Smart Hide Calculator is a fully functional calculator app but with a little twist. Once you enter the password(u get to set it on first start of app and can also be changed in future) and press the '=' button then boom you are presented to an interface where you can hide, unhide pictures, videos, documents or files with any file extension placed in a folder on sdcard, and if your device have root you can also hide (freeze) and unhide (un-freeze) apps.
Features:
1.) Everyone will think it as a simple calculator
2.) Hide and Unhide pictures, videos, documents or any other media type
3.) Hide and Unhide apps **ROOT REQUIRED
4). Don't show itself in recent apps *this feature has been disabled for now
5). In case user forgets the password he can recover it by going into password recovery mode(by pressing 123456789+987654321 in calculator) and providing the secondary password
More and more features and improvements will be made available soon. Suggestions are always
welcome.
Note:
1. The secret screen's UI(the one with hide and un-hide buttons) may look a little weird on small screen sizes
2. Refresh gallery button will not work in android kitkat 4.4 (and it is not possible fix this). Don't worry its not even needed and will most probably be removed in future release.
Please Rate and Review. This is my first app.

This app is a working calculator but is also within it hiding another app for hiding and un-hiding files(like:images from gallery).
On starting the app u will get calculator but enter 123+321 and press = sign and u will into options to hide and unhide files.
Also this app dosen't show in recents.
For now it looks for .jpg, .png, .txt .mp3 in the selected folder and displays which extension of files are present to select.
Please tell other common file formats which should be available to hide.
Other suggestions are always welcome

Hi IDSprofile, I'm a DEV too XD, I tried to install you apk but I'm getting this:
I think you have exported as unsigned app or didn't set target as Android 4.3..
I recommend to you, when implemmenting the option to change the password, don't use SharedPrefs, anyone with root can get the password..
Really nice, thanks!!

Yes I haven't signed the app. Just extracted from the my nexus 4 where I was debugging it.
I thought signing is not important unless putting on play store as I was able to install it in another mobile. Nyways I was sign the app in next release.

Hey, guys! Firefox Beta is currently my browser of choice, but due to the DPI settings of our beloved Nexus 7, the app uses the Phone UI. Just look at it!

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Now, let's take a look at it's layout when it sees a proper tablet DPI.
Fabulous! Now let's figure out how we can achieve this...
First of all, we need to install a framework called Xposed. This handy app can modify your ROM without touching an APK or having to flash anything. If your interested, read more about it in its OP. Speaking of the OP, you'll be downloading the APK at the bottom under attachments
You'll find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401
Open the app and touch the 'Install/Update' button. It should install successfully and request that you reboot your device. Do so now.
Now, we need to grab the app that will allow us to change the DPI settings per app. The app will also allow you to deny permissions to apps, but that's not why we are here.
You'll find the app in the attachment section of the following thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2072081
Install it and then open the previously installed Xposed Installer. Switch over to the Modules tab and checkmark the Xposed App Settings. Reboot.
Almost done!
After you've rebooted, open up the Xposed App Settings app. Scroll down to the app you would like to modify. In this case, we'll be changing Firefox Beta to tablet mode. Select Firefox Beta when you find it and enable it. Once enabled, you'll be greeted with the following screen:
Yours won't look exactly like that, but you'll need to make yours look like that also. Your DPI can be anything between 160 and 177. Once you've applied those, touch the wrench icon on the top right and force stop the app. go back to the app and touch the icon to the left of the |> icon. It'll ask you if you want to kill the application, do it again for good measure.
Success! Touch the |> icon to start the app and it should be laid out in all its tablet glory!
Bonus: You can also get the tablet, dual pane version of the Settings app by setting the resolution to 1000x1600 in Xposed App Settings.
In closing, take a look at some before and after pictures for some apps that don't have tablet lay outs by default.

As you can see, most of the text is squeezed together in an undesirable fashion. I switched it back. I also believe Pulse has a tablet layout, but I'm not sure.

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm no developer, so I can't be of much help with issues like that. Your best betis to ask the developer of xposed in his thread, or trying again.

EDIT: if you want to use LMT launcher you have to have root and root explorer to remove the soft keys. First Install LMT launcher, you can get it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330150.
*Here is the link to download the full screen toggle app so you dont have to modify the build prop

Then with root explorer Add "qemu.hw.mainkeys = 1" (without the quotes) at the end of the build.prop in /system and reboot (credit to anirudh412 for this).

I would not recommend this app. I tried it. It worked but after reboot my phone I ended up in boot loop. It mess up with the build.prop. So if you don't have recovery it will be pain to restore phone to previous state.
This app worked well for me. Just the placement of the on screen keys would sometimes get I am the way of the software keyboards lower left and lower right most keys. But overall pretty good.

well the thing is that with the original post that i put you dont need to do any build prop mods its just installing the apps, but if you want to do the LMT launcher with removing the soft keys its been posted on other threads but ill repost it. Also i dont if a moderator can move this to the app section i posted in wrong place.
Here's what I did:
1. Root the phone with my bootloader still locked.
2. I installed the LMT Launcher app and configured the PIE controls
3. When the PIE controls are all set, I installed the app "Fullscreen Toggle"
4. Fullscreen Toggle gets rid of the softkeys but keeps the status bar on top, which I think is good.
5. I also prefer using Browser vs. Chrome, so Installed Browser apk using the instructions in the other thread for that.
Now, when I browse, I have the full screen, when I exit the browser, I no longer have wasted space by the softkeys taking up space.
I have to say, I love LMT Pie control, its fast and intuitive and its even more convenient to use the phone one handed with it. This made all the difference with this phone.
This is exactly what im doing didnt have a chance to do it yesterday, one question you got stock browser to work cuz it seemed like nobody had it working. Did you follow the instructions from the link I provided.

