off" etc. gratefully received!

[Q] IceColdSandwich does Reboot instead of Shutdown

Hello,
today I flashed IceColdSandwich 7.0 on my DHD and when I want to shut my phone down it always does a restart. Anyone knows a fix for this?
cheers,
z3xi0n
not sure, but you're probably more likely to get an answer on the support thread for that rom. here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24364406
Sounds like a clock problem. Strange, I know.
Deselect the time auto-update, and change the time and date to something random.
Turn off, pull the battery before it restarts and leave for a few mins.
Battery back in and restart, reselect time auto update and you should be good to go.
Sent from The App that Time Forgot.
Tried your advice twice, phone reboots again and again ^^ Any other solutions? ^^
cheers ;D
I've been having the same issue since installing 7.x on my device. It got so frustrating that I restored a 6.x image via recovery, but unfortunately the problem still exists. The phone never restarted on shutdown previously, so I'm a bit confused as to what is causing the problem.
I did flash Touch Recovery recently, so might go back to ClockWorkMod Recovery to see if that helps.

Help: hard bricked from Stock Rom?

Hello,
I ran into some serious problems with my OneX about an hour ago...
here's my problem:
I flashed Ice Cold Jelly about a week ago with the provided boot.img. Everything worked fine until now. My Phone started to not turn back on after I turned off the screen so I turned it off using the 8sec powerbutton. After this it booted up and after around 5 mins the same thing happenend again.
So I wanted to go back to stock with a cwm recovery img I made just before I flashed the ICJ-Rom. I booted into the bootloader > fastboot and flashed the stock boot.img via the OneX AIO kit. After that I went into the cwm recovery and restored my stock rom.
The phone was plugged into the Pc during the whole process!
After the recovery finished I rebooted the phone and the stock boot animation greeted me so I plugged it off the Pc and just as I wanted to type in my pin the touchscreen didn't react. As I tried to figure out what happened the auto-lock kicked in and turned the screen off. Tried to turn it on again but it failed. Tried to power it off and on again pressing power for 8sec and rebooting it but no response.
Now I'm sitting here with my OneX which does not react to any button, is not recognized by the Pc and no powerLED when I plug it into the Pc or wall.
Some further information:
power was at 70% when I started
Cid is HTC__002
hboot was 0.95 (I'm not sure about that but it was before v 1.0)
Security was S on
I'm really helpless and a bit afraid right now... so if anyone could help me it would be just awesome!
Atm it's plugged into the wall, as I read in some other threads that after several hours this might help reviving it.
Thanks for any help!

Okay, did you flash the ruu's stock boot.img and system recovery the relock the bootloader before flashing the ruu?
---------- Post added at 02:37 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:24 AM ----------
sorry i misread it. You flashed a backup of your stock rom and flashed the boot.img. i would recommend trying to flash the original ruu if youre getting errors. The fails to turn it on sounds like it out of battery. If you can find the thread there is a batch file you can run to start it charging through your pc

I hope that's the problem, but I can't imagine my phone using up 70% of the battery plus the usb hub power in about half an hour.
...this all seems to me like there's a hardware fail (which I really don't want to) as the system booted and then crashed into brick mode.
I'm not home tonight but the phone is on usb and tomorrow I'll try the tool and report my findings
Edit:
Ok, the phone spent 6 hours plugged into the pc and until now it was plugged into the wall but nothing. It seems to be completely dead -.-
Tried the batch file but there's nothing much to try when I can't even get into fastboot. The phone simply won't react to anything...
I will send it back as it's only about a month old and hope the warranty will fix it.
There is a stock rom with stock kernel on it so I hope they don't bother about the bootloader beeing unlocked.
But what I think is that there is a serious hardware problem. As I continued to read through other posts I realized that I had the same audio problems (stuttering and slowing down of the music) like some others...
If HTC tells me something about what caused the problem I'll post it here.
So far thanks for your help

HELP! LG G2 Screen Won't Come on But Touchscreen responds

I've had a long journey with this phone. Only got it a week ago. I downgraded the phone to the LS980 ZVC firmware using LG Flash tools, rooted with ioroot 25 and flashed TWRP with Autorec. Then installed the Cloudy G2 2.2 Rom. USed it for a while, but then wanted a taste of lollipop. So I downloaded the latest CM12 nightly. Upgraded TWRP to 2.8.4.0 using Blasgator's bumped zip, did full wipe, flashed the CM12 Rom, flashed the ZV8 Radio and then flashed gapps. Booted into CM12 fine and used it for a while. Then, the phone randomly shut off, and wouldn't power back on and I panicked. Power button gave no feedback or sound. I decided to try download mode and plugged the phone into my PC, it was detected and flashed back to to stock firmware, still nothing on screen. The phone boots and I can here sounds, I can also hear touch tones when I touch the screen, but I have nothing on my display. Please help. It would be tragic to lose my phone after less than a week
Did you have anything on the screen when it was in download mode? If not, sounds like the display is toasted. Where did you get it from, did it come with a warranty?