I like the thing that with a simple swipe you can access your SMS/Facebook Messages, or main facebook app and the app drawer, but I'm missing many parts of my One X...
Widgets... that's android's pride. I need my widgets, like weather and news feed, and now I have to swipe up, open app drawer, scroll down to weather app to see if tomorrow is raining or not.
Long refreshing time... When I go back to facebook home after a while it needs 10-15 seconds to refresh news feed, and it's very annoying because it lags a lot in that moment, and can't do anything...
Btw, I love the new updates. Messenger app is nearly perfect now, I don't need to leave an app or a game to answer a text, and I love it :good:

Why would someone say that if it weren't true? This feature wasn't supposed to be released yet but it was in the build and someone found it.

I'm not agree and accept all what I read... Everything isn't true so a small comment is always appreciated.

yes, and you can try "App Ops Launcher" on play store to launch the "App ops" on android 4.3, it is just only 7kb.
it is coming with the next update? i mean official yet?
A new way for end users to break apps...a developers nightmare come true. While I like the idea of this it is too easy for users to switch off permissions, forget they did it, app appears broken and the developer must waste time supporting a non-issue.
This is aimed at the functionality Google has added to 4.3 not the OP's shortcut app.

The situation wouldn't be the current one if some developpers don't use useless permissions. Have a look at Facebook's permissions...
The user has to know what he does before criticizing an app that seems to not work properly.

If used properly this is an awesome addition, the problem is what I stated above will indeed happen.
Example being a wallpaper app (we will call it wall-e) shouldn't be able to read contacts if it can't set contact images, in this example disabling this ability is warrented. But perhaps you didn't know this particular wallpaper app can set contact images, you disable this permisssion. Weeks later your changing John Doe's image to find wall-e in the list with gallery, you think cool I can use wall-e to change John's image so you select wall-e and bam...force close. You think the app is broken, send bug report, the developer reads the crashlog and tries for hours to find out why on this particular device setting a contact image causes a crash.
This is a general example, it gets worse as most users have no idea what permissions are really necessary for Android applications basic functionality.
Then it gets much worse, this is one user...imagine all the millions of users using hundreds of thousands of apps once 4.3 is mainstream like 4.2.
Please try this "App ops launcher", it is only 7kb, scan this and install on your device to have a try.
cheers :good: will it also work on jb4.1.2?

No. App Ops doesnt exist in anything under 4.3.
I just bought 2 LG G4s from AT&T and when configuring it I noticed a missing Voice Recorder native app in the app drawer on both of them.
Researching on the Applications menu I see it under All Apps however I cannot access it. I found it located in the System\priv-app.
Is there a way to access the app? Anyone with the same issue?
Hmm. It works fine on my international version. I can offer you the apk and see if it will install over and let you access it if you want?

Ahhh I misread this, I thought it meant recording while on call. I have the actual app but thanks!

Thank you. I was able to install it but it is still hidden in the app drawer.
Any other ideas?
Can't you just use a third party alternative? They will probably be better anyway than whatever stock bloatware is preloaded onto these phones
I thought so but after downloading 4 of the top apps in the play store I was not able to change the storage path to my external SD card like the stock app. I came from the Galaxy S5 and I was used to save audio recorded directly to the SD card. Any suggestions?
My international version has the shortcut. I had used "Sound Recorder Shortcut" from KN Inc. on my previous phone. It's available at the Play Store.

The shortcut does not work as well. Thx.
I contacted LG support and this is their answer:
"Regarding your concern, the Voice Recorder feature should be accessible on the Quickmemo app.
1. From Home screen, tap APPS > QuickMemo > tap plus (+) icon > tap Menu button (3 dots on the upper right corner of the screen > tap Insert > select Record Voice."
So the Voice Recorder can only be accessed via another app. It does not work as a standalone app. Bummer!
This will let you make a shortcut to your homescreen and or a folder at least for the time being!

You have to hit the "TRY' shortcut to see if it is the correct one in the list as there are a handful of them. Just expand the Voice Recorder shortcut in the list within the shortcut program and start at the first one and on the next screen hit "TRY' to see if it opens the program. Keep trying the next one down til you get the program to launch then apply it and it will be on your homescreen. Took me a bit of fiddling around too!

It worked!!!!!!!
Thank you sooo much for the tip. Now I can use the native app and store the recordings in the SD card (only system apps or apps written to store data in the Ext SD card can write in there).
I just tried it and it does not crash. It records to the ext SD card like a charm.
Thank you again!!!

NICE!! Your welcome, I love to help whenever I can. I know all too much what it's like when you need it yourself:good:
Stock video app is missing, but is listed under "all apps" in settings.
Hi all! I didn't want to create another thread and figured that my situation is similar but just with different app. I have T-Mobile's version of LG G4 and I can't find stock video app shortcut and it is missing in the app drawer. When I tap on a video file, through gallery, then I can choose which app to open the video with and it does play. Does any one have video app missing or maybe it is by design?