Thanks for your reply, I got it off eBay used. But to anyone else who gets this problem, plug in your phone, it will get irregularly hot while charging, but leave it overnight. You'll wake up with a battery at %100 screen I reflashed CM12, and all is well.

HTC Desire 816- Touchscreen input Mirrored, Rooted with Custom Recovery

Touchscreen Response Mirrored - Re-flash Kernel?
I've tried posting on some other forums, and I'll include here what I've written there, but I think maybe I just need to re-flash the kernel? Is there anywhere I can download a flashable zip file of the HTC kernel?
Here's the issue:
Last week my phone ran out of battery and it shut down. When I turned it back on the touch response is mirrored on the X axis. So if I touch on the left, it registers touch on the right. Up and down is still the same. But it's not perfect and some areas of the screen don't respond. I was rooted and had a custom recovery, but I did a factory reset in recovery and it didn't help. So I downloaded the stock ROM from VMRoms and it flashed fine, but it didn't fix the issue. So I switched to an old phone (Optimus V for life!) and put the 816 on my desk.
A day later or so the touch screen worked fine. So I ran the system update to Android 5.
Another day passed with it was working perfectly, and then it switched back at a reboot to being mirrored. Then it started working again, but for the last 3 days it's been mirrored...
So what do I do?
Honestly it sounds like some weird hardware problem.

Sleep/Wake problems [SOLVED]

So i was using Darthstalker v3 and arter97 kernel 9.3 with no issues.
Suddenly one day, i noticed screen flicker when waking the device, followed by hesitation. So my first step was to wipe the dalvik/cache. That apparently did not help.
I then lost my bootup logos, as well as shut down, along with the screen pretty much refusing to come on.
I used smart switch to emergency recover the stock firmware. Nothing. Then i Odined a stock untouched rom. No change. Once i actually got the phone to render the screen in recovery, so i wiped everything three times, and and flashed darthstalker v6. I also rooted the phone again just before that. I
So when the phone is powered off, the battery icon is present, and the screen wakes to that no problem. Since i set the device to never timeout while charging,
when i plug it in, the screen comes on, but as soon as i try to touch it, poof, the rendering of the screen goes. But, while this occurs, i can hear the icons being pressed,
etc. Completely stumped as to what to do. Can someone help?
[SOLVED]
strangely enough, I found a solution in a most peculiar way.
I managed to finally get into the phone by charging to 100 percent. Then, I downloaded flashify, and attempted to flash tekxodus rom, as well as selecting dalvik and cache wipe.
The flash did not work. the phone just rebooted. Then, I downloaded rom manager premium, and then rom manager attempted its prerequisite attempt to detect my recovery. (up until that point, I had twrp installed).
The detection lingered, so I pressed the back key and selected reboot into recovery. Surprisingly enough, I was back in Stock recovery.
So apparently the solution to the anomaly I encountered in the OP, is to either follow the simple steps above, or, to flash stock recovery in Odin. If that is at all possible for the user. I can confirm the above worked for me as I tried everything for the last week and this was the only method that worked.
The shutdown/startup logos are back, with no screen flicker or hesitation on sleep/wake.

yeah i just suddenly started having this problem. my phone would reboot itself and then it would be updating apps as if i just flashed xposed or something, my phone would have issues with wifi, flickering lockscreen, and if you rub the screen while its off which wouldl show you information stream doesnt work either. Decided to dump the rom. Am going with the TEKXodus N5 with arter kernel

It's just like I told you. When I read that you had experienced the same precursors that I came across with the rom, I had a hunch you would be soon after posting the exact issues that I eventually ran into.
So when you download Tekxodus and flash, please keep me informed as to if it resolves the issue. As you are aware, stock firmware has not resolved the problem for me, but then again devices vary.
So enjoy the fix if you ever run into the above issue.
Im fine with stock, but I miss the fun of trying new roms.
